Hallo Andy, my name is Andy to. I am from Munich. I recognized the song hearing 2,3 bars. An all time classic. I'm also into this style of music. Playing Guitar helps me trough a hard time. My son passed away 4 months ago. The age of only 32 years. He played the guitar to. So, learning with your videos, and playing guitar in general, reduces my gref. I feel that Dave is with me, when I play. So. Thank you.
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I am new to playing the guitar and I am in my mid 50’s it’s so relaxing I wish I had learnt years ago. Take care of yourself
I hope you are teaching in a university somewhere because more students need a teacher like you who has all these practical resources at there disposal! I had to perform this song with a solo and only wish I had seen this at the time so I had a better leg to stand on! Your a legend mate!
I can't believe you don't have more viewers. I was looking to refresh my learning resources and I found it. Great lessons! Do you think you could do a lesson on Al Greens' music. The guitar in his songs are fantastic. Thanks a lot Andy!
Sir, you have a beautiful touch. Could I enquire as to your weapon of choice..? Looks like a D’Angelico Exel-if so could you tell me if the top is maple or spruce..? Thank you in advance. Troy.
@@AndyDacoulis Thank you Andy, I’ve just ordered one from London. I’m a little apprehensive about buying a brand I know little about but your playing has convinced me to take the risk.
@@AndyDacoulis Thanks Andy, I never thought I’d step out of my Gibson/Taylor comfort zone but I must admit you have the most beautiful guitar I’ve ever seen.
@@AndyDacoulis Finally got chance to sit down with it-surprisingly comfortable with the 15” bout, certainly needs a set up & possibly a nut job but even with old strings on it sounds very open & breathy. I’ll sling a set of 10-46 Elixirs on it until I get chance to take it to my luthier. Thank you for your advice Andy, I do indeed love it but I’ll always be a 335 guy. 😎
Hi, excellent lesson, beautiful tone. Can I please trouble you for guitar brand / maker and also amp BECAUSE your tone is sublime. Beautiful ebony fretboard, such a nice tone. I would normally use Princeton or ToneKing small wattage amps, so I’m keen to know your info Re guitar and amp. Hope you can provide reply please.
@@AndyDacoulis Thanks for the prompt response Andy, I'm not up with much of the 'tech' and have always been guitar straight in to amp with the addition of a couple of effects such as wah or tremolo before I stopped playing. Having said that, the tone from your set-up is eye-waveringly smooth (from my perspective). Having said that in the earlier video it looked like your git had an ebony fretboard, yet another view tended to suggest the opposite although it doesn't matter. I particularly like your soul/r'n'b stuff that you have also done but I have only recently discovered your channel so I need to go back and revisit. Whilst fundamentally a blues player ... (NOT rock blues) I yearn to evolve the jazzier aspect of stuff such as what you play and also the sort of stuff on the Malaco releases - that derivate hybrid stuff such as Mayfield and other players. Aside from blues I think that is my greatest desire along with the swing stuff such as Tiny Grimes et al up to the more recent players such as Jr Watson and so on. Thanks for replying & cheers from Australia.
Hi, New subscriber here. I watched a couple of your "lick" videos. It would be helpful learning if you posted or demonstrated the actual chords being played behind the riffs. For instance, this video and the Robben Ford do not demonstrate the actual chords being played during the performance at the beginning of your videos. Thanks for posting and excellent chops!
Hi - thanks for your helpful comment. The chords are indicated on the Tabs and I didn't indicate how to play the chords in this video because the keyboards are playing the voicings. I do show many of the chord diagrams in my other videos but you bring up a good point and I will do this moving forward as much a s possible. Thanks again!
@@AndyDacoulis Hey Andy, Thanks for the reply. I recently learned an excellent version of Isn't She Lovely. The voicings were spot on. I was hoping to learn how you interpreted the lead playing around your voicings, so that I could wrap my head around your tasty licks. Again, thanks so much for posting these advanced guitar technique videos.
Hi Gavett - it means that the lick is outlining the chord on which it is played. Ex: a D7 lick in this song works "only" on D7. Don't play the D7 lick on any other chord in the progression.
@@AndyDacoulis Now that I'm sitting down to re-watch and attend to the entire video, I see where I missed your very clear explanation/demonstration of verbal vs global applications. I apologize for the question. (I was marinating chicken when the video first came up and auto played) 🙈Thank you for your patience. I'm going to be a better student. 😃
Hey Andy, Would you have a transpose for this solo for the original key? Also I'd be keen to see how you'd approach this song in Chord Melody style. 🤔 🙃

Hello - email me at ad@andydacoulis.com and I'll see if I can find my session. I make the backing tracks myself.

Great stuff priceless TY.... Do you do your own beard or have It done ? Little off topic.
Haha - I do it myself. Glad that you liked the lesson
What kind of AMP do you use i love this clear and sweet sound u have
Hi - I use the Line 6 Helix and I go direct into the audio interface. Thanks
Dude your tone is sick. I see you have a helix. Do you have a patch for sale?
Hi there - thank you. The patch can be purchased from the Store page on my website. It's the Texas Cali Channel 1 patch. Thanks again
Sweet playing. Why did you change the key from the original?
I often play it in this key on gigs. I also thought that it's a good key to follow from the viewer's perspective. Thanks
That D’angelico though….😮
How thick is the plectrum you use?
Dunlop Primetone 1.4 or 1.5
Do you offer private lessons?
Hi Hugh - yes, I do. Lesson information is available on my website. Thanks
What do you mean when you say a "vertical lick?"
Hi Gavett - it means that the lick is outlining the chord on which it is played. Ex: a D7 lick in this song works "only" on D7. Don't play the D7 lick on any other chord in the progression.

You’re finally using a Dangelico huh? Lol. Aren’t they pretty sweet
