How accurate is it when you are outdoor but using a hitting net? I don't have enough space to use it indoor

Came here for the r10 reviews but ended up binging your chanel! Loved the father's Day one, I am in the process of getting my 3 year old into it! Really torn between this and the skytrak. Not overly fussed by the putting side.

What an amazing piece of technology. Budget constraints limit me to one tech aid. Based on your demonstration, the R10 is currently at the top of my list.
Great Video. Defiantly want to get the r10. Looks like a great way to improve my golf at an affordable price. Especially here in Scotland when the winter really restricts the number of rounds you can play.

This device has tons of courses to choose from! Very cool! I think I would just be using the simulator mode out on the driving range!
Yes that’s the nice thing about tapping into the existing course database. A little cartoony, but still a lot of fun

I guess if I wanted to replay my old high school course (Gibson Woods in Monmouth Illinois) I could relive some old memories. If you get a chance it might be interesting to see how the device works at a covered range. In Washington the weather in the winter is, well, crappy. Most ranges here that aren't Top Tracer have a covered area where you can hit. This might be something to invest in during the winter if it works well someplace that had a roof on it.
Haven't tried that one, Thomas, but I honestly don't see why it wouldn't. Great for winters up north and great for our wet summers here in FL too :)

Hi Gabe, here in Chonburi bars have been closed since April, restaurant cannot have sit down customers but can deliver, all courses have been closed for a couple of weeks also the driving range. This piece of equipment could be used in your garden with a net or indoor. For the price and flexibility of use it is great value. Another great video.

@@mattsauter it seems like it works best she the unit can see as much ball flight as possible. But for $600, it doesn't seem to have much competition for what it does. You need to step up into the $1500 range to get something better that's worth it.
I want one of these purely for the range I prefer doesn’t have the electronic shot system. That’s where this will shine in use for shot data.

thanks for the great videos! i noticed there’s a 10% penalty out of the rough. i have a hitting mat with rough included in it to simulate that feeling. is there a way to turn off the 10% penalty ?

Great review and the device definitely looks great when used on a range. In respect to the simulator function, I am thinking that most people would be looking to use this in a net scenario rather than at the range. It would be great to do review where you again play St George’s but in a net environment and compare the results. Even if you only did a couple of holes, I’d be very interested to see that.
I suspect the distances will be off however if users could get data at the range and in a net, if there was a general trend that it was reporting 15% less in a net, for example, it would be good to turn on “net compensation mode” (feel free to use that Garmin) which would add 15% more distance in the calculations. It would need to build up some data of well hit shots but I think this would be great as it would adapt to different set ups to make it a usable simulator/game in net mode.

Great video. How does it perform hitting into a net?
You chose a really difficult course and in reality it's even tougher as there is usually some breeze and you will wish you could always get out the bunkers in 1 like that simulation....but I'm waiting to buy 1 of these myself 👍
Another thought.
Besides the range balls effecting the results, I wonder how the mats verse's hitting off the ground is also effecting it.
If you get a clean strike, it should be same off the mat as off grass. How bad it sucks to hit off mats will be very evident if you chunk one. You'll get the bounce of the mat, make some kind of contact and this device will pick it up as is. You hit the same heavy shot of off grass and the ball would probably go nowhere; and device would show that. My guess...
What might be really cool to do is play simulator golf on the actual course. Setup R10 on tee box, hit and compare where on the course the simulator has you compared to real life, then setup R10 again for shot 2 etc. see how the sim compares to actual on a real hole in real conditions.
Interested if you have to select a club to give the unit an idea where to look for the ball in the radar. Will be interesting to see how it picks up a driver on a wedge and vice a versa

Great review! I recently got the R10 and today I tried Home Tee Hero for the first time. Worked flawlessly!
After playing I have two questions:
1. Can you select your irons?
2. After saving the session, can you review your session (not only see your scorecard, but see the map of the hole, where the ball landed, etc.)?

