    I work for ronseal, I make the products but have worked within the r and d and qa departments
    You'd be amazed at how many complaints we get by people who haven't followed the instructions on the tin and them complain about the product
    You gotta do what it says on the tin for it to 'do exactly what it says on the tin'
    Prep is everything 👌🏻

      Yeah , but it doesn’t work on Ipe hardwood .

    Bought this pole aplicator but its so flimsy snapped straight away.... think would be better using a mop wood stick and just screw a cheap sponge to it with a washer 👍

    Hi, What paint did you use on your fence? I love the natural oak look. Thanks

      Hi the fence is this one Autumn gold amzn.to/3o2yrru

    so the "applicator pad" is simply a sponge on a pole. An old floor squeegee springs to mind if you have one (just fit a new sponge to it if necessary)
    real question is do you have any experience of the "decking stripper" as I have very large deck (50m2) that is 2 years old with mostly intact paint but a few small areas where is is either a patchy finish or just starting to flake. I am wondering what to do? sand entire area to remove paint and start again with an oil, or try and touch up the bad points and therefore probably create even more patchiness.

    • @GardenLawncareGuy
      @GardenLawncareGuy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi yes that's what the pad is and it really works! No used the stripper sorry before

  • @jillianparis9473

    You dripped the oul on the deck when you started. Ive used this product a lot and that will show cause you cant even it out plus you were standing on parts youd just oiled. Wouldnt want to see that close up.

    Does the applicator get the oil into the grooves ? Great video, great music. 👍

    • @GardenLawncareGuy
      @GardenLawncareGuy  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I found even with my deck that has deep grooves if I applied pressure down to the pad it would mostly move the oil. There were spots it didn't and they dried fine. Overall it worked great and I didn't use anything other than the pad 👍

  • @stuarthay1
    @stuarthay1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great video GLG. Do you know the coverage a 5litre tin covers in metres square. And once applied and cured does it reduce the slip factor from decking? Thanks again.

    • @GardenLawncareGuy

      It depends abit on the board you have and if there is already oil down (e.g. how much is absorbed) but I think 5l is enough for me on 4.6x3 deck

    Can u use Ultimate Decking oil on the old Formula? I have an old deck which I've always used the original Rosseal Decking old Natural Pine?

    • @GardenLawncareGuy
      @GardenLawncareGuy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Um not an expert but I would say so, the colour will probably be slightly different as the colour will come through but id make sure its clean then I normally do layer oils anyway. It Won't layer on paints etc

      Garden Lawncare Guy my deck is already treated using this product, however as it’s in a part shady spot it’s discolouring and needs refinishing. My question, can. Reapply a darker decking oil over my existing finish? Or would I need to strip the existing finish first?

    • @GardenLawncareGuy
      @GardenLawncareGuy  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@christophephilippe1481 it depends what's important to you, if you want a perfect colour match then strip as it will probably come out slightly different. I would say a clean smooth surface is the most important thing, personally I wouldn't strip back. If really concerned do a test spot.

      I would prefer using a 4" decking brush and going between the joints, as you can see in your video not all of the decking was covered which can in my case reduces the life span. #Tips

    • @richarddunnsongs343
