Had a blast watching your + chats reaction to my death. 100% correct about the potion - my brain went into full caveman mode and I've never played a mage before. Sheep and hearth would definitely have saved me, and my brain was on “reset spot” instead since the ledge is a reset. I also could have re-poly’d and fought. My mana was going up dramatically.
Definitely a preventable death from many angles. I can only claim being a dumbo but I had a blast. My wife was whispering in my ear that I was going to die the entire time.
Oh well. Hindsight is 20/20. I’m doing an arcane only mage now who is already higher level.

That ZG wipe was 100% the owl pet that killed everyone. The reason the tank puts the boss in a corner is because the lightning won't jump if there isn't anymore in range of the tank (who it targets)
It looked to me like it may have hit two pets or the owl pet and then another person who was standing too close. crazy
@@extr3mev0id19 Yeah, there were a few melee running in after the adds died and they were spaced enough to set the chain up.
No way that wasn't intentional sabotage, that pet went in after the holy fire cast, that hunter knew what he was doing

It almost makes me cry with joy seeing random people help one another. I would NEVER see this happen on softcore. But throw the one-life rule into the mix and it's so much more common. I got caught in a cave respawn the other day and would have certainly died, but this random nearby mage: novas all my mobs, slows others as we run out, and tries to trade me a pot on the fly. I LOVE HARDCORE 😭

@@EdwardLewisIV It's an admission by a bunch of idiots that they're idiots. Whether it's climbing a rock or playing permadeath wow. You can use this reasoning to justify literally any difficult activity. Therefore it's still on you to choose a difficult activity of value, not totally waste your time by climbing a rock or playing wow. Difficulty isnt enough justification when there are meaningful difficult activities to do instead.

i've NEVER seen this boss do this before and i've done RFK hundreds of times throughout the past 20 years!! What the actual... **(checks wowpedia)**
So apparently this boss has an ability called "Left For Dead" which "inflicts 200 damage to an enemy and forces it to feign death for up to 5 min" (or when you right click the buff/debuff to cancel it).. ayo ayo ayo so hol up.... either the ability was reflected (somehow) or the tooltip of the ability is explained poorly (or downright wrongly).
so, in case this ability was NOT somehow reflected back onto the boss, what actually happened (and thus how the ability ACTUALLY works) is that the boss inflicts 200 damage to an enemy and then _he himself_ feigns death for up to 5 minutes.
bruh 20 years and this hidden boss mechanic has eluded me all those years... i need to go lye down.
Mage dude at 6:03 should have done frost nova and then evocate. Probably could have survived that one.

The SFK deaths are always so funny, you don't have to go through the front door, you can just jump over the wall and zone out
I get that you think playing hardcore is a waste of time, and that you "sign up to have your time wasted", but I'll have to say that it's the best time I've had in WoW ever since vanilla. Because I only have one life? No, but because of the impact this change has on the entire game world and the community. 1. All zones are populated, which makes restarting not such a lonely experience. 2. There are no bots or gold-farmers (from what I've seen), probably because the business doesn't work if they die and they can't buy a boost. This also makes the economy much more balanced, as you can trade reasonably at all levels. 3. You know everyone who is at level 25+ is not a complete moron, as they would probably have died. 4. Cooperation and teamwork is highly encouraged, even for simple quests, so people are very social and helpful because nobody wants to die.
Will it suck when I inevitably die? Probably. But time you enjoy wasting is not wasted. This is no different from grinding to 60, completing everything, getting tired of the game and *then* quitting.

however, i did spot my first bot last night... was a lvl 55 female orc hunter named Stenmeier, killing bears and wolves in felwood. tried to grief it to death, but alas i am not a hunter or a rogue so i can't aggro dump on him.
i'm sure some hero will find him and do it though.

my pala heal died because of one of these mages in the dungeon after he pulled several packs and the worst part of all is that I saved his life just before and he survived

I've been playing hardcore and I'm surprised how little I see swiftness potions in hotbars/guides. They are on the same cooldown as health pots but they are far more effective for getting away. Obviously we also have target dummies at 17 but you use a swiftness potion at level 1. I can only speak for a warrior perspective but the health pots recover like a third of your health, at best.
well you can still be dazed through swiftness pot, so healthpot is safer depending on the situation.
the only scenario where swiftness is better is when you got too many mobs to handle and HAVE to make a run for it. those situations are obviously rarer than situations where you've just bitten off a bit more than you can chew (like 2-3 mobs at a time) and need a heal.
@@ZugzugZugzugson Doesn't the dazed movement get cancelled out by the swiftness though (ie, you run at normal speed)?
You dont see them because these are the clips of terrible players
@@ZugzugZugzugsonstrafe jump away and face the enemy when they start their attack animation, and you won't get dazed. With the swiftness potion, even if you're bad at that mechanic, you should be able to make distance, assuming you don't get CCed.
@@Pizzastealingninja im aware you can avoid daze by facing the mobs and strafing, but from what i can tell panic usually sets in when people need to run.
you are right that a swiftness pot is the better option when the individual is calm and collected and doing things right, however that is clearly far from the norm.

