OMG!! OMG!! Just WOW!... I,m Sitting Here Wiping My eyes. Amazing. Man You Just brought Out happy tears. You were So Blessed to See That.. Just Fantastic! I Do Not Have The proper words... Cheers Sir.
Thank you Dan, that was awesome. To see it from a fans perspective instead of a documentary is even cooler. I was born February 6th 1964. I guess I was racing the plane coming in from London on February 7th! I'm a lifelong Beatles fan, and the city I live in in New Jersey is actually the hometown of Paul's current wife. A couple of years ago, he was wandering downtown about 5 mi from where I live. Talk about missing an opportunity in my own backyard! But again thank you for that fun trip to Abbey Road Studios
Thanks Dan. I was born in 1957. As a kid, I lived in St John’s Wood for a while. I’d go past the studios often. Occasionally I’d see band members from Beatles, Pink Floyd etc. going in and out. Lords cricket ground is close by too. Another legendary place. How cool is that! 😁
Alan Parsons was the sound engineer on the Beatles album Abby Road also engineered Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. He, of course, went on to put together one great recording career himself.
I've been outside the Abbey Road Studio which was pretty damn cool. Walked over the zebra crossing. I'm glad you got to look inside. You're a lucky guy.
Thanks Dan,This was fantastic.I was born in 1956, so all my memories of the 60s and 70s music and especially The Beatles are great.I miss those times so much.
@@MoviesMusicMonsters No other band compares to The Beatles. John, Paul, George and Ringo were unique and their songs were top notch. If I had to pick my favorite Beatles song it would have to be, Hard days night.
You should do a short video on last night’s episode of Doctor Who entitled “The Devil’s Chord”. It takes place mostly inside EMI Studios during the time when the Beatles recorded their first album.
Dan: First, I am SO appreciative of your humble attitude upon your invitation into Abby Road. Most TH-camrs would say "It's about time I got in here." Thanks for the incredible access!
Ah!!! I'm so jealous! I visited London in 1988 and made it as far as getting my picture taken at the entrance of Abbey Road at the top of those iconic steps (and I still treasure it), but could not make it inside, even though I was in radio at the time. This sort of makes up for it. Love all the photos and stories and you got a couple of songs mastered at Abbey Road! Are you kidding me? Thanks for the tour, Dan! Well done!
Great video! I was just teaching a class in Mils, Austria at Prime Studio. They have an EMI TG12345 MK Q mixing console in one of their studios that was custom built originally for Abbey Road Studios.
I was 17 when Mark Lewisohn released his Complete Beatles Recording Sessions book and got it for Christmas. I spent so many hours poring over every little detail and listening to the songs while reading about how they were made. It's such an incredibly interesting and valuable book
Hey there :-) yeah, it's a great book but even Mark Lewisohn himself feels this outdated. He's including a lot of the newly updated information in his huge Trilogy of books.
One other reason to visit, is not so much to cross the pelican crossing BUT to watch the reaction of drivers as the almost endless number of people cross the road on the only grade 2 listed road crossing in the entire UK. Expect expletives :)
Not a die-hard Beatless fan but I do enjoy their music and the new tricks they did on each album. Paul is my favorite and he really opened up when he started WINGS. Ringo and George also made songs I still like. But there is no denying what they did for music and how a little studio was part of it.
This might just be your best video yet. I'd love to see more studios behind the scenes, such as the Capitol Records studios in LA, the BBC studios in London, and Television City in LA.
Dan. Here is a suggestion for a video What ever happened to Dr. Demento. For those who might not know who this zany person is Dr. Demento born as Barret Eugene Hansen is the only DJ who played novelty records on the radio and introduced Weird Al Yankovick to the world
Brilliant report Dan! I’m a Yank living in the U.K… never been to Abbey Road, but you’ve got me chomping at the bit now! Must make a visit after all these years. Cheers!
