    Kizer has so much variety that it's hard to not find a model that you like. I have the Begleiter in just vg10 and g10 and it's great IMHO. I also received a couple of different Kizers (the Splinter and V3) as birthday gifts and again, they are so different that there seems to be a little of something for everyone.

    • @JTsKnifeLife
      @JTsKnifeLife  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely. And honestly, some of the designs are better suited to more usable materials like G10, and anything really upgraded would be too much.
      Really cool that Kizer gives you multiple options with each design that way!

    I would love to have one of those.. simple yet perfected.

    This is a classic, probably the first truly world-class knife Kizer produced. I love the full flat grind - something the Russians (and Spyderco) do so well. I even prefer this one over the Ursa Minor. Understated elegance. The way they finish knives like this is almost glass like. I've never had a Kizer with this sort of finish, always wondered how it would wear.

      Interesting point. I've never seen a picture if one that's beat up. Maybe I'll have to revisit this topic down the road!

    Oh also, I should mention I have handled both the megatherium and the Zugang w/ plain scales and they are both incredible with fit and finish. I sold the mega because the ergos weren't my favorite, but the Zugang is a keeper. Its essentially everything I hoped the War Admiral would be from VDK (which I also owned and sold).

    Last year I had zero Kizers. Nine months later I own 8, including Bladesmith, Activ Bantam, and Vanguard series. I have both the Vanguard Dukes and it's larger Bladesmith version. In my opinion the Vanguard Dukes is a "must have" Kizer.

      That model is really attractive. That's one that calls to me, I feel like I'm supposed to own one hahaha.

    The Gemini is probably my favorite Kizer and one I've nearly bought in the past. Ray Laconico makes some gorgeous knives and his work really shines through on the Gemini. I'd prefer the G10 version without the cuts but that's minor. Really cool that it looks like it has the letters ppb the spine of the knife, I think he does the frequently with his customs. Kizer is an intriguing company, I really should try out something from them. Look forward to seeing the other two knives get screen time as they are some other designs that look really nice.

    I was expecting a simple spring clip, but mine came with a milled ti clip. Didn’t expect that! The grip is great too, doesn’t slip! Overall great edc👍

    Great review jt. And yes the Vanguard version of this would be a hood one to pick up for the action alone. I had one, traded it, and regretted it up until i won this one lol. Now if only i could get my paws on the custom (jasmine) from the man himself. Keep up the amazing vids brother!

    I like simple knives that are functional..Kizer makes some great knives.. I'm just not a fan of flippers.. But, I've finally branched out from Spydercos and Benchmades..These other companies are offering a lot for the money. I picked up a Real Steel Gekko in micarta (incredible knife) and 2 Cutjacks..Still don't like the flippers but great knives..
    I'm looking into Kizers. The three you showed are all really nice..Love that Rogue.
    Good video..

      I'm also not a real fan of flippers though I do have three at the moment & one more on the way. There are just too many great looking knives with outstanding features & steels designed around the currently very popular flipper action to pass them all up.
      I also got stuck in the Benchmade & Spyderco groove and decided to expand my [knife] world-view.
      The flipper I just ordered has a lot of the simplicity appeal that this Kizer does. It's a ZT 0220

      @JTsKnifeLife  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've been thinking about that Gekko model for a while. Looks very nice. Glad you're branching out too!

    I have that same titanium Gemini, it's a great knife with great action. Clean and simple! Might be one i'm selling though, just too many knives lol But I agree, i think it is a nice gentleman's knife.

      Although I have the titanium clip they updated the newer gemini with. Much better clip than that one IMO

      EDC with Aaron ~ Hey there, thanks for the offer, but I'm just going to sell it. I just bought a few more knives so I want to get some money back :) Once I start getting too many I feel bad having a lot, I try to keep everything in rotation though. But my Kizer has barely been carried, and only have cut a little paper with it (to test factory edge). So I would rather it go to a good home to get used! :) Good luck with your channel though, I just watched some of your vids

    Hi JT! Great review. Imho, Kizer truly offers great bang for the knife buying buck. My favorite knife is my Kizer T1. It has amazing action, a unique micro finish on the titanium, and because it's a thumb stud open only - the design is elegantly clean. BTW, I survived Irma...after 8 days without power my 1st world problems became 3rd world problems!

    • @JTsKnifeLife

      Glad you are okay. I hope you are all restored and set up soon! Good to know about another great Kizer model!

    • @SkyBridgeRE
      @SkyBridgeRE 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree on the T1, awesome knife, the design, the way the handle flows into the blade, is beautiful while being simple. Blade flies out with thumb stud and has a great sound that makes you want to play with it all day.

    I’ve wanted this knife for the past two years. I love the look! But I can’t justify spending $170 on a China made knife

    • @JTsKnifeLife
      @JTsKnifeLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I reached that point as well a while back. It is a bummer, cause so much good stuff is made there.

    • @jeffreyjohn1691
      @jeffreyjohn1691 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JTsKnifeLife yeah it’s weird, I’ll spend $600 on a China made TV but not $170 on a knife

    • @JTsKnifeLife
      @JTsKnifeLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jeffreyjohn1691 The difference is, if there were hundreds of non chinese TV options you'd probably choose one of those as well. There's just so many good knives that aren't from China that any more it just seems irresponsible to support them when you don't have to. I've tried to avoid purchasing Chinese when I can, in general. It's a process.

    Im not a fan of the titanium framelock's not many companies do them right imo,(if it takes a spine wack) it's probably done right,but many 200.00 plus can't take a spine bump let alone wack.

    • @JTsKnifeLife
      @JTsKnifeLife  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is true, a lot just don't hold up. Consistency is key, but that's pretty hard to achieve I suppose.
