I was 12 years old. My parents wouldn’t let me by this tape. So my friends and I went to the public library. You could check out the record. Just 3 12 year olds sitting in the back of the young adult section with three sets of headphones hooked up to one record player. Rocking out as quietly as possible. The 80s rocked.
What a great story, nothing beats you & friends havin a great time. I tell my son to enjoy his childhood cause 1 day your our age, lol. Thanks for sharing Tom and enjoy the day.
You poor guy my parents literally didnt even know where i was at that age. They were to busy working and let the world raise us. And yes the 80's were fun lolol
Yep. I live in Fort Lauderdale and they played this song so many times at the Doll House when I was a young immature carefree adult. Every weekend they got a portion of my paycheck. 😂
@@onionhead5780 Ah, I'd love to go back and be that immature young carefree adult. I'm now retired and more or less carefree but hanging out in strip clubs is a non-starter now.
True, Chris . You don't need an interpreter to realize it's a tune like Cat Scratch Fever , that they really should do. I've been waiting on that one ,J & Amber. That's what Ted opened Cal Jam 78 with..
Leave it to Motley to do a song about their favorite strip clubs. If you watch any of the episodes of "Behind the Music" or other documentaries covering the hair bands from the Sunset Strip in L.A., you'll find almost all of them talk about how they owe their survival to the local strippers. The dancers all had money, and the bands were all broke, so the girls provided them with food and often helped out with rent and other bills on top of it.
When I was in high school, one of the New York radio stations was having a school spirit contest. Whichever school submitted the most signatures would win a concert by Motley Crue. I remember signing my name at least 500 times. Anyway, we won but our principal wouldn't allow them to come to our school. In order to see them, we had to go into NYC, manhattan. So my mother decided to rent a limo and took me, my brother, and two of my friends into the city and it was such a good time. It was a small venue and my ears rang for 3 days after, but what a show. Three of my friends made it onto the stage as well. Was so grateful for that, will never forget that great memory.
Super underrated?? Whaaaaah 😜....dude, in the 80s and 90s Mars was considered to one of THE TOP 10 guitarists ever 👍in music back in those days. He was up there with Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Santana, allll those greats....he's still a legend 👏 👍
The girls who dressed like this and danced in these old videos were called "video vixens." They made a TON of money, especially in 80s music videos for hair bands - Whitesnake (Tawny Kitaen RIP :( ), Bobbie Brown (Warrant), Sharise Neil, who was in this Motley Crue video and married to lead singer Vince Neil, and even Alisha Silverstone (Aerosmith). When rock became out of fashion, the video vixens switched to hip hop videos.
One by one, Amber is listening to all the songs she missed from the early days the RSR channel when it was just Jay. Great... another reaction to another useless, redundant 80's hair band. Probably requested by subscribers to this channel that started listening to music AFTER 1980. I feel sorry for them.
I had this album on cassette back in the day. One thing I always liked about this song is how Mick Mars makes the guitar sound like a motorcycle engine. It was so badass back then.
Mick Mars is a guitar wizard… not the “genius master of all guitars in the world” but he’s definitely up there with Van Halen, I’d say: Van Halen makes a guitar sing, and Mick makes it sound like motorcycles… my favorite guitarist, for sure
OMG, Motley Crue was at the height of their debauchery when this album, came in 87: it was on this tour that bassist Nikki Sixx overdosed on heroin, the paramedics pulled the sheet over his head, but then one of them made one last attempt to revive him with two cardiac needles of adrenaline into his heart! The release party for this album was held at The Body Shop on The Sunset Strip in Hollywood. Initially MTV only allowed this video to be played after 8pm before eventually making it the first video to be banned fro, the network.
This song was THE theme song at all topless clubs nationwide. It was played loud right at shift change so all girls from both shifts were all up on tables at one time.