My mum's from Liverpool, but maybe 10 years too young have seen them. But I do consider it my city though, my great, great (lots of greats!) grandfather was governor of Liverpool,
Such an awesome and unique adventure. While not especially a Beatles fan, I would have reveled in a tour of what was then EMI simply for the fact that John Barry recorded many of his film scores here, including several of the James Bond scores.
I was there last April for a Mastering session. It was amazing seeing all the Pictures recording machines in the narrow Hallways. Everyone was charming and very nice. Having lunch and eating outside. Wow I still pinch myself!
What an Awesome Abbey Road Experience ~ It was Destiny that You Two encountered Him, but Your Passion for The Beatles and the Music made Geoff Happy to Share that He is fortunate to work at the Shangra La of the Best Music Ever Made 🎶
Hi Dan. Awesome tour. I’m a photographer and had the privilege to spend a week in studio 2 doing documentary photography for Alexander Kariotis and the Rock Opera Orchestra. I was in awe as soon as I walked in the building. So much history there. It was amazing to see all that vintage gear just sitting in the hallways. Standing in Studio 2 had a familiar feeling to it. It looked just it did in all those Beatles documentaries I’ve seen over the years. I really love your channel. So many topics hit a cord with me. Keep up the awesome work! Your efforts are greatly appreciated.
Great upload. I moved away from London in 2015 to Devon. Boy do I miss it. My little part of Devon is gorgeous, but I try to visit London as much as possible.
While I was just a kid growing up in the 60's (born 59) I really remember the Beatles. I can remember the time just before and once they hit the air waves everything changed. I can remember when their newest albums came out and started being played on the local AM radio. I also recall the news when it was announced they were breaking up. Always wished they could have produced one more album together but that was forever ended in 79. While I am not a musician in any way, I always am curious on how they old songs were recorded. Just as you talked about the modern offerings for the classic sound effects, they just aren't the same as what they used back then. Good video, and anymore Beatles content would "be so cool" to watch one day.
I am so happy for you and your wife. I am going to England for the first time this August as well. I booked a home across the street from Macca's. Yes, I plan to walk by Abbey Road every day and just soak in the atmosphere of being "there". Truly a life long dream for this musician! I found your video while searching for Abbey Road Studio tours as I literally just found out that Abbey Road is holding one of their rather rare public tours while I'm there. I was able to purchase two tickets for my daughter and myself and I am beyond words. Your story truly is inspiring and amazing. Jealous? No. Happy for you? Yes!!! Thank you for sharing this wonderful time with those of us who love this studio so very much!
Visiting Abbey Road Studios and sitting inside studio 2 was otherworldly for me - almost an out of body experience. I was lucky enough to be in London at the same time a Beatles lecture series was taking place in November 2021. Right place, right time. Climbing the stairs to the control room ... seeing all the original equipment ... simply amazing, and I agree it's too bad more people can't experience it. Fun fact: I went to high school, and was college roommates for one year with, the CEO of Avid Technologies - maker of Pro Tools. We lost touch years ago, but it wouldn't surprise me if he's been there - we were both huge Beatles fans and drove to L.A. to see Beatlemania while still in HS in '78.
As a life long Beatle fan literally for 60 years, this would be like visiting a shrine. A unique view behind the scenes and info I never knew. Thanks Dan.
I was fortunately invited in a few years ago by two kind employees and given a wonderful but brief tour. Also could not take photographs. Thanks for this.
WOW, this was really cool. Though i never was a Beatles fan, I have appreciated what they did for music history, I have always wondered about Abbey Road Studios. Thanks for sharing!!!
You lucky lad...lmao. From an old guitar players point of view you got to set foot on hallowed ground!!! Thank you sooooo much for taking us on that awesome journey!!!!!
Dan, could you do a video sometime of the shows from Gerry Anderson like Space 1999, UFO, Space Precinct, Thunderbirds, and some of his other works. The man was a sci fi genius. Also, possibly a video about Farscape sometime would be awesome.
