  • Greetings Kindred, welcome to Our World of Darkness and Metaplot Monday. Tonight we are examining the Descendant of Karl Schrekt Loresheet from Vampire the Masquerade 5th edition. Mr. Schrekt is an unusual elder who once hunted down the very creatures that he calls his own in these nights. Hunter turned Kindred. These are the options open to those who share his blood.

    Main thing I don't get is why there isn't a supernatural hunter lineage loyalist alternative to dot 4, like you created an arsenal of blood magic weapons to fight a certain type of other supernatural.

    I'm curious how you do your downtime rules Voivode? I'm running a Manhatten Camarilla game as my first, and downtime is one of those things I'm torn on how to best do. I'm here, because one of my players is a descendant of Schrekt.

      Chart Actions means actions listed in the Influence Access Chart in LoN 1E Pp. 31-37.
      “Access”, “Access Area”, or “Influence Access” refers to items such as “Industry”, “Media”, etc., as opposed to the “Influence Background.”
      Other Influence Actions (LoN:DE Pp. 64-69):
      (NOTE: Stealth and Conceal have been modified. This is not an error.)
      Attack* Choose a Access Area held by target Character. Add 1 to your Attack Level vs that target. If your Attack Level exceeds
      their Influence Access + Defense Level, reduce their Access by 1 at the end of the month, and they lose any banked Growth.
      Block Choose an Action from the Chart. Add 1 to your Block Level vs that Action. If that action is attempted by anyone and your
      Block Level exceeds their Boost Level, such actions fail.
      Boost Add 1 to your Boost Level for a specific instance of a Chart Action.
      Combine Spend 2 Influence Actions to provide a Character 1 additional Influence Action.
      Conceal Add 1 to the Conceal Level of an instance of an Action. Conceal applies to Chart Actions, Attack, Block, Follow, Growth, or Watch.
      Defend Add 1 to Defense Level for a specific Access Area.
      Follow* For each of your Target’s Actions in an Access Area, If your Follow Level exceeds their Conceal Level, learn of that action.
      Grow Add 1 to the Growth Level of an Access Area. Once your Growth Level is 3x your current Level, you may buy a point of Access.
      Trace See who did an action you’ve encountered. A successful Watch or Block, or being Attacked or Blocked qualifies you to attempt
      a Trace, as does a recieved Combine. Your Trace Level must exceed their total Conceal Levels in that Access Area to succeed.
      Watch Choose a Chart Action. You must have sufficient Access to perform the action. Discover all uses of that action where your Watch
      Level exceeds their Conceal Level. Watch applies to Chart Actions, Attack, Block, Follow (of you only), Growth, and Watch.
      * indicates actions that require a successful Trace to enact.

      I'm glad it helps. Daviga and myself spent a few hours going through the v20 books and the old Second edition revised larp books to piece this together. We found those editions really have the best ways of handling downtime actions.

    Not realy about the loresheet but my brain came to this question:
    Do Tremere feel the Beconning? Assuming it comes from the Antedeluvians, who they "stored" in Vienna would it have called the Elders there? Or do they not feel it, like the Capadocians/Hecata, since both lost their Founder respectivly? (assuming that Augustus was destroyed when his personal malestorm broke loose before the Family Reunion)
    Is there anything about that written or has anyone an idea/opinion about it?

      From what I understand the Hecata and Ravnos are the only clans that without any doubt are immune to the Beckoning. Ravnos is most certainly dead and Augustus, I believe is at least heavily suggested to have been killed by the Barron before the family reunion. Personally I think that it is tied to the Antediluvians/founders and the Tremere would be immune as well.

      @@VoivodeMekhetYeah, I thought so too. Which could put the Tremere in a strange position. Weak, because they lost much of Thaumaturgy, but strong, since they are not loosing more Elders, except for the once lost in the prime chantry. Thats why I thought about it in the Karl Schreckt video.
      (But I don't think that Zapatesura, the master of chimestry and fortitude is realy finaly dead^^)

      @@VoivodeMekhet Unless you count Tzimisce and Saulot. Tzimisce blood for the original creation of the Tremere, and the Diablerie of the Salubri, with Saulot winning the soul battle against Tremere. So, there is that.

      The idea that Tzimisce and Saulot were both inside of Tremere at the time of the attack on Vienna, it might take time for Tzimisce to form within a new host.

      Tzimisce? Did the Tremere get the blood of the Eldest for their science experiments? I thought that Antedeluivian is now a growing fungus infecting all of New York

    Yeah, sadly the L2 loresheet is garbage. "you prepared it in advance" "ok, cool, lets launch that." "it takes five minutes". "...bro are you for real? what does 'prepared' mean in your world?" the first level ones ALREADY are a 5 min casting time! and once per STORY? Why do they let people who've never played a Tremere write Thaumaturgy rules??
    Rewrite time: once per night, you may cast a ritual normally, but suspend its effects until a later time. At any point that night, you may use one action of gesturing and incantation to begin the ritual's effects. All listed ingredients must be provided during the initial casting, except the target(s), who must otherwise be in line of sight to the caster at time of activation. If unused, the ritual's energies disperse at dawn.
    FIXED IT.
    What's worse is we used to have no less than 5 rituals for this kind of thing, "Suspension of the Incantation", "The Lesser Trigger", "Greater Trigger", "Inscription", and "Greater Inscription", as well as a few rituals like "Extinguish" that automatically featured delayed execution. Reminds me of the CF when they moved "Blood Mastery" from a Path power to a Ritual. Get it together, guys!

      @@VoivodeMekhet some of the rituals take an hour or more to cast. Escape to True Sanctuary takes three nights! Being able to say "uhh, actually I prepared it in advance!" and escape at a clutch moment in the chronicle is very cool.
