You were 100%on point when you said about the painting, I was just going to put FI on my bullnose, now I have a powder coated frame and all suspension parts a 408 stroker , Monster trans, 4:11 Detroit locker w/31 spline axels. 🤦🏻it never ends, can’t wait to see the rest of the build . Keep up the great work 🇺🇸
I was barely on the edge of not being able to lift it off lol... but I highly recommend using a silicone rubber piece where the corners touch the cowling to protect the paint.
4:29 nice form. You need an engine leveler. Good ones aren't real cheap, but completely worth it if you're pulling motors. Actually, what's your shipping address? I'm not big on patreon, but wouldn't hesitate to send you a useful tool.
I have a standard sniper and I can't speak highly enough about it. I absolutely love mine. I'm not traditionally a Ford guy, but that truck is going to be a runner!
I had a '93 F150 with a 300 I6 and M5R2 manual trans. Same body style but 2 wheel drive. I sold that truck nearly 5 years ago with just shy of 750,000 miles on it. I miss that truck
@@droppedf100 Ya would have 2.5" duel exhaust or 3". Plus look nice straight the back 15 degree cut off tips. I have two of them. Maybe I'll send them. Future project build.
LT, I live in Houston and spend a LOT of time in my garage. This year I spent the money and had the walls spray foam insulated and had AC installed. It was expensive, but worth every penny!
Same engine in my 95 f150 4x4..351w. I rebuilt it with a bump in compression to 10.1 and a small .477 lift cam. I ended up haven't to swap from speed density to mass air flow. That small cam made I big difference.
Awesome LT! I've always wanted a shortbed OBS Ford to make a mean muscle truck out of! But an offroader would be just as fun. Someday... Someday... haha.. Thanks for the videos, I watch every single one
Hey LT, Throw some blow-in insulation between the stud bays on that garage wall. It should mitigate temps pretty well. Then you could get a small mini-split heat pump just for the garage. You’ll have air conditioning or heat. Just make sure the unit can operate during the winter temps of your climate. Hope you are well, love the channel.
Great video man! I'm working with 5.0 Flareside for now. Doing what I can to build power with headers, injectors, smog delete but eventually want a crate coyote. The computer is what I need to learn about. I want to keep functionality of the cruise and all my options and make more power if I can.
Mr. Cool or one of the other mini split heat pump vendors should set you up and then some of us viewers may thank them with some purchases! Good to see you didn’t do the engine hoist squat-press when that OSHA inspector was watching you from the cab!
Hi LT good project going here. Good choice on the 408. I work at Blueprint Engines at one of the dyno cells. They are good power makers. Been watching the powerblock on TV as long or longer then you. Lol. Since Joe and Chuck on Horsepower TV on the TNN network. Lol. Gonna keep watching this build.
When i pulled the 351 out of an F250 i had i started disconnecting all the wires to the engine then saw the same connector you pointed out... it was my first time pulling an engine out, i did all the prep work the night before then rented an engine picker and had it out in just 2 hours with the help of my brother and made it back to the rental place before they closed at noon (weekend)... i got rid of that truck cause i didnt need it anymore and we wanted the 351 for my dads 94 mustang... now i have a 94 short bed single cab that im building the inline 300 for... got the hole front end pulled off and i will end up rewiring the whole truck to make it work the way that i want it to...
Hey LT, invest into one of those portable 3,100 CFM/950 sq ft. coolers. I have two in my shop here in the southwest as well and it makes all the difference. Just crack open that garage door for some air flow and you're set. I maintain 85F with a nice airflow in the shop. Couple $$$ investment, SOOO worth it though.
You should tell the owner to leave the twin traction beams. Companies like solo motorsports make long travel kits for old 4wd fords. It would keep inline with a raptor style baja build
For future reference, Stinger perfomance has a plug and play computer for the ford eec4 that these use. It uses mega squirt efi and will control the factory overdrive transmission. Boost compatibility and fairly easy to use .
Those E4OD torque converters get hot, and the pilot snout you're referring to swells, and gets stuck in the crank. They can certainly be a bear to bust loose. Put a little anti seize on it, when you go back together. Whoever has to go back into it in the future, will thank you greatly.
Add some insulation and a mini-split to that garage! There are some DIY packages out there for not much money. Some blown in fiberglass might keep the inside of the west wall moderated a bit…
Sweet build, you'll probably need to swap timing covers. They are different for standard rotation water pumps and reverse rotation like on that stock engine
I'm thinking that since you work alone you really need a small gantry crane that fits in your garage but helps with things like bed and hood removal and even the occasional engine.
I absolutely need I mean need 1000-HP in my work van! Hey do a shade structure of some type next to garage. I did it over my driveway and it changed the way we use our home. No insulation in the walls either. Just by keeping the sun off the wall and concrete
You really need to paint the frame and stuff even if it’s just a rust oleum spay paint!! What better time then now to paint what you can! If I were the owner I would care what it looked like when spending that kind of money and that truck is slick already!
I have a 1997 F250HD XL 351w ZF-5 S47 RCLB 2wd 3.55s...I desperately want to build it into something interesting...something nobody is really doing. I would love to go long travel twin I beam "Prerunner" baja, baby trophy truck style. Build a 393/408/418/427ci stroker, not sure if I want to go carburetor or something like Holley EFI. I live in an area with no emissions thankfully. Been checking out companies like Giant Motorsports suspension systems. Would like to do as much fabrication myself as possible since I am not very wealthy and have plenty of time as a retired Army vet. Thus build is giving me lots of inspiration...thanks 😊
This is super interesting because I’m in the process of this as well only with a carb’ed 302 with small cam and GT40 heads. Currently trying to figure out how to get the Quick 2 trans controller to work correctly with the E40D
Is it a lot cooler? My 95 has r134a and it’s all stock components but has been recharged and it works good. Had it on yesterday and it cooled me off rather quickly
@@droppedf100 lol it's cold for sure. Comment was a little tongue-in-cheek. I don't appreciate compressor failure and having to source more R12 when R134a is less than 5 bucks a can at Walmart. Very happy to see the f150 build. This year is mainly what I work on but all lowered 2wd trucks. Now why did you do a small single exhaust for a near 500hp motor? My motor makes about the same in my f150 and I run 1 3/4 longtubes and dual 2.5” exhaust with an x pipe and I feel I should be running dual 3” honestly

Get one of those portable A/C units with the exhaust hose. And drape a sun shade of some sort on the outside of that wall.
Time for a Mr cool mini split. Plug it into the welder 220 circuit or wire an extra circuit
A lot of hard sweaty work. Well done. A great Father’s Day treat to see it. Still can’t believe you do all this stuff One handed.

Make sure that's the correct timing cover for the reverse rotation water pump. Usually the engine dowel pins is what causes the problem.
