Shamim, It is quite interesting from my point of view that you as
a tutor of English, I am presuming, excuse me if my assumption is off the mark. Nonetheless, I am sure Amitabh Bachchan famous and world renowned personality as he is got his early language pedigree and importance of knowledge acquisition, from a very early age. The environment in which he was raised by Shri Harivansh Rai Bachchan and his mother Teji Bachchan was instrumental in shaping the foundations of his early formative thought processes.
Now add to that the early education he got amongst his fellow school mates at my erstwhile Sherwood College, at Nainital where the elite of Indian society and the residuals of British society studied. Similar too in later years The Doon school in Dehradun were equally prestigious in imparting of knowledge.
Shamim, your noble attempt at explaining the intricacies of the English language, utilizing and appreciating the accomplishments of the doyen of the movie industry of India is a good way to garner attention to the language itself.
At this hour of night here in Southern California, not too far from Hollywood , I stumbled on to this video and wanted to wish you the best in your noble efforts to teach English amongst those who wish to embrace it.

Grow up subcontinent people - we don't have to be masters of a foreign language. Urdu and Arabic are way more expressive than English. There are depths of feelings for which there are not even words coined in the English language and you need multiple words to convey same in English whereas in Urdu and Arabic one word can encapsulate a unique dimension of feelings.

All of a sudden a good well spoken language is adhered and glorified by the public… I am a physics teacher and this is happening to me almost all the time … initially I took pride in it but later was amazed how the current generation(code name GenZ , I guess) is finding the words which is were common to my generation (90’s kids). I guess the reason is how the entire generation is sinking into the cruel state of mediocrity where most of the content is consumed through shallow reels and shorts. The literature and history is read through senseless posts. Music production is hitting NEW’s rock bottoms with easy obnoxious words without melody ( mostly Rap). So while the maker of this video is gasping at the normal conversation style of a well read person, while if u ask a well informed person he will simply praise the eloquence of the answers …

Well put. I grew up in an era (80s) when Internet and social media were unheard of. We then were obsessed with reading newspapers and books as it was the primary source of both knowledge and entertainment, as much as the current generation is obsessed with their smartphones. And In the process, we ended up enriching our language skills. Congressman Shashi Tharoor had mentioned this as well in many interviews .I remember reading every other grammar and vocabulary book available in the market then. Interestingly, most of those books are currently out of print. What is considered a difficult word today used to be part of normal conversations then, among educated people. On the other hand, Information is readily available these days due to the ubiquity of the Internet, provided one looks into the right source. Regarding contemporary music, the less said, the better.

This may have something to do with the IELTS tests. I am not really impressed with that test. I did it some years back and achieved an 8.5 band score overall. I would have scored 9 if the examiner examining the writing test had a sense of humour. Jeeves as an expletive.

Amitabh Bachchan, an educated individual, serves as a prime example of the importance of education. Unfortunately, a significant number of Bollywood stars lack formal education, often due to their family's involvement in the film industry. This has led to a concerning trend where many prioritize wealth over education, failing to recognize the value of completing their studies. Moreover, there's a tendency among some to emulate Western culture at the expense of India's rich heritage, in an attempt to gain global acceptance. This aspect of Bollywood is indeed disheartening.

I think you’re mistaken about the verb 'coin'. While it implies coming up with something new, it is not synonymous with the act of inventing. Instead, it refers more to introducing or popularizing an innovative idea-such as the term 'Bollywood' in this case.
