I question why that young vlogger couple needed a baby monitor if a family member was in their cabin baby,-sitting the little ones. Did they not trust this relative? As a grandmother, I would gladly sit with a grandchild so my child & spouse could enjoy a quiet meal by themselves.
I can understand having a baby monitor. A Mom needing a shower or bathroom break but would feel more comfortable being able to keep an eye on the cabin too.
A baby monitor would be a great way to keep tabs on your cabin or hotel room while out. Weird things getting brought to people's attention these days like the worker under the bed. 😬
Exactly. On my last cruise, in August, I heard more than a couple grandparents saying that they were going to their children’s cabin, to watch the grand babies, so that their parents can come out and have dinner, or just fun.

Our view is the baby monitor isnt so much of an issue if used appropriately If you have a suite or an interconnecting cabin its not a bad thing and understandable. Walkie Talkies on the other hand....
I support the ban on baby monitors on cruise ships. You say baby monitor, I say spy camera. I remember not too long ago a story where someone found a video camera that was left in their cabin from a previous guest.
My parents always got babysitters for us. When I was three months old, they *did* take my older brothers to Disneyland. The youngest was seven years old, and he does not remember the trip. Very small children and babies are not going to remember any of it. Sounds like their two were more stressed about being on the trip than if they’d been left at home.
Time for cruise line to offer child care services for a fee. Should be available from 7am until 2am for a fee. Must be pre-arranged prior to boarding. Another option could be a nanny-cabin where the family brings along their own child care nanny, pays for her room which includes sleeping space for two children. As per baby monitors, there is another radio solution that can be easily embraced. However, if I disclise it here cruise lines will ban this mode next.
My autistic grandson can’t handle the long dinner hour in the MDR so my daughter and son in law always have meals in the buffet since it’s quicker and noisy enough that he’s not really heard talking loudly
This was probably the last thing about WiFi cameras onboard ships. It was not that long ago two employees onboard ships were caught illegally filming in private areas. So I would think, this is the last straw.
Very glad to hear that the electric plug ban doesn’t apply to USB. With a phone, tablet, camera, flash, several charging bricks, motion sensor light, Bluetooth speaker, toothbrush I would be in real trouble without the multi-outlet chargers I carry. Sure, not everything needs daily charging, but I want to be able to charge any device when it needs it without having to unplug something else. It would be a 100% deal breaker for me.
Is anyone else as tired as I am of instagramming and vlogging an$ tiktoking and all the rest of brain deadening activity being portrayed as interesting.
Don. How could there be any lawsuit if parents left there children in their cabins with a monitor? If something happened that’s on the parents, not Royal.
Because there will always be people who’ll try to twist the situation around and insist it’s the cruise line’s fault. It’s highly unlikely such a lawsuit will prosper, but even huge corporations prefer to preempt irksome situations like that. Especially if they have to counter negative press initially.
I thought baby monitors were banned all this time due to RF interference reason like with two way radios and similar devices. At least the black out tents are now de facto banned as well since you no longer can have the monitors on board. Why bring a infant/toddler on a heavy trip like a cruise - the kids will never remember any of the experiences. Why deal with the hassle of travelling to multiple countries (and entry requirements of each). If you originally booked the cruise several years out and then gave birth, talk to your travel agent or cruise line to see if you can postpone your trip or see if they have a "nanny service" (Cunard is famous for offering this). Flying with infant/toddler is different since it typically to visit relatives after the birth. I figure you would want your child to remember the experiences they had.
You can block spam mail. Who goes on a cruise with a 1 & 2 year old?? The parents should have ordered room service. With all due respect who would use a baby monitor on a ship
It means there is a limit to the power system. You might be able to use one, but so can everyone else, at the same time. Or do only you have that right?
Everything about their LIFE is a designed to get attention and views. They knew what they were doing. They probably got endorsement money for the tent and the baby monitor
What should be the punishment if you are caught with a banned object when they search your luggage? Fine? This overpolicing is effecting the bottom line and increasing cruise prices. It should be subsidized.

yeah, leave Grandma home too, being all old and stuff 😉
@@ovy6136 If they can't enjoy it, yes. If you're doing it just for you OWN selfish convenience, then ESPECIALLY yes.
I would love to hear someone with first hand knowledge as to how far a baby monitor works in a regular cruise cabin.
This was probably the last thing about WiFi cameras onboard ships. It was not that long ago two employees onboard ships were caught illegally filming in private areas. So I would think, this is the last straw.
Happy Monday from down under
Banned washing machines and now ban baby monitors. Sheeze 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
Bad parents! Why bring a 2 year old and a 1 year old on a cruise, they're not going to remember it.
Haven’t followed this story, but did the parents ever produce their family that was in the room with their children?
Good point

No!
Taking a 1 and 2 yr old was their first stupid decision
What a silly thing to say on social media and to do.
When things are “banned”, do they check your bags when you board?
Still say they are lying
Good for Royal Caribbean. Eliminate the opportunity.
So now terrible parents will leave the kids alone without any way of checking on them at all.
How's your tooth? Hope that it is better.
That's a good reason to ban baby monitors.
Royal Caribbean jump right in and patched up that possible little lawsuit loop hole
You can block spam mail. Who goes on a cruise with a 1 & 2 year old?? The parents should have ordered room service. With all due respect who would use a baby monitor on a ship
Wouldn't sail with Royal Caribbean if a multi plug effects the ship. Means there's a flaw in the build and they don't want to fix it.
It means there is a limit to the power system. You might be able to use one, but so can everyone else, at the same time. Or do only you have that right?
Everything about their LIFE is a designed to get attention and views. They knew what they were doing.
They probably got endorsement money for the tent and the baby monitor
Hello Don n 👪🇺🇲🇵🇭
Why would they change their dinner time if they had someone else to watch the children
What should be the punishment if you are caught with a banned object when they search your luggage? Fine? This overpolicing is effecting the bottom line and increasing cruise prices. It should be subsidized.
Maybe they may need to get another job other than Blogging that doesn’t jeopardize SAFETY! They got caught !
