Noel… I’ve been a main channel subscriber for a long while now, a fan for even longer, & over Thanksgiving I finally made the time to check out this flying channel. ¡Es fantástico, hombre! Especially the extra footage of you & your family’s move over here to the States. I hope you guys are enjoying America so far & assimilating without a hitch (particularly your kids, as I certainly remember how difficult that can be at their age). I know ya’ll have been here for a while now, but I still wanted to say “Welcome!”, it’s great to have you, Rachel, & the rest of your family in our country. And I hope it doesn’t let you down (tho it certainly seems to be trying lately). But at some point I hope you & Rachel have the chance to fly over the Desert Southwest, & see some of my state’s (Arizona) amazing scenery - Sedona’s Red Rocks, Monument Valley, the Mogollon Rim (also called “The Edge of the World” for its spectacular views), and, of course, the Canyon. While I’m guessing there could be some flight restrictions around those areas, I’m sure you’re already aware of how to find that stuff out. If you do end up piloting around this way, please make it a vlog for this channel. So congrats on the move & yet another great TH-cam channel! Wishing you & your family the best! Keep up the great work & Happy Holidays!
As a Texan I have driven through this town so many times throughout the years but never stopped there, thank you for sharing this liked, shared and subscribed.
You missed a little town right next to this one. Call Gruene. Pronouced Green. Oldest German settlement. It has a lot going on there for tourist, every weekend there is a dance. Restaurant on the river is so good with German fare.
@@pattiwhite9575 Yea, no offense i just found it funny! :) Without being a german language expert (i just speak it lol) wouldn't the settlers, just say it like we do in german?
@@EinfachLuap They would, at first. But with years passing it changed with the influence of natives and other settlers from other parts of the world. Language is always evolving. (And why they don't use Grüne (which is what I presume it was in the beginning), I'll never know 😂)
The banter you have with your wife is so similar to what I have with mine. It's great to have your best friend with you on your adventures. If you're looking for somewhere new to fly, try Colorado in the summer. Base Camp out of FNL or BDU. Easily take day trips to GNB, SBS, EGE, GJT, even CYS.
Hello Noel, I have been watching your videos for months now and I find them so interesting, I think it’s very unique content, it was only yesterday I saw that you recently left England for Good to go to Houston I think the sign said in the airport , and tonight I’ve just watched your heritage video and that is insane ( still watching the same video as it’s so long but very good!. Keep it up there awesome to watch.
Did you check out Naegelin's German Bakery they are the oldest bakery in texas and is famous for strudel and other german bakery items. Also Krause's Cafe which has german food and a large beer hall. Both in New Braunsfel.
Now mark and save that route. You will want to take the kids there this summer. They have a German Water Park that is so much fun for the whole family. Pack a picnic basket cause you will be there all day long. Schlitterbahn is a blast.
I've visited New Braunfels when I stayed with my late uncle and aunt in nearby Universal City. My uncle worked on the massive Randolf air base there. Absolutely loved the 3 weeks I had in the USA and I recommend visiting San Antonio, The LB Johnson ranch south of Austin, Corpus Christie and the south coast and further afield you have to do the Canyon and Vegas as well as the Hoover Dam. All of them are one of life's great experiences in my humble opinion.
My aunt was from West, Texas. (The city of West, not the region of West Texas.) It's a Czech town and Czech was her first language. You might have heard, the town blew up a few years ago. Great kolaches there.
Need to go to fredricksburg great place for the weekend large german history and food. Wineries BB admiral Nimitz museum large military museum of the Pacific War
That was a fun trip and what looked like a smooth landing. Rachel may not want to go for the PPL but perhaps she could take the “pinch hitters” course that is offered at some AOPA event. It teaches some rudimentary skills so the passenger can be more involved in day to day flying and help out in the event things get urgent. Cheers
😀 Nice flight, super smooth landing, I've only one grumble and that is you constantly refer a plane which is a carpenters tool used for smoothing wood, and they tend not to fly very well. Whereas you were in perfect control of an aeroplane. No offense meant I'm perhaps just another pedantic Brit, and after all you are mixing with the natives.😁
When you said you were going to “Germany” I thought you meant Fredericksburg-much more German than NB in our opinion. Also Fredericksburg has the Nimitz Museum-kinda like the Imperial War Museum in London on steroids.
No look at the alcohol percentage that you can drink on a bottle of beer in Texas versus a bottle of beer in Oklahoma there's a reason for that it's our German migrants look it up.
Nice to see you flying over my “stomping grounds” in northwest Houston area. Oh and I am a “mooman” ha ha ha (or more correctly a member of the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints), so you don’t have to go all the way to Utah to meet one. 😄
Love the in-flight banter 😄
You ought fly to Eureka Springs in the Ozarks Mountains in Northern Arkansas.

I love how americans adapt the german way of writing it, but then proceed to absolutely butcher it when saying it. 🤣
@@EinfachLuap Thats Texas. We are only few hundred years old. And we are pronouncing it just like the settlers did with out the cadence.

A very good Sunday morning to you all from Wellington Somerset in the UK

Great video Noel! When I visit Houston Texas someday we should definitely try to fly together! 😊
Landing? Butter!!! Best regards from southern Germany...
Thank you!
Your best landing to date! greased it!
Thank you! I was proud of that one!
great flying
Landing spot on. Good job.
9/10 on the landing! Good job, and welcome to Central Texas!

Landing looked smooth as butter! Nice going.
Perfect landing
If you ever fly down to Galveston, you can bring the kids to Schlitterbahn water park here too. It's right next to the airport.

That's a brilliant idea! Will check it out, thank you!
You both look so well
Thank you! Very kind of you!
Come to Nashville Noel! There's a great little airport here.
Nice to see you behind the stick. Would have liked more of that landing with the other plane in sight and less bickering.
I have friends from N.B a nice place to live:) Greetings to the Milam family!
The family of Ben Milam btw
i actually live 1 town over, in San Marcos, the self-proclaimed "Mermaid Capitol of the World"
My Maui Jim’s are VERY BENDY. Depends what model you buy. Best sunny’s eva!
Best part of New Braunfels is Guerene township.
Nice landing 😃
I'll bet it would seem strange flying in the UK now, with all our 500 - 700m runways, many of them grass.
Greased the landing Noel.
Great video Noel
Just visited New Braunfels while traveling between Austin and San Antonio… decided to stop after watching your video!

So, the bakery, the pretzels, how were they?
You should try and get a meet up with Matthew Guthmiller at some point. He lives in an air park too
Noel, dangerous talk saying the wife is the problem !😂
Awesome video with very interesting angles on the outside of the plane.
What is the app around 8:22?
Thank you! It's ForeFlight.
@@FlyWithNoelPhilips Thank you for your quick reply!
Greetings from Germany :D
No trip to In and Out Burger in New Braunfels? Or Buc-eel’s? 😂
Fredericksburg is even more German than New Braunfels. You should check it out next time Noel!
Your wife seems fun to be around. I love goof balls lol 😂😂 I'm one too.
Come to Denver! APA or BJC await
Next you fly to Martha's vineyard.
Lol that was a brazos river like bra(Like the first part of brad)-zos(Like bezos).
LOL Noel… it’s the Brazos River - pronounced - Brazzz-us
