Only straight coming particals can reach to the gold foil (lead have radiation absorbing power).
Actually Rutherford had used 40 nm thin gold foil😅 you can get information from chatgtp or Google 😅

Anyone please explain if rays are returning back in same direction as they were shot then the angle formed must be 0° right..? Why 180° is being taught instead..? The book i use for reference also didn't mention 180° angle is formed.

0⁰ is for no deflection. Here the alpha particle bounces back i.e it turns 180⁰ and goes back to the source.
