Hi Dennis, thanks! I wrote a blog post which goes in to a bit of detail on set up, you can find it on the JPS website. In a nutshell, we tried everything and had success fishing deep with piglets and Frances’. Floating lines with Sunrays, size 10/12 coneheads and dressed flies. Colours which worked were, black, red and orange. Tight lines

I’ve checked out the website & excellent by the way i’m very envious, a trip i’ve never had the pleasure of,
One of many Salmon fishing dreams i feel will never be fulfilled. I’ve watched Scandinavian videos where the olive Frances has worked well, but i’m sure you & your brother know very well what works best.

@@dennismackey7347 we had success with a crème brûlée piglet which I believe is an Orkla special but haven’t even got an olive Frances to try, will have to tie one up and have a go.

Hi would you have a contact for fishing on the Orkla? We're looking at going in late June but not sure where is best to go that time of year

Not really as we booked it all ourselves on public waters. We were on the upper river too, I think in June you’d ideally want to be on the lower river, there’s Grindal lodge which I’ve seen but I’ve never been so can’t tell you if it’s worth it or not. Best of luck.
