Absolutely! Problem is, some horses don’t care for “salted” grain, just like some people aren’t fans of sodium in their food. If your horse turns up his nose when you top dress salt or electrolytes, look for a more palatable form such as pellets that use alfalfa, beet pulp, or another tasty foodstuff - even flavors - to mask the taste of the salt. While some horses gobble up electrolytes in their grain, others can be a bit wary so for these guys, you might also want to start slow, with a half serving, then gradually add more til your horse is getting his full serving.
