    Plant 160 cloves of garlic with me throughout my small suburban backyard (and front yard) while I breakdown the different varieties I'm trying this year. Along with my self saved garlic seed and how I braid hardneck garlic!

      And you popped up 😂
      I thought we could only do softneck in Texas? I'm just south of Denton

      @@PeaceLoveandPreppingIt's suggested to do soft neck but, I've grown hardneck for years with no issues. Now much further south into Texas near the Gulf/southern border it's best to chill them in fridge for 4-6 weeks before planting in November to get bigger heads of garlic

    I have some garlic growing now. I planted it in-between my cabbage and it's under an insect netting

    I'm in Liberty Hill! I put mine down the week of Halloween and they all have small sprouts going into the cold. I'm excited to see them take off in the spring! This is my first time growing

    Got any extra of the big ''uns you wanna trade? I'm in RR. Alternatively, which farmers market and do they still have? Would like to try something aside the HEB garlic this year.

    When do you purchase your garlic? It never fails that I get to November and say "oh I need to plant garlic" and there's never garlic available to buy by then.

      @@fromthegardenchannel Thanks! I'm going to put a reminder in my phone. I probably live about an hour and half south of you, so I've found your videos helpful.

    Have you ever planted way late? I was totally not prepared and planted early January (soft necks) I know it’s a learning experience what are the chances I’ll get a decent harvest?…

      @@madisonhoneycutt5055 soft neck give you much better chances! I think you still have a margin where you will get some heads

    Do you do an organic garden?

    • @fromthegardenchannel
      @fromthegardenchannel  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@carolzapatabooksandstuff4909 by that do you mean do I use pesticides? If that's your question then yes I have an organic garden. If you mean do I only plant organic certified seeds? Then no. Many small companies simply cannot afford the certification that is required to be technically labeled as organic but they still use organic practices and are worth supporting. I don't even use sprays that are listed as omri safe for organic gardening.
