Quite scary the rate of erosion. The rate seems to be accelerating. I wonder how much dredging for sand off the coast is a factor?
A friend of mine has a caravan on that very site. I will be in Hornsea tomorrow and you can always see busloads of youths from the West Riding and Midlands examining the cliffs as part of the geography curriculum.
Keep the videos coming. In future years they will be a valuable historical record.

I do hope that filming and documenting will have some use in the future...
Thank you for your support 😊

Wow and that’s only two weeks from your last video, I’d be a bit nervous if I was one of them caravan owners. Great video yet again Davy keep up the good work 👏👏👏👍

Cheers Mickey, it's constantly changing...I've noticed so much more by repeat visits.

Erosion is speeding up along there, surprising the caravans haven’t been moved. Well done on raising awareness. Must visit soon but with extra care on the beach with the tide well out.

why arent they putting the huge rocks there as defence ? They've been letting it get eaten away for decades vs other places , in the late 90's i was playing on the rock defence at mappleton

@TheCraigy83 Money gets allocated to many dubious causes....politics is a place I refuse to go 🫣 Common sense and politicians are rivals as far as I can see .

crazy that they aren't moving the front line homes to the large area to the left as you panned across the site!

I'm surprised the owners of the caravans have not moved the one's at greatest risk whilst it's still possible. Given a few months of winter storms and it'll be too late, or are they not worth saving?

My relatives had a static caravan pitched in the same park in the '70-s and '80s that we had the odd weekend away at, over our trips in that year or so I noticed massive erosion, my relatives moved their caravan to an inland park, about 10 years later I was told their old pitch had gone to the sea, I was surprised as it was a 5 minute brisk walk to the sea from the caravan.

I've heard that in Medieval Times there were villages which are now 5 miles out to Sea...( a good hour's walk out?)

Hornsea Burton and Hornsea Beck are the two villages lost to the sea since Roman times..