Thank you, so much, Dan. This video truly touched me. I may not make it there myself but it felt like I was through your video and I can not Thank you enough. Thank You.
That’s the kind of experience that most of us mere mortals can only dream about! Last time I was in London I had quite an extensive tour of the Abbey Road studios….parking lot 😊
That had to be one of the most AWESOME things to ever experience! I mean “ How cool is That”! I’m talking Arctic Cool! Thanks for sharing that tour with us! It will be the closest I will ever come to being there. Great job Dan!!
I heard that somebody wanted the cover of The Beatles next album to be a picture of the four lads on top of Mount Everest, but The Beatles said screw that and went outside and they took that famous picture of them walking in front of Abby Road studio. How cool is that !!!~
Congratulations!!! What a great video! I have now lived vicariously through you, a dream of mine. Wow, I'm completely blown away. Thank you! Can't wait for the topic of the next video.
Well done Dan. I’m glad you did more of London than the standard tourist normal subjects. Just a heads up hot off the press;coming out for release soon is my friends film about their manager called the golden touch. You heard it here first.
My dad was stationed in Germany in 1962, and in 1966 he was in England and he told me that he saw brochures for a band called Pink Floyd. And they recorded their first album. Down the hall from where they were recording Sergeant Pepper. And I hope you go to the north country and find a blue police call box. And some of the locations where they filmed Doctor Who. And U.F.O. Thunderbirds are Go
"Wish You Were Here" was also recorded at Abbey Road. During the recoding a guy walked with no eyebrows and overweight. The members of Pink Floyd didn't know who he was. Then after a time Richard Wright asked who that was and it was Sid Barrett. One of the original members of the band. They had not see him in years, last time he was skinny and had eyebrows. It hit them all hard on how much their friend had changed, even Roger Waters started to cry.
That was awesome, Dan! Thanks so much... the feeling you described is the same I had when I toured Hitsville in Detroit. Growing up there and loving Motown music as I do, it was an almost religious experience. Maybe that can be "the topic of another video"!
A big thank you to Geoff Pesche. It was so kind of him to invite you and your wife to tour Abbey Road Studio and allowing us to enjoy your story.
Seeing the St Pepper’s recording machine at close quarters like that would be like holding Picasso’s favourite paintbrush.
Thanks Dan for this Magical Mystery tour of Abbey Road.
8:11 Amazing when you look at this 1 room and the building from outside, its like the tardis.
The richness of the sound that came from those machines cannot be duplicated any other way. Analog forever!
OMG!! OMG!! Just WOW!... I,m Sitting Here Wiping My eyes. Amazing. Man You Just brought Out happy tears. You were So Blessed to See That.. Just Fantastic! I Do Not Have The proper words... Cheers Sir.
Yep, the equipment and recording rooms would've knocked me out!!

That's incredibly cool. I would love to see studio 2. Abbey Road is my favorite Beatles record.
Really enjoyed this one. Watched it twice.
Hey thanks :-) the videos I do on music are never as popular, but I love doing them just the same.
This one really hit the nostalgia feels. Thanks for that.
Great stuff Dan, thanks for the mini tour.
That was a pretty incredible experience to get so impromptu. Thanks for sharing all these details.
It was really far out :-)
Good to see you geek out Dan. You and your wife had a blast.
What a magical mystery tour for you and your wife . I'm 74 , so 13 when I first heard The Boys in '63 on L.A. a m station KRLA . Thank you Dan 👍♥️

Geoff Pesche picked the perfect couple to nerd out at Abbey Road studio. Thank you for taking us along!!☺️
From a Liverpool couple . That was fantastic Dan. Thanks bud. Regards Edd and Angie.
You are someone special, you're the guy with one of the best TH-cam channels.
Cool video
Thanks :-)
Thanks, Dan. Another well put together video. I'm looking forward to the next one!
