To Heather's point on the death penalty, I'm not sure I understand the comparison that it's better for a guilty person to live a life in prison than for an innocent person to be killed by the state, because one can also argue that it's better for a guilty person to be killed by the state than for an innocent person to live their entire life in prison. Either way, the innocent person is screwed. If it was me wrongly accused I'd rather be executed than live my life in prison, separated from my loved ones with no possibility of parole, for a crime I didn't commit. Where's the QoL in that situation? How would my loved ones get closure and move on knowing I'm in prison suffering all my life for no wrongdoing of my own? At least if I died they could move on at some point knowing I'm no longer suffering. American prison is hell on earth, not a staycay. I'm honestly not sure which penalty is stricter and more harsh, life in prison or capital punishment, but to me life in prison is vastly sustained suffering while execution is brief suffering and by comparison mercy. I think you will find many people disagree on the matter. Some people can handle prison life. Others cannot. We don't hear about them. My solution would be to give the guilty party the option to choose between execution and life in prison for offenses in which the penalty is that severe. I guarantee you many would choose death. History tells us so. Then the wrongfully convicted still have some control over their own path too, whether they want to stay alive in prison with possibly some hope of acquittal, or whether they find that life insufferable and are at peace with greeting death. Imagine living a life in prison with some glimmer of hope you'll one day be found innocent, for decades, for your entire life, and the day never comes, and you die in prison anyways. Was that not another, more torturous form of death penalty?
I agree in general, but allowing people to choose to die (assisted suicide) also has some negative consequences. For me, the fundamental premise is: our justice system isn't supposed to make mistakes in the direction of punishing the innocent, and the price for that is allowing some of the guilty to avoid punishment. That is the design, and that premise is the basis for all forms of punishment. Is it actually true? No. But we must presume it's true to impose any sort of punishment. The death penalty is no different in this regard, because if you say that we can't impose it because the "found guilty" might actually be innocent, they same argument applies to every other punishment. For me, the only reason to use capital punishment is to grant some feeling of revenge to the victims (or their families). They like to use the word "justice", but what they mean is really "revenge". And I can understand how that can help people move on after certain tragedies. It's no different than stories where a father kills the abuser of his daughter - most people understand why he did it, and many would support him. The State replaces the father for many.

@@grannyannie2948 Trump did a video call into the WEF today, and proceeded to talk bad about their green agenda (among other things) to their faces. Relatively large segments of (mostly) downtown Washington, DC get blocked off regularly! They do that for all kinds of reasons & events. There aren't always quite as many LEOs, but it can be such an inconvenience and frustration. It is particularly bad when there's a parade, a march or a marathon; it's not uncommon for an entire area to have no way OUT! Or for there to be no way to reach certain parts of the city without perhaps going to Maryland to get to Virginia, and back into DC (easily a 20-30 mile journey) to get somewhere that's less than a mile away! And then there are the motorcades for the POTUS or foreign dignitaries/heads of state. First a surprising number of police on motorcycles force all traffic to stop & move to the side of the street with an officer stopped about every 50 feet (at most). They "secure" the route quite a long distance ahead of the motorcade, so even though those vehicles come flying through at about twice the speed limit, there's usually a 10-15 minutes wait for them to come through (sometimes longer). And they keep the traffic stopped for another 5 minutes after the procession has passed.
Alaskan here. We call it Denali and will continue....I get the posturing, and appreciate the "in your eye" thing about renaming, but, yeah, it won't work up here really. Denali means "the Great One." It is.
Another Alaskan here. We learned the name of the mountain in school, and the name was Mount McKinley. We also learned that some natively oriented people called it Denali and we didn’t much care. I still don’t care. Just pick a name and stick to it so we can both understand what the hell we’re talking about.
"Gulf of the Americas" would be brilliant! Other than that, I love the Gulf of America renaming because it's so harmless. It's the kind of silly fun that the statists should be focused on. We'd all be far better off.

