This is not tuning, it is cleaning the throttle body and cleaning the spark plugs. working on an engine with a lot of dirt which can enter the engine, the spark plugs should have been put new and change the air filter.
This part of tune up,clean throtle body& spark plug carbon, you can also clean air filter/replace new one, clean maf sensor-oxygen sensor-ocv sensor both in&ex, ..i also remove intake manifold and remove injector to clean it..
Cleaning is mandatory to all system parts, but to push it a little is not a good idea, on old car's it will work but for modern cars where all system are pre adjusted according to ECU requirement...ex, if your air filter is partially clogged the map sensor will send signal to ECU that there's something wrong with the air intake, the check engine lights will activate by using a scanner the fault will be address...that's how complex modern cars are...cleaning is normal...that's why we humans are more precise than those stupid electronics...

Nr engine are dual vvti...no need for tuning...the on board computer handles all engine parameter
But not handl dust or carbon