That would make me pull the trigger on it for the winter up here in New England
At the moment I don’t have a projector to pair it to but it would def work using e6 running off a computer. Alternative is to mirror from phone or iPad, but Home Tee Hero is currently only portrait mode (hope they adjust that).
I love the R10 but the only thing I’d be a little concerned with is that 6 foot behind me at any of our ranges in Australia and people are stepping on it.
Received my device after four months of waiting and made sure everything was updated and setup properly. Hasn’t detected a single shot. Tried it on the range, indoor and outdoor with all different balls etc. Waste of money and definitely returning it.
Does the unit integrate with the Garmin S62 watch and the Garmin Approach CT10 sensor? I'm specifically interested in knowing if it does how that then affects the virtual caddie feature on the watch.

Hi, Great video! You said that shots are shorter when you play inside. Only thing that I’m wondering is that have you noticed difference in sidespin or club path when you play indoors vrs outdoors? Does r10 recognize slice and hook just well whether it is outdoors or indoors?
Yes it recognizes shot shape indoors very well. Have a look at my accuracy video for more specifics.
What is the default radius of the putting rings? Are you able to adjust the sizes?
Great video Gabe. Do you have any further information on the E6 Connect compatibility / package. For Mevo+ you get a handful of courses for E6 Connect on iOS. But not on Android. I hope it will become available on Android for R10.
I’ve E6 connect and I use it with another simulator. I recently updated the app for iOS and I saw that now is compatible with Garmin R10. If you have the possibility to use it it will be great to see the functionality of this device with E6. I like this device and I like the work you are doing on it and in general in your channel this is why i’ma subscriber. Thanks for your work!

With Golf Tee Hero can you manually add puts to the score? Was think of making a putting area inside the simulator (not built yet 😊).

If you own a garmin S62 will you be able to pair it and once you hit a club tell the watch what club you hit so you can see an overview of the hole with each club you hit with the distance for each shot ?

This may not be possible, but to gauge accuracy, couldn't you play your local course on the garmin while you're actually playing a few holes and see where your garmin says you land vs where you actually land. Again, the garmin may not be capable of this, but just an idea. Thanks for the video!
While technically it might be possible it would be tough to pull off. I'd love it if someone tried though.

Did you have the Garmin CT10’s on your clubs? I recently installed them and they seem to work pretty well with my S62.
This is pretty awesome…I had originally pre-ordered the R10, but for the $$, I ended up cancelling it…I would mostly use it on the driving range, and most ranges (at least by me) use your every day range balls, which are way off on distance/spin/apex from what I play…and, a few other ranges by me use limited range balls. So, the reality is the data would be useless. Too bad…
I don’t understand why they can’t just have a normalised mode on these things as standard. If a lot of the numbers are calculated anyway it’s just making an adjustment from a set of numbers.
did you use a rangefinder to verify the distance the ball actually travelled V the distance the R10 told you? cheers and thanks

Works really great with e6 from what I saw
I've seen other posts comparing GCQuad and the right and left ball direction seemed to be a noticeable difference. This is my number one concern about purchasing because I already a good monitor for distance, etc. Do you still recommend it for that reason? thanks
In my testing I found the ball flight to be very similar to everything else I tested. I think it does it really well. Especially considering this is $600 and the GC4 is $11,000+. BTW, checked out your channel it looks like good fun 👍🏽
I noticed you didn’t have any practice swings before hitting each shot. Do practice swings create problems and cause delays with this system?
Sure hope there is some head to head hard data comparisons telling us the accuracy of this device. Would like to have seen you walk off the actual shot and compare
Yeah I guess you’re going to have to trust me on that. I did do an accuracy video so you can see some comparisons with other devices.
Does it calculate the ball trajectory or actually track it?
I see you do little club waggle as your pre shot routine, is it fixed or you still need to look back at the device like in the first videos ?