Immediate added note to my hardcore note sheet: don't stand next to a hole in the ground or cliff, wtf didn't I write that down the last 3 times i saw it. And the other reason that I won't play healer: you have to predict where tf people are going to scoot off to. I'm feeling chatty today: warrior at 5:40, once you deliberately take aggro, dealing with aggro is your problem, you could always just help out another person without taking aggro (if you know how to do that).
I really like this videos even if i not even really interested in wow. But these clips shows so many situations about griefers getting karma, it's actually satisfying to watch and listening Asmon explanation about.
Warriors, charge or intercept into mobs on the ground to save yourself from fall dmg!
I love the warrior trying to help the other player (who was at full hp and well on his way to letting the enemies reset) proceed to not do anything to preserve his own life before dying then calling the other person a griefer.😆

Haven't played wow since classic vanilla, and I know it's a terrible idea, but there is a not so small part of me that wants to play classic hardcore.
in my experience playing hardcore so far, the situations you see in these clips are not the norm. these are the big oof moments, worst mistakes and avoidable blunders.
my shaman is lvl 52 now, and i've had a total of 3 close calls, which i escaped from due to playing with smart people who know how to play the game.
twice my life has been saved by rogues who CC'd (blind/gouge) a mob that was about to get a killing blow on me and once i escaped death thanks to my own wits.
these close calls are very rare, and usually only happen because i deliberately do something risky.
curiously, both the times i was saved by a rogue's CC was in the ogre cave in STV. that place just hates my guts for some reason.
the one time i saved myself was when i was killing Steelsnap (hyena in thousand needles).
friend warned me that steelsnap is tougher than he looks, and i figured i could take him anyway (in other words i got cocky but i was prepared and had a plan of escape).
it took an earthbind totem (aoe slow), a healing potion and a slumber sand (20 second sleep item from low level quest) to escape with my life intact...
granted the game's RNG fucked me a bit as well, since Steelsnap conveniently parried, dodged and missed 3 of my killing blows before going down, causing my planned escape to be delayed just long enough for my health to go critical and for a straggling 'bonus' mob to aggro on me as i was running away.
after killing steelsnap i looted the q item, cast a stoneclaw totem to get rid of the aggro from the 2 "guard" hyenas that follow him, followed by an earthbind totem and ran off - this is where i should have been home free, but the "bonus mob" - a mountain lion - spotted me and gave chase, which forced me to slumber sand it as it resisted the slow-tick from the aforementioned earthbind totem. the potion was used to prolong my survival as i was missing the killing blow on the q mob 3 times in a row.

The chain lighting deaths are especially painful because the people responsible for letting it chain were hit early, which means they actually lived...
When i was playing WOW for 2 or 3 months (classic and early BC) i had a strong rule for myself - DO NOT HELP ANYONE IF YOU NOT SURE YOU CAN SOLO ALL THESE MOBS

it has long been my policy in wow, even outside of hardcore, that if someone is in combat with a group of mobs, and i am not confident i could win the fight against the entire group by myself, i am not helping because to do so only invites death.
When you die you can just transfer off the server for free iirc so it's not like you're throwing days of progress away when you die, you just enter the "skill issue" realm.

So I ask the guild what do 60s die from and I was told Raids. I said "They die with honor" then someone else replied "No, they died screaming in terror. " LMAO!!!

2:30 The reason is that if your feign death succeeds, you will immediately lose aggro. And if it fails, you have to keep moving to survive. The only case where moving interferes with feign death is a) if you continue moving while casting feign death (it sort of cancels out), b) if you are located close to the mob's reset spot, and reaggro him immediately. But feigning death, stopping for half a second and then moving again maximizes your chance of survival in a lot of situations, as far as I can tell.
I went into a cave for a quest killed the first target got attacked by 3 invisible forsaken hearthed out while my pet kept aggro I could have taken them, not going back because not worth it at lvl 30

Asmon not knowing it was the hunter pet owl that wiped out the Korean raid, is lazy. If he is gonna explain what happened, he should notice that "PETS" can chain that beam. Apart from that, always a good watch.
Bocaudillo prob did not have line of sight because of the bridge
that Hunter pet did the trick, wiped half the raid, and it had to be on purpose as he only sent the pet after the holy fire, if it wasn't on purpose its impressive how stupid everyone involved is, hope they enjoy the hundred+ hour climb to this spot again.