One of my few points of disagreements in your examination of the executive orders is on the water/Delta smelt issue, while I agree the language could be more clear and articulate and less reductionist, I believe the point here is not the Delta smelt doesn’t matter at all it’s just a realistic acceptance that the existence of LA has consequences and those consequences are that we should prioritize the city if we wish to keep it in existence over the Delta smelt. The issue that LA and all of California has been having for the last 30 to 50 years is a prioritization of warm fuzzy concepts only on their prima facia outcome is taken into consideration which is one of the factors which leads to outcomes like the Palisades fire where just like a plane crash there is not one thing that led it outcome there is a cascade failure that was built on overlapping liberal policy that presumed the payment for those policies would never come due but there are no hall passes for physics and so they have, I think you both agree with me that one of the most important quotes of Thomas Sowell is “there are no choices on trade-offs” the left in California has consistently pretended there are only choices and trade-off do not exist

When I lived in Alaska, I was taught that Denali is what the Natives called God. Because that mountain was the largest in Alaska, it was associated with God.

Obama, Biden, and every other president since Eisenhower could have made this right, but never did.
Bret, you are wrong that it was the modern world discoverers that disrupted the indian culture. The indians themselves energetically demanded and adopted the implements and technology of the modern world, and THAT'S who and what changed their culture. They, themselves did it and what they did was discard their existing technology and ways and adopt things and ways that were easier and better. And of course they would, they weren't stupid, an easier way of doing something comes along and only a fool keeps doing it the less efficient, harder way. The primitive world was on a crash course with the modern world. It was inevitable, could not be avoided. The old, primitive world was going to throw in with and adopt the new world. It was inevitable, could not be avoided. Blaming the European settlers for being the conduit through which the new world reached the old world is silly and a very shallow level of analysis.

The 14th Amendment and Birthright Citizenship I was hoping y'all would talk about this one in the "bad E.O." section. The 14th Amendment should be something that MAGA loves, as it bestows a magical property on America's greatness in a world where the narratives of magic are quickly being eroded. The ability to be an American by simply being born on American soil is a talisman that America needs and, I think, the world needs. I get it that the nationalists hate this concept, seeing it as an unearned reward for illegal trespassing, but they are deeply in the wrong. By all means, let us secure our borders. But if a child from an illegal mother is born on American soil, that child is as American as you or I. The nationalist wants to take that carrot away from possible pregnant illegals in order to prevent such people from attempting to enter illegally, and it may well do that, but what we lose by doing this is far greater and far more existential than the few people born to illegals each year. Next to the 1st Amendment, only the 14th Amendment truly made America a shining and magical jewel. I argue that we need this magical property to show the rest of the world the greatness we stand for, that we are willing to bet our soil on it, and that we believe this ground is blessed. By destroying birthright citizenship, we diminish the philosophy that America is great for all, even the American-born child of an illegal, and we try to replace it with a less magical philosophy-that America is not that special, that it's just an ordinary piece of ground. America needs the magical, mythic thinking of what the 14th represents.

@@margaretvey8330 That is awful. Did they take all your money upon entry to the nursing home? They do that in my country which leaves people with few options. I will pray for you, maybe your children will wake up to themselves.
How the hell did you guys not talk about the RFK, JFK and MLK assassination files? To me, that was by far the most important executive order
Can you guys please switch seats?
LOL..
😅
So agree it's messing with my my
That's funny. I felt the same way... we are creatures of habit😂
❤❤❤
Yes! Stop messing with the rut we are all stuck in! 🤣 Looking at you guys in the "wrong" seats feels like trying to do something with my non-dominate hand...
It’s where North America meats South America. And it’s not being named the Gulf of The United States ffs
No, it's not. The gulf doesn't come anywhere near South America.
The entire landmass is called America so calling it Gulf of America is fitting, instead of calling it Gulf of Mexico which is naming it after a state.
I am still a bit more cautious & concerned about the future of the US. But I am certainly hopeful and looking forward to what the future holds.
Same here. I keep hoping Congress will step up and assume their Constitutional responsibilities; they are the branch of government most accountable to the people. They have outsourced too much of their power to the judicial and executive branches. Hence, all of these executive orders, regardless of party.
I am a young earth creationist, but I enjoy people like Bret and Heather.
mee too
It all feels sureal. Damn near fake. I cant believe how much the mood has changed in this country. I dont think Ive seen this much optimism in the country in my life of 30 years.
I watch MOST episodes, and while yes, Bret and Heather voted Trump, I’ve NEVER heard a mea culpa from them after them saying in Jan of ‘21, the best thing for the country moving forward was for Trump to be impeached so he could never hold office again. Did anyone else catch that?
Yes. I am a big fan of Brett & Heather. But I remember Bret saying he thought it was good that all the FBI, media, elites, etc closed ranks and refuted the Hunter laptop story.
I was shocked at Bret's attitude to that at the time.
t, like you would like to hear an apology for that.
By now I love you both so much! You two (and only a few others)are the ones I trust most to give me information and the lessons to learn how to weight them in the right way. So when Trump ore others in his administration is going the wrong way, I am sure you wil inform us. This gives me a sence of belonging in this world that I lost during covid! Thank you from the bottom of my hart!
I’m excited with the start of the Golden

