Its been this way for years now i noticed how efficient he became back in Brooklyn. He never lets his ego get in the way of the team or feels a need to have the ball for long periods of time. Averaging just under 27 pts, 6 asts, 5 rebs shooting 48/39/90 with less than 2.5 turnovers for the past 5 years is other worldly

    • @VVVY777

Meh. Still lacks the most important ability : availability. Otherworldly? Stop overrating him. His impact on winning since leaving Cleaveland has been a net negative.

Facts, I’ve always loved the physicality in which he plays. I’ve always said you can’t ever have somebody around his size guarding him not only because of his handle but his strength and the way he plays through contact. The people guarding him have to 6’5 and up in my opinion to even have a chance.

He literally did nothing wrong in Boston the young players wanted bigger roles and money his 2nd year so he left as a free agent Boston never offered him a contract. Bk what exactly did he do? He missed 4 games during blm riots while having a 90/50/40 season leading the team in games played and got hurt. Then he was against a vaccine mandate that the players never agreed to. The team suspended him never stuck up for his right to play they unethically offered him 250m if he got vaccinated. The next season he was going to lose his bird rights if he didn’t resign before end of the season. The Nets went 18-2 in December and the nets told him they will not resign him even if he wins a chip. So what exactly are you saying the locals don’t like him for? He posted a link to a movie about a theory on lost black history and it was labeled antisemitic because it had 2 sentences referencing a former president’s quote about Hitler in a 6 hour movie. The nba is literally partners with Amazon. There isn’t any conspiracy.. ja morant got into an altercation with a minor and the nba didn’t even cover it. He posted pics with a gun and was suspended less time then kyrie was for a link. Josh Giddey posted a vid of himself saying he hooked up with a minor nba didn’t suspend him because he didn’t commit a crime. What crime did kyrie commit? Nike ended their contract with kyrie then signed Ja morant for millions post fighting a minor. There is no conspiracy. These are bs narratives created about kyrie. Okay he didn’t get vaccinated? The nba literally had the bubble in the worst time of the pandemic because they believed they had the right to make money. But when the nbapa agreed for no vaccine mandate and the state said kyrie can’t play they never once stuck up for his right to make money. They allowed the Nets to suspend him. You are just going off of bs narratives created by the media and nba not by actual facts.

I'm from bklyn and hearing these comments that he changed his style in Brooklyn is crazy lol--He was shaking and crossing cats in bk more than he is now. Especially since he was the closer 4th qtr
I personally think he changed bc he grew up. He understands as great as Luka is, his style is limited-- Luka can't play off the ball, come off screens, spot up shoot, or slash/ move w o the ball. So he's FORCED to complement Luka for his tenure in Dallas to work. He takes pride in being a balanced player and he can do all those things I mentioned. Luka is already a slow paced half court player so Kyrie is forced to be attack straight to the point-- It's not a fast paced style where he can flow better. He has to do these things with LBJ n I think ppl didn't appreciate bc he had to complement LBJ (for the same reasons I mentioned cuz LBJ can't play off the ball well either. He gotta be have the ball n pick n roll)
2nd I think injuries and aging plays a part. Fractured knee cap, icing up, his stop and go style will shorten his shelf life.

Ngl I loved to watch Kyrie flashy plays, ridiculous reverse layup, ankle breaker dribble.
But all this stuff don't win games, and as NBA Basketball now becomes more strategic and more fundamentals than flashy plays, considering Euro players taking over the league.
Kyrie doesn't want to get behind and is adapting as a player to the current situation of the league.
He already showed us what he is capable of as Uncle Drew.
Now it's time to see his scoring capability, and so far he is not disappointing.
Much success to Uncle Drew, in case I miss his plays he collect bones, we all have his good old highlights.

not gonna lie...i suspect Kyrie studied Kobe's games because he looks so much more efficient from his triple threat than before. More patient too i think.
Kyrie always had a strong first step, light feet, balance and the handle to do this. But recently it looks like soooo much less wasted movement and more precise efficent footwork.
I remember how much Kyrie looked up to Kobe and challenged him. So its def a possibility. Also he's doing similar fakes to in the pocket to get the defenders off their feet and draw contact on his shot.

If Steve Nash had an elite jumper and cut that 'pass first' mentality is what i'm seeing
He came into the league with Nash's balance and control and he adds Luka's slow probe on top of the fact that the defence have to respect his stupid quick drives and programmed counters.
He finally looks like a number 1, and im all for it
(this is ofc when Luka's not on the court, bc 6'9 guard with body motion control is a cheat code)
