The pass protection/defense was horrible in the first half of the season - ranked 31st I think.
What do you credit the turnaround to?
Did this happen post bye week or were they improving prior to then (I remember the 1st Steelers game was low scoring and victory was stolen by missed FGs).

It’s a credit to them really moving marlo into the slot, Nate to the outside full time, and putting ardarius deeper far more, as well as Kyle Hamilton playing deep a little more often, and cutting Eddie and benching Marcus, and then they aren’t trying to have the whole defense disguise, just the slot and safeties, the ravens linebackers where more worried about dropping to a spot, instead of dropping to match receivers, because they were often times out of position at the snap to try to disguise defense, but now they are in better position pre snap to cover post snap

As for the offensive line, i think it was just a matter of the lineman finally settling in since 3 of them were new to starting roles (Rosengarten is a rookie, Faaelele and mekari both didn’t really have full time starting roles before and were actually still fighting for their positions in preseason).
I think the issues were very similar between both the o line and the defense . They both just needed some time to settle in and find their rhythm with so many new players/coaches

That’s what I think I just don’t think the Steelers have the offense to win against the ravens

Question is....Good enough to potentially win defensive rookie of the year?

I don't think so. Other Corner for Det and I think another team was going crazy as well. But I haven't been following the defensive rookies

odds favrotie has been DE from the rams all season. Edge rushers are always favored over CBs for defensive awards

My issue is on the first play. QBs like Josh, Pat, aka the ones we need to beat, they will hit #80 @1:35. As a ravens fan I've been watching the bills and chiefs all year. Pat will take what he can get each and every time and it usually stems from short passes.

    better than Quinyon?

Quinyon is two years older. Nate is already amazing and I look forward to seeing how much more amazing he'll be in two years from now.

@@woofer13 I didn't know about the age, good one. I was going to say Quinyon also has a beastly front 4 putting pressure on the QBs targeting him, they're a front to back team while the Ravens are arguably a back to front team.
Quinyon has the build to hold up better in the run game, but they both have a high ceiling as a coverage player, and he's an incredible value for the back of the 1st round. For me the big thing is that Wiggins has shown he's physical enough to hang and stay healthy, although he'll never be a press specialist, and is learning the defensive scheme well enough to make off script adjustments when necessary.
The next step is trusting his film study and taking more chances for turnovers, he's got the makeup speed to look for the ball and take chances in spots, I'd like him to do it more often.

@@mazeofthemind560 Your response was surprisingly nice. The only thing I can think stood out as something I want to respond to is this part of your last statement,"...he's got the makeup speed to look for the ball and take chances in spots, I'd like him to do it more often." I'd like to see that too. Unfortunately, he's not put on the field nearly as much as he should be. Until then, I'm just glad that I can watch him when he is on the field. lol