Listen to his speech at the WEF. This is whats going on behind the ex. order show
Did Trump go to the WEF?
@@grannyannie2948 Via telecast. Excellent speech plus questions & answers
@@grannyannie2948 Trump did a video call into the WEF today, and proceeded to talk bad about their green agenda (among other things) to their faces. I saw it on Right Side Broadcasting Network as a livestream sandwiched between commentary. I think it lasted about a half hour, first him giving an address then with some questions posed to him by CEOs there in an on-stage panel.

I would have loved to attend the MAHA activities. Glad that you were there!
Should join MAGA and MAHA into MAGAHA. Make America Great And Healthy Again.
Damn! I’m sorry our paths didn’t cross. I have never been so cold in my life but was so happy to be there. Great atmosphere in DC.
Bret tip toeing into the realm of Norm Macdonald with that sponsor read😂
Alaskan here. We call it Denali and will continue....I get the posturing, and appreciate the "in your eye" thing about renaming, but, yeah, it won't work up here really. Denali means "the Great One." It is.
Another Alaskan here. We learned the name of the mountain in school, and the name was Mount McKinley. We also learned that some natively oriented people called it Denali and we didn’t much care. I still don’t care. Just pick a name and stick to it so we can both understand what the hell we’re talking about.
Thank you for reminding me why I love you guys!
"Gulf of the Americas" would be brilliant!
Other than that, I love the Gulf of America renaming because it's so harmless.
It's the kind of silly fun that the statists should be focused on.
We'd all be far better off.
I got more analysis and explanation on some of the EOs than any other place. Thank You!
Can you guys switch seats and sit closer together? ❤ I'm so used to your old set up and this feels off...
P.S. is it possible to put the picture lower down on the wall? It's cutting you guys off at the shoulders.
This was a great breakdown. Thank you. Stay warm you two.
The new set looks nice . But please go back to having Heather on screen left and Bret on screen right. Visually looks much better the previous way.
I prefer change so leave it the new way please!
i waited all week for this to drop
Have you stopped to appreciate the fact that what you tried to achieve with unity 2020 has essentially happened?

Not just for the US. This is great for the entire anglosphere, and western civilization.
You got the “sillies” at about the ten minute mark. Nice to see the light mood.
I grew up in Texas and remember fondly “The Gulf of Mexico.” I hate that this gulf is being renamed!
Regarding the meme coin - and THAT is also why I think Elon Musk is perfect for leading DOGE. With his current wealth, he cannot be bribed / lobbied with money as the bait.
Sorry, I feel lost here. Are you not concerned about Trump’s apparent re-launch of MRNA under Stargate?
We went as well, (we had tickets for sun rally, inauguration and parade in bleechers) but when they changed everything we just went and had a nice date weekend in Fredericksburg then went home and watched it on tv. If we had seats we would deal with cold but im not making or allowing my wife to sit in that cold all night when she wasn't feeling well (and i didnt want to do it either, we both wanted to go home)
It was fine, watching the entire coverage. Rontunda, Great hall of congress and finally in the arena, and the balls! One could see it all! Better than frozen to a seat and pneumonia.
@lb8781 yea we watched from home
We're living in the future? Nope not yet. Maybe tomorrow.
America is the same thing as the Americas. The country you live in is the USA. “America” is an unofficial and imprecise abbreviation of that.
Thank you ❤

