- In our latest episode in our podcast (sorry, only in Swedish), we interviewed Daniel Dahlström who is a forestry contractor and a CTL logger. During the making of the podcast we also made a time lapse trying to catch parts of a day for a forest machine operator in Sweden of summer 2020. Daniel usually works with final fellings but this summer there seems to be an endless work of taking care of storm felled trees and to get rid of the bark beetle.

The first log therefor becomes ordinary pulp wood (~Cardboard), the second log has no rot and is big enough for saw timber. The third has no rot but is to small for saw timber therefor it becomes spruce pulp wood (~toilet paper).

What is the wheel for?
Hur vet man vilka längder man ska kapa upp allt i?
Man har en prislista där det står vilka längder som man kan kapa i. I maskinen lägger du in denna lista i datorn. Datorn bestämmer sedan vilka längder som skall tas.
No checking oil levels , before starting machine ?!!
Machines of today have transducers and all vital information are presented in the machine computer. When you spend ~2000 hours per year in a machine you get to know your machine pretty well. Therefor you trust the transducers and perform a couple of manual checks per week.
