It can be done, it's really just removing a pin, no biggie. For the sake of potential unintentional movement and that beautiful finish....I def wanted to use a vice since I have one.
That’s unfortunate about the rear sight. For a $1,500 revolver, the sights should not be suspect. I’m waiting for the square notch rear sight to come back in stock so I can install it on my Colt. Think I’ll keep the stock front sight for now. Looks pretty cool
A friend of mine custom made them actually. He made a mold of my hand, and went to work on it. Needless to say it fits like a glove and it only cost me a 12 pack and an evening of gun talk.

they couldn't have made the front sight swap any easier no pins no banging on barrel just one allen screw did it on my python it looks so good

There's nothing wrong with the rear sight of the Python. Changing is a matter of preference.

I bought finger groove grips for mi e but I couldn't them on I did realize it was a monogrip so I sent it back

Should be, yes. The sights are mounted/housed the same way on both models.
