I know this video has some age on it, but first I came across it. I started steering a wd45 at the age of 4 in 1959 when my uncle would spread manure from cleaning the dairy barn. I can tell you how many hours I spent on the seat of one from cultivating, mowing hay, crimping, raking, disking. We had both a narrow front and wide front. Both were sold at farm auction after my uncle passed away a little over 15 years ago. Man would I love to have that tractor in my barn. Very nice job.
I enjoy hearing stories like this. I grew up around this tractor. It was grandpas chore tractor, and had a trip bucket loader back then. This one was always my favorite. I'm glad it got kept when he retired. He kept this one, and a JD 50 that he used to "farm" his sweet corn patch that he maintained in the old cattle yard.
Great video Jason! 😀 Thank you so much for the shoutout my friend! That truly means a lot! Those stickers look great on your tool boxes! Its incredibly exciting to see the tractor running and driving! 😀 I'm glad that you were inspired to work on the tractor after all those years of it setting. Makes me happy to see how much you enjoy the finished product. You made it better than it was off the line my friend 👍 I cant wait to see whats next 🙂👍❤
The tractor looks great! There's nothing quite like the sound of a wd45! You should make some videos of the tractor working when you use it. Thanks for taking us along for the restoration.
Congratulations Jason on a job well done. Looks even better than when it rolled off the assembly line. Those decals really stand out with that bright orange paint, and thanks for the kind words, as you know it’s always much appreciated. I really enjoyed this restoration project Jason, thanks for bringing us all along to watch it.😀👍
I started watching your rebuild yesterday with you pushing it into the shop and finished them today, I think I found them all. So much more time was put into the rebuild than you could show. I have an old WD 45 that I got when my dad passed. It worked a lot of ground in it's time. He would start early in the morning and I would run it into the night. It still runs but is feeling its age. I often think of a rebuild but with limited knowledge, and tools and patience I will never get it done. But it sure is nice to see one come to life. You did a great job and I enjoyed it emmensely. Thank you.
I really enjoyed watching you restore the WD45 as soon as you pulled it in your garage I remembered my neighbors tractor. I will add your channel to my favorites look forward to watching more videos.
Thanks for sharing the restoration process I have a project with a WD45 I will not go as far as you, just make it functional thank you very much a hug from Mexico 🇲🇽
Thats a good lookin tractor, it was nice to follow along and see all the work you put into it and finally see the end result and to hear how good it sounds. Great job, I'll be waiting to see what you come up with next. Keep smiling.
Awesome build the tractor looks great, hope you continue on the "c" , not sure where that falls with the timeline but, love these old tractors! keep up the good work!
I've been looking forward to this video every day since the last one you published. Ol Allis turned out beautiful and I would drive that beauty to church. Thank you for all the insight as I'll definitely go back to these videos as I continue to work on my grandpa's WD45 wide front.
The tractor turned out awesome! Cold weather put a pause on my WD for now, but looking even more forward to it as seeing how well yours turned out. Great job!
Also thank you for posting these video's. They have been a really big inspiration to me to learn how to fix stuff, if it weren't for these video's, I don't think I would have been able to fix my WD. So thank you. And keep up the great work!
So awesome that this is complete Jason! Sorry its taking so long to watch and comment man. I keep getting distracted with the state of the voting...well before i go off in a tizzy...anyway congratulations on the project. it came out amazing! thank god it was just a gas issue on the first ride, im betting your heart dropped for a second when it happened lol. Thank you very much for the shout out too brother.
Wow well done! It looks beautiful. My grandpa had an old Allis at his cabin he would drive around and play with. I can’t remember if it was a WD or a WD-45 but that old tractor made me fall in love with Allis-Chalmers tractors. I don’t have one but it’s a goal of mine to get one someday hopefully soon. Awesome work!
Great job on your WD! I am just starting working on my old Allis Chalmers model B. I have had it for 30 some odd years, used to use it a lot but like me is retired now and I am going to restore it. Learned a lot from watching you with your tractor. Thank you.
That’s amazing jason, I watched the whole build and you have to be very proud because it’s awesome, you did a hell of a job and I know there’s a lot of people that’s giving you that big pat on the back that is deserved, 👊🏼🤘🤙🏻✌️👍🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Wish I would have documented my restoration. On the down hill slide of complete tear down and rebuild of a 52 WD, year 3. I literally seen two of your episodes 1 and 32. I'll have to watch some others.
Looks awesome and sounds perfect! It really brings back memories. What were your total number of hours working on it? What was the breakdown on cost? What components did you NOT rebuild in house?
Thanks, I'm glad you like it. I have no idea on the cost or time spent. Don't really want to know, as its way more than the tractor is worth! I had a machine shop redo the valves and seats, I did the rest my self. The only things not rebuilt are the transmission, differential, and final drives. They were in good shape, so just put fresh oil in.
Beautiful tractor for sure!!! Would you sell this tractor? My dad and mom had one of these on a 40 herd farm in Vermont in the '50's and '60's!!! what memories!!
Nice job on that Allis. What primer and paint did you use? Lot of guys use the wrong persian orange. Good to see the correct color. The best way to put decals on is mix up soapy water in a squirt bottle and wet the clean surface. Lay the decal on then you can slide it around and get it perfect. Use a credit card and squeegee out the air bubbles and soapy water. I didn’t t think they would stick either but they do. This method is a lot more forgiving if you get a wrinkle or bubble, esp. on big decals. I have rebuilt my Dad’s WD-45 down to every nut and bolt. Paint is all that’s left and I hate painting. You don’t know how much fun you missed getting those brake shoe pins out. That was the worst part of the whole job.
I used an epoxy primer and single stage enamel from ag specialties. The decal set said not to use soapy water with them. I've read over and over how hard those brake pins are to remove. The tractor will never see any real hard work again, so hopefully I will never have to remove them!
Nice tool. Almost too purty to use. On the plug wires. Silicon electrical lube. Makes the ends slide right on and protects the connection from oxidation and water. I use the stuff on all electrical connections. Electrician would know that I thought.
@@bryanbjerklie4494 I'm currently looking for a small disk. I've only found one that fits my needs, but its a little farther than I'm willing to travel to go get it.
@@bryanbjerklie4494 I did find a snap coupler disk, but the guy wants $775 for it and its a long way away. I have a 3 bottom snap coupler plow, but I've only used it twice in the 20 plus years I've had it. Not sure I could even pull it now that I don't have ballast in the tires anymore.
I think after this episode. I'm gonna have to watch some cartoons. Trying to keep my mind off of getting a allis chalmers 🤣. I don't think I need anymore projects

If I knew you lived close to north Alabama, I’d pay you to restore my granddad’s WD-45 for me. Great job on the tractor!!
I wish I could. I love those tractors!
