Bump drafting is when you're behind someone and faster but instead of passing them you bump from behind to push them forward overall this is like a cooperation method to catch up to pack of cars otherwise fighting in "empty" track with each other only will lose you time.
Ok so it wasn't necessary for him to bumpdraft then when it is 1 vs 1 moment aka top 2.
In this case it was not to catch up since they were in front, but to pull away from the group behind
He knew what he was doing.

They were trying to bump draft. It went wrong.
Yes I think Lando felt so bad for Max at that moment, but there was nothing he could do, when he just tried to bump draft to get Max further, so they could make 1 and 2 finish with Max, but it went horribly down and so I think Lando felt bad for Max and maybe would give the win to Max, if Max could fight his way to get back to second position, when just felt bad for Max.

Lando’s comment on how Max never backs off really aged well since yesterday he just won the world driver championship from not backing off.
That wasn't the reason why he won. He had fresher and softer tyres, when Lewis tried to overtake him he was on the outside with those old Hard tyres. Max simply made the corner way faster than Lewis and then gg.
@@JR-mk6ow he was able to get to that point in Yas Marina because he spent the whole season not backing down, was my point.
I think that backing off means Max was not about to let anybody pass him, when was into defending his lead of the race and Lando saw that so commented about it.
Think the best video of Max and Lando on iRacing is the one where Verstappens brake pedal fell off during a 24hrs of Spa race. it broke with like 15mins left on the race.
Lando is a future f1 world champion he's been consistent in every f1 race this season he is class!

Honestly though how is that any different than people watching football, basketball or any other sport yelling at how much a player sucks because they messed up? Its just part of the sport like any other sport.
Just because they're pros doesn't mean they don't enjoy watching people have fun with a sport they obviously love. They likely have less time due to training/events obv, but they're still just people... So I'm sure they get a kick outta seeing a gamer come into their world and try to learn the ropes. Especially when they're just hanging out catching a day off to relax.

Flat out spun Max. No bump drafting in Porsche. Nascar yes, all other forms I doubt it.
bumpdraft is in nascar means both car can go a bit faster because of the aerodynamics of the 2 car is better than just one and the 2nd car has a bit more power because it has much less aerodynamics drag.
Forgot to mention the bump part. 2nd bumps first with the extra draft he gets and they both make better progress.

To the guy who made the comment about Max at Le Rouge… the modern F1 car has enough aero and downforce to go flat out the whole way through. Even Mazepin in a Haas can go flat out

Is there even such a thing as bump drafting in GT cars? I mean look at the backs ends of these cars. They are not flat plastic like the NASCAR ones. Don't know but touching his backend did exactly, what I was expecting - it lifted his back so he lost control instantly.
IRL: yes. iRacing: Very much no. iRacing is good at many things, but it's awful at simulating contact. The physics engine flips out at the smallest touch, and sends one or both cars spinning
