    Thanks very much for your review. I just watched your review of the Senderos and am wondering which tires would be better suited for the rockier, loose gravel, often chunky muddy dirt roads we have here in the Colombian coffee axis. I'll occasionally like to pound out some miles on the tarmac and so I was looking for something a little faster than the Teravail Sparwood 2.1's I've been running for the last year or so. Those have honestly been pretty great on what I would deem some pretty challenging terrain here but I was looking for a bit of an upgrade. Thanks very much again and cheers from Colombian coffee country!

    Does it make noise when on pavement? I had Resolute (much more knobby) and I couldn't stand the constant buzz coming from tires.

      Maciej Pilichowski some slight noise just depends on pressure, higher pressure I don’t notice it

    Sooooo Byway rear and a Venture front? Seems like that may be a solid combo for most gravel riding!

    I need a new tire(as one of my tires got a road cut) & I'm looking at the 700x50 version. Do you think this makes a better front or rear tire?

    • @LockedinCycling
      @LockedinCycling  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mellissa Nash it depends what you have up front most run a gripper front tire and faster rear.

      @@LockedinCycling The good tire is a Kenda Pro XC tire in 50mm.

    Any thoughts on and/or experience with the Tervail Cannonball vs the WTB Venture?

    • @LockedinCycling
      @LockedinCycling  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tim Lagas I haven’t ridden them or know anyone who has ridden the cannonballs. After this batch of reviews for WTB I might try to hit them up for some review units. They do look nice.

    have you tried NONO´s ? Heard they are fast, dispite the knobs, would like to know how they compares to these, speed wise. thx.

    • @LockedinCycling
      @LockedinCycling  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hauntyoo yea I cyclocross on those nanos , I’ve never done much street mileage on them. I’d say they feel a tad faster , but it really depends on the psi.

    Yeah i found the limit of the horizons, carrying to much speed and turning onto sandy hardpack. i was preaty wasted feeling a little close to bonking, so wasn't on top of shit.( more like eating it.)

    How do these compare to the Gravel Kings?

    • @LockedinCycling
      @LockedinCycling  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Mellissa Nash I haven’t ridden those, but by design I thing these will grip better in looser corners since theses have bigger shoulder knobs.

    So maybe the Sendero on front and Venture on the back ?

      @stumpe3942 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Camille Clrc I run that setup. Very good for trails and gravel. Still rolls decently on pavement.

    How are these as winter tires. I wanna ride them in the snow

    • @LockedinCycling
      @LockedinCycling  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They weren’t bad in the snow for me but if it’s heavy snow a studded tire is usually recommended

      Thanks.Btw. Amazon sells two versions of these in Canada. One is a light/fast rolling and one is regular. Not sure whats the difference

    How do these measure up? I've seen people claim they're actually 44mm 'coz that's what's written on the side wall, but no one seems to have actually measured them with calipers.

    • @LockedinCycling
      @LockedinCycling  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      SimoWill75 that is down to rim width but on my 650s they were a true 47

    • @SimoWill75
      @SimoWill75 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LockedinCycling Thanks! What's your rims internal width? WTB's website says 44 and I was hoping that was just a typo, but have seen a few forum posts that the actual tyre has 44 on it too (molded into the rubber, not printed) I'm a heavy guy and need all the width I can fit into my frame for the sandy stuff around here :D

      SimoWill75 it was on a giant wheel set I have sold, I think it was around 27

      @@LockedinCycling Cheers mate. Looks like the Venture in the back and Sendero on the front will be my best option when I do the Munda Biddi in April. 1060km of very mixed terrain, from bitumen to soft sand and 'Pea' gravel (like riding on ball bearings! mundabiddiramble.files.wordpress.com/2015/10/img_1206.jpg ) Cheers again.

    How about this venture compare with maxxis ravager? Anyone use them?

    • @LockedinCycling
      @LockedinCycling  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      heru Budhi I’ve only ridden the Maxxis ramblers which roll a little faster but this has wayyyy more grip

    • @alecfotsch3533
      @alecfotsch3533 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've also found the rambler to be very fast on paved surfaces and unpaved. I have them mounted in the 700x40 which I like but I want a wider tire with similar or slightly more grip off pavement.