Ethnocentricity has a negative aspect as well as a positive one. Some say this is necessary to stop us getting where we are now.
What do you think?
I'm not sure I understand the question.
When I lived in Alaska, I was taught that Denali is what the Natives called God. Because that mountain was the largest in Alaska, it was associated with God.
Wow, Heather is a bombshell in that photo in Washington DC.
1:31:06 I heard that there may be an alternative reason for the renaming, related to economic development. I heard that all the restrictions regarding the extraction of resources from the Gulf of Mexico would not apply to the Gulf of America 🤷🏻♂️ it seems silly but laws are often definitionally silly 😂
Wow! I mean... wow. This is so crazy. I knew he was going to go hard, but this is incredible.
You could say hell froze over on Trump's inauguration day hehe
What is the take on why they revoked the insulin price cap. My son is type 1 diabetic and this is a ridiculous thing to revoke. Is it true or is it something misinterpreted by the media?
I have been your biggest fan since Covid days. Carl Zha's ten videos on Red Note being flooded by disgruntled Americans finding out what China is truly like was such an eye opener that I can no longer understand your analysis, namely in this video. I suggest you have a look at them. If the US spent $12T-20T in a manner similar to how China lifted 800m out of poverty, all the people in this hemisphere would today be prosperous. Your jingoism prevents you from seeing straight.
Why does Bret look so good? Younger. Dry fast or haircut?
Edit: Heather looks good too. But I'm more familiar with Bret's look over time.
He may look younger because the worry of the destruction of our country is considerably relieved now that we have an exceptionally great President and leadership team in the White House?
Maybe we're getting their "good sides" since they switched seats 😂
I think Heather is losing weight. Ozempic or? 😅
We here in Europe depend on your administration, while we could not vote. Strange world we live in, but thank God you choose right! Now stay on track and well invormed. Are you paying attention at all to the Executive Orders President Trump has signed and what he explains his goals for the American people and the country are? @@Gunboat48dreamer If you look at his Wikipedia page it is biased, but doesn't distort the fact that he has been politically affiliated with the Reform Party, Democratic Party, and as an Independent before running as a Republican. America is not actually a democracy, but a Constitutional Republic. President Donald John Trump wants a world of peaceful, prosperous, independent, Nation States, engaging in trade and tourism. The most uncharitable, cynical, interpretation of his motivations would be to say that he has a dynastic vision for his family to profit from building luxury hotels and golf courses in formerly war torn countries. However, I think he cares about the American people and is working hard in public service to serve them which is why he gives his annual Presidential salary to charity.
I don't know where you are, but Sky News Australia is not biased towards Trump. Many of their presenters admire him. @@Gunboat48dreamer

Go figure!
DC does this routinely , makes it difficult to get around on a good day .
Don't different countries have different names for the same places? Like gulf of china, gulf of Japan or something? I don't even think they call us The United States of America in other countries just their "version" of it.
On the third point, the value of a meme coin is based on the dollar, which is a fiat currency that will inevitably collapse as this debt based system will follow its natural life cycle.
If the digital currency were backed, even partially, by gold, then it would be viable.
The future of mRNA vaccines... Where is RFK?
Here in SW Idaho; the feds renamed Squaw Butte to Sehewoki'l Newenee'an katete. Really? Who is ever going to use this name? Still, not sure that Denali should be renamed. Again.
In Trumps first four year he did promises made promises kept, he will do the same now.

I'll take tangible actions like this EO from Trump: "FEDERAL RECOGNITION OF THE LUMBEE TRIBE OF NORTH
CAROLINA" over virtue signaling ones like renaming Mt. McKinley any day of the week. It goes to what Elon Musk said at the GFY advertisers convention. We're tired of watching people be more concerned with looking good and doing evil instead of actually doing good. Obama, Biden, and every other president since Eisenhower could have made this right, but never did.
Without further adoo!

The 14th Amendment and Birthright Citizenship
I was hoping y'all would talk about this one in the "bad E.O." section.
I live 30 minutes from the Mexico border …anchor babies are a huge financial strain on our hospitals… women will cross the border, basically in labor and show up at our hospitals where they can’t refuse them, but they have no money to pay
It was called Gulf of Mexico when America was great, but hey, we’re talking about a nation that calls football “soccer”, and still doesn’t use the metric system… Also, 10% of Americans are flat-earthers…