I'm 59 and still love hair metal, I graduated high school in 1981. My first concert I ever went to was KISS in 1977 on Christmas day at what used to be the Summit here in Houston, where the Rockets used to play. I don't think there was a month that went by without going to a concert until 1989 when my son was born. Kids have a funny way of making you get your financial priorities in order quick! Out of all the concerts I went to I will cherish the last on I went to, which was Motley Crue on their ending tour in 2017, I took my son, and my grandson. It was freakin' awsome. My grandson still talks about it to this day! If you want to check out a modern version of hair metal, which I think is awesome, check out "Pop Evil, Boss' Daughter". This was the first tour where Tommy had the 360° rotating drum kit (but only "East to West" - Not forwards and backwards (that got added on the next tour.)-He still needed oxygen to play his solo (he had blood not delivering enough oxygen to his brain, mechanically - Never mind any drugs he might have been on!). I saw then with David Coverdale's l.a. version of Whitesnake [The one where he destroyed the band who recorded the album: John Sykes - guitars, voice; Aynsley Dunbar - drums; Neil Murray - bass, voice and replaced them with a "straight-out-of-l.a." band, which never played on that 1987 album, but was in the videos! (which was): Vivian Campbell - guitars [ex-Dio]; Tommy Aldridge - drums [ex-Ozzy Osbourne, ex-Pat Travers Band, ex-Black Oak Arkansas (wherein he, effectively, invented every style & 'move' for '80s metal drumming (in the '70s!!!!🤘🤘)-)] Rudy Sarzo - bass [also formerly in Ozzy Osbourne's band, Randy Rhoads' old friend and, also, in the re-boot version of: Quiet Riot, from the '80s!] and Adrian Vandenberg - guitars [This Dutch shredder was the ONLY member of the band who had performed on the 1987, self-titled Whitesnake album. Adrian cut a single solo on that (for his friend, John Sykes!). Adrian had had U.S. radio success, with his OWN band [Vandenberg] in the early '80s. "Wait" and "Burning Heart" were hits and received tons of rock radio airplay. The first 2 studio albums were full of juicy melodic metal. "Your Love Is In Vain" is a 'go-to'!!!!🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥🔥 ...anyway: Vandenberg split after 3 albums and Adrian was, generally, doing studio work ...before David Coverdale moved his solo project: Whitesnake, to the U.S. & reconfigured them.]) Whitesnake opened. Crüe were the headliner. This album SUCKS ...but, as ever!: The Crüe knew how to put on a show. ...but: it was 1987 and ...labels had taken over. Cliff Burton had died. Thrash-Metal became a blip on the wider public's consciousness, because: Metallica (now, w/Jason Newsted) did the thing they said they would never do: release a video [the video for: "One"] and, the Damaged Justice tour (and the following segments in the summer and fall) brought in massive crowds. ...by 1990: Lars would take the band from: Thrash-Metal to radio rawk, with: "Enter Sandman" and bring in a new, less intent generation of 'tallicA fans. ...leading to the need for: Public Enemy, Living Colour, N.W.A., Nine Inch Nails, Smashing Pumpkins, Faith No More, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains [THE metal act of the '90s!], Soundgarden and (of course), the massively punk-influenced Nirvana. (as well as N.W. compatriots such as the long-grinding: MELVINS (et al.!). ...This was the upsurge (upDIRGE) of what became known as "hair metal" and the dilution of everything that had started the 1980s & been cool! ...The last gasp. ...but: it led to good things, despite !! -and, yes: Tommy's rotating drum kit was a cool-ass showpiece and fun beyond measure!!🤘🤘🔥
Another fun band to check out, is Steel Panther. They are an American comedic glam & hair metal band. They have shall we say rather interesting lyrics, not for young ears. During live shows, they pull up someone from the audience to play guitar or drums and perform a Van Halen cover.
Recommend Johnny Winter. Texas lightning blues guitarist. Signed record contract in 69. Played at Woodstock, unfortunately manager thought they wouldn’t make any money so kept his set from movie. First guitarist on cover of Guitar Player magazine. 3 Grammys for producing Muddy Waters. One of the greatest live records with Rick Derringer as second guitarist. First white musician in Blues hall of Fame.
Thanks for reminding of me of another concert I've seen so I can add Rick Derringer to my list of live concerts I've attended in my life, so far. Up to 58 concerts since 1973. I've got lots and lots more to see before my time is up!
