    I love these short strategy VLOGs Phil, even as a long term winner at mid-stakes I find myself learning new things.

    appreciate all the tips... I really need to start writing stuff down, what to look for in which situations, when to bet larger, smaller... so much I have learned, yet nothing compared to what there is to learn. This game lights up my brain!

    Great informative video. The last tip of picking your spots correctly , especially multi-way (more prominent in live poker), really hits home. I’ve realized how bad I’ve played a lot of spots preflop where I thought I have an edge but in reality it’s the opposite.

    “When they’re bad enough I’ll play any hand”, I laughed because that’s exactly my thought process.

      I’ve raised 92 off on the button to people who don’t defend enough.
      If they call you can be careful, but mostly you are printing 3.5 blinds

    One thing I always try to focus on is the two people on my direct left, either tournament or cash game. Do they play tight, medium, or loose ranges? When I'm on the button, they are in the blinds.

    Phil I wonder if you could one day talk about this situation: you're at a table where limping is SUPER common. I've been in games where, say 70% of the time, every player who enters the hand limps. Say if you know that 70% of the time you limp or call a limp, everyone behind you only calls or folds - what is the best adjustment? I adjust by limping in with a lot of middle to weak hands I'd usually fold, those with some sort of implied odds, like almost suited anything, then playing mostly fit or fold post flop, and continuing to raise my "normal" range pre. I wonder if that is good strategy though

    Hey Phil! Can you talk about the ev change of certain hands vs tight pfr in plo? As the game is more merged i find difficult to adjust in the bb vs like a tight utg opener.

    What i got from this video: when I play Phil Galfond I can raise his BB every time and he will always call me :p

    Hey Phil Thanks for the cool content as usual.
    Imagine BB is overdefending but under 3 betting
    Is under3betting is most relevent than the fact that V is defending too much hands?
    Would you open wider cause he is under3betting or Tighter cause he is defending too much?

    Does this only apply if you have > than say 50BB? Seems like strategy changes when you’re in a tournament. I’d expect most cash game players start with at least 100BB live and reload before hitting 50BB.

    A thing I can't figure out is: how important are preflop adjustments in terms of EV and winrate? Of course depends on the player pool, assume it's low stakes.

    • @CancelIFR
      @CancelIFR 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It adds a lot of EV because if people over fold, you win money you shouldn't and if they don't 3bet enough, you get to realize 3 cards of equity too often and win more money.