At least y'all didn't choose the explicit version of the video. Several other reactors on TH-cam accidentally chose that version, and boy did they get an eyeful. Great song either way.
Now that you've done this song, you should react to another song of the same name (Girls, Girls, Girls) by British pop band Sailor! It's a fun song and was a huge hit in the seventies!
I saw this tour live in Tulsa, was close to the stage, it was loud and great. This was the one were Tommy played his drums at a 90-degree angle on the stage.
Before I clicked the reaction video I questioned whether it was the video or lyrics reaction 😂😂😂…. Another 80s band y’all need to dive into is Winger, maybe “Seventeen”, or “Headed For A Heartbreak” just to name a couple. 😎🤘
This totally takes me back to my junior year in high school. September 16, 1987 Motley Crue played the second night of their Dallas, TX stop at Reunion Arena with Whitesnake opening the show, and that whole night was such a fun concert. At one point, the singer Vince Neil introduced Stephen Pearcy and Robin Crosby, the lead singer and co guitarist of RATT, on stage and they all played Rock n Roll by Led Zeppelin. As a 16 year old kid, I thought, this doesn’t get any better than this. I was also really impressed by MickMars’ guitar tone, the overall tone of his guitar was so ridiculously full, that there was really no need for a rhythm guitar player during a solo. And speaking as a guitarist myself, that’s typically unheard of. Such great times. Thanks for the trip down memory lane! I love checking out your channel. Y’all have a great new year!
I was never a huge fan of the Crüe during this time but they would always come up with these catchy songs so I ended up listening to them. Shout At The Devil was my first. Good song. Has Amber listened to Jump by VH yet? If not then she should.
You should've seen them on this tour..my senior year of high school, my best friend & I, No Adult types, front row & hanging on to the baracade. It was definitely one of my best memories from the 80s & high school.
You guys make me smile every time I tune in. A job well done. Amber you are correct as rap is 10 times worse on women. Keep doing y’all’s thing and bringing it every day. 💯💕👍😊
Thee Dollhouse IV (yes, with two e’s; that’s not a typo) near (not actually in) Fort Lauderdale, the Tattletale Lounge in Atlanta, the Seventh Veil in Hollywood, Crazy Horse in Paris, the Body Shop in West Hollywood, the Marble Arch in Vancouver, and the Hollywood Tropicana in Los Angeles are or were (some are still open, others long closed) all real strip clubs where the band went. The Hollywood Tropicana is where Vince Neil met his later wife (now ex-wife) Sharise Ruddell, who was working there as a ring girl and mud wrestler.
Man, I'll tell you what...the thing that makes Motley so good was the good good riffs. Mick Mars wasn't trying to be Eddie Van Halen... Micks in a class all by himself. 'You're all I need' is another really good one. Good Good riffs.
Always loved Motley Crew because it was just fun kick ass music…nothing like it before or since…but that’s ok because they did it and we can enjoy it forever!
Great band, great album, great title song from my High School days in 1987! Still waiting for both of you to react to Ozzy Osbourne with Randy Rhoads live 1981 "Mr. Crowley" "Suicide Solution" "I Don't Know" or "Crazy Train" as you have to watch Randy Rhoads play live and these are rare for me 2021 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee who tragically died in a plane crash less than a year after the 1981 "After Hours" show on March 19, 1982. To learn more about Randy and his legacy, to include being the founder of Quiet Riot in the mid70s before they became famous following his death with Metal Health which Motley Crue 's Nikki Sixx once auditioned for before getting famous. Movie is called "Randy Rhoads: Reflections of a Guitar Icon" and it is on Amazon Prime.
Yes...this was a fun one but the women were willing for the guys in the bands. It was an era of good times and often with few limitations for sure. It sure was a fun song to dance to whenever the opportunity exists.
MC knows how to appreciate the beauty of a real woman. The girls in the places they mention are top notch. They are beautiful, have almost flawless bodies, and entertain without being too raunchy. FYI - The girl Vince (the lead singer) carries out of the bar is Sharice. He married her and had a daughter with her back in the day. Unfortunately, that little beauty herself died at a young age of some type of cancer and they soon divorced. It is portrayed in their movie "The Dirt." Hope you guys get a chance to watch it before your next MC reaction so you can let us know...unless you already have and I haven't seen that part.
Oh the 80's. I lived it. I loved it. I survived it (I think). And yes, it WAS all that! The only thing I don't miss? The small fortune spent on Rave hairspray, curling irons and ripping up perfectly good, brand new t-shirts. What a TIME to be alive. I'd go back in a heartbeat. It was wonderful!
It's pretty much the national anthem of Adult Gentleman's Clubs for the past 40+ years - I frequented the Dollhouse in Ft. Lauderdale quite a few times back in the day
Always stoked to see you guys react to a Crue song!!! If a big time rock band tried coming out with this song today I would almost bet that there'd be an uproar about it degrading women and whatnot. The 80's definitely fostered and boosted this kind of stuff. is it degrading? Maybeeeee. Does it ROCK? Hell yeah!!! And sometimes, that's all we really want. No politics, no message, no class. Haha!!!
A criminally underrated and often overlooked band is Junkyard! Check out Hollywood, Shot In The Dark, Simple Man, Misery Loves Company. You'll love 'em!!!!
The home video also had an unedited topless version of this video. And yes. Mic mars horribly underrated as a guitarist. Also I’m sure it’s still played in strip cubs to this day
I was a Crue fan from the early 80’s. Then at a snooty college party, with upper crust wannabes, I heard this on the radio. I yelled for everyone to shut up, because the Boys were back.
Tommy and the girls fight over the last can of hair spray. Love it. Never had hair that teased up, but did have a ponytail when I played in a band in college. Mick was Mick. Just doing his own good thing. The whole band had a vibe, but the music was usually very solid. I liked them. Still do.
I love the bikes, in that video. Check out "Hooligan's Holiday", by Mötley Crüe. It has a different singer (John Corabi) on it. It'll make you want a ride fast. It's on one of my biker playlists.
Oh man, I would’ve loved to have seen that. Tho honestly would’ve preferred a switch between them. Motley Crue as the opener and GNR as the headliner. I just always preferred GNR.
Right on, White Snake opened here in Phoenix, my first concert with my new roommates after graduating HS and moving to the desert to go to school. I was the first person in the apartment and a dude walks in, spots the Maiden poster and bong and says in the strongest Tennessean accent, "we're gonna get along just fine". A group of us went, it was cool because we were all from different states in a new place and liked the same music. Damn time flies..

I saw then with David Coverdale's l.a. version of Whitesnake
[The one where he destroyed the band who recorded the album:
John Sykes - guitars, voice; Aynsley Dunbar - drums; Neil Murray - bass, voice
and replaced them with a "straight-out-of-l.a." band, which never played on that 1987 album, but was in the videos!
(which was):
Vivian Campbell - guitars [ex-Dio];
Tommy Aldridge - drums [ex-Ozzy Osbourne, ex-Pat Travers Band, ex-Black Oak Arkansas (wherein he, effectively, invented every style & 'move' for '80s metal drumming (in the '70s!!!!🤘🤘)-)]
Rudy Sarzo - bass [also formerly in Ozzy Osbourne's band, Randy Rhoads' old friend and, also, in the re-boot version of: Quiet Riot, from the '80s!]
and
Adrian Vandenberg - guitars [This Dutch shredder was the ONLY member of the band who had performed on the 1987, self-titled Whitesnake album.
"Your Love Is In Vain" is a 'go-to'!!!!🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥🔥
...anyway: Vandenberg split after 3 albums and Adrian was, generally, doing studio work
...before David Coverdale moved his solo project: Whitesnake, to the U.S. & reconfigured them.])
Whitesnake opened.
Crüe were the headliner.
This album SUCKS ...but, as ever!: The Crüe knew how to put on a show.
...but: it was 1987 and ...labels had taken over.
Cliff Burton had died.
Thrash-Metal became a blip on the wider public's consciousness, because: Metallica (now, w/Jason Newsted) did the thing they said they would never do: release a video [the video for: "One"] and, the Damaged Justice tour (and the following segments in the summer and fall) brought in massive crowds. ...by 1990: Lars would take the band from: Thrash-Metal to radio rawk, with: "Enter Sandman" and bring in a new, less intent generation of 'tallicA fans.
...leading to the need for:
Public Enemy, Living Colour, N.W.A., Nine Inch Nails, Smashing Pumpkins, Faith No More, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains [THE metal act of the '90s!], Soundgarden and (of course), the massively punk-influenced Nirvana.
I Remember hearing this song at a young age while watching ‘Indian in the cupboard’ lol😂
I saw them in concert during the tour for this album and the drummer his drum set got lifted in the air and he played the drums upside down
Another fun band to check out, is Steel Panther.
Great reaction!! MC has so many fun songs! Love that Amber loves this one!!
These guys had a blast during the 80’s and they always never failed watching them live!! Tommy one of my fav drummers!!
Wife here..OMG..This was on constant rotation in the 80's on MTV
Next to Shout at the Devil, the Girls Girls Girls album is top notch. 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
Hear hear! I pasted the link to it in my comment above.
Amber, if you want a Crue ballad, check out “Without You” or “Your all I need”. The second one is a bit dark though. It’s a murderous ballad. :p
Have you done the band The Warning? All female, sisters from Mexico! They ROCK! "Evolve" is a great song🎸🤘💕
I concur.
Thanks for the recommendation, I will check it out.
The best version of this song was a British Band called Sailor in 1976.
Amber & Jordan, Amber has not done Jump from Van Halen either. Jordan did it on his own. Come on Amber, check out Van Halen's Jump music video.
Was a big 70s concert-goer, but loved the Crue. Never got to see them in concert, something I deeply regret. The 80s were a fantastic time too.
Yep well I ended every night of work with this song lol and meet them because of that job
So you’re saying you were a librarian? 😂❤
Women made that happen. Guys werent talking bad about girls in 50s.
There's also a uncensored version of girls girls
Y'all have GOT to do a reaction to The Dirt on Netflix! It's about Crüe and super good!
Great reaction y'all! Motley Crue was one of the first "hair" bands I fell in love with!
I live right down the street from Tattle Tails 😂 everyone always brings this song up when visiting.
Love their song Dr Feelgood ...play that sometime.
This is some world class hard rock rhythm guitar...
Motley Crue was the biggest band in the world when this came out. For a little while anyway. Great times they were! 🤙🏼
You guys haven’t reacted to RATT in almost a year. You loved them then, you should check out “Wanted Man” or “Lay It Down” Both have fun videos!
Lack of Communication is one my favorites by them. I recorded it off the radio onto a cassette when I was in high school. Those were the days.🤘🎸😜
Haha!!!
The uncensored video is even better 😁
@inboxThe_Rob_Squad_Reactions I'm independently wealthy. You hit me up and I'll have something special for you.
A criminally underrated and often overlooked band is Junkyard! Check out Hollywood, Shot In The Dark, Simple Man, Misery Loves Company. You'll love 'em!!!!
My brother took me to see them in Denver. My first concert ever. Great time
Saw them live in 85 in OKC
The home video also had an unedited topless version of this video. And yes. Mic mars horribly underrated as a guitarist. Also I’m sure it’s still played in strip cubs to this day
I was a Crue fan from the early 80’s. Then at a snooty college party, with upper crust wannabes, I heard this on the radio. I yelled for everyone to shut up, because the Boys were back.
Hell Yeah!
Yes, peak Motley Crue…I had a best friend who was a massive fan so I experienced this in real time. Enjoy!🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
My favorite song of theirs, always loved the video
Tommy and the girls fight over the last can of hair spray. Love it. Never had hair that teased up, but did have a ponytail when I played in a band in college. Mick was Mick. Just doing his own good thing. The whole band had a vibe, but the music was usually very solid. I liked them. Still do.
I love the bikes, in that video. Check out "Hooligan's Holiday", by Mötley Crüe. It has a different singer (John Corabi) on it. It'll make you want a ride fast. It's on one of my biker playlists.
I saw this tour in 87.... Motley Crue was the headliner and Guns N Roses was the opening act. Incredible show!!!
Sounds like a good time!
This song was a check list for when I was travelling!
