You are so relatable, just discovered you and I'm spending my Sunday afternoon catching up. Perimenopause currently has me in a chokehold. I have a love/hate relationship with myself - some days I love myself, others I wish I didn't have to get out of bed. My worst perimenopause symptom is weight gain, like you, I train regularly and eat well but I just keep gaining weight. I believe my lack of motivation stems from this weight gain and if I could just get back to my normal weight, it would be the catalyst for my life to change for the better, just like your pixie cut was for you. Thank you for your minimalist videos, as we learn as we get older - less is most definitely more. 🙏🏾
Perimenopause is the friend that overstays their welcome. My advice would be to start with revising your nutrition. The proven fact is that health (weight loss, muscle gain, lean muscle, etc.) all start with our nutrition. I would encourage you to increase your healthy protein (baked, broiled preferred), reduce your sugar intake this includes flavored creamers or fancy coffees, get 7-8 hours of sleep, 30 minute walks 3-4 days a week to start, drink half of your body weight in ounces of water daily and increase your fiber (more fruits & vegetables in their natural state, nothing canned, jarred or processed). This may sound overwhelming but it is completely doable. Start with incorporating one of the habits every day for a week. The following week continue the habit you started and add one more which brings you to 2 habits during week 2. Slowly add 1 habit and compound them. Creating the routine and shifting our mindset is far harder than actually just drinking the water itself. I truly hope this helps. You have inspired me to do a video on this topic. 🥰 Thank you for watching and for your support. Happy New Year! 🦋
Thanks so much for this helpful response. I'll definitely take your advice on board. I've been blindly making adjustments to my diet trying to find a solution that can finally work for me. I'm glad to have provided some inspiration and greatly look forward to seeing the video, thank you! 🙏🏾😊 @LifewithLissette
You're so welcome. You got this! Google is your friend. Use it as a resource to look up recipes, meal plans, nutrition information on hidden sugars, ideas of healthy proteins, etc. Wishing you all the best. ♥
Thank you for listening and being here! It will help my channel grow and reach so many more women. While this video isn’t perfect, I am so proud of myself for being vulnerable and posting it. I am still learning and growing. Your support means everything to me!! Don’t forget to like, comment and subscribe!! 🦋🦋🦋
Hi Lissette. Nice to meet you here! I was so lucky to have one of your videos pop up on my screen. I’m now binge watching. 😅 I’m also a proud Gen X at 58 y/o, and am really enjoying these years. I appreciate your minimalism, and might I say I hope you stay with the simplified set-up without the fancy equipment. You fooled me because you, and your lighting, are looking great. So, thanks for your voice. Your voice is why I’m here and why I’ll be back. Your smarts are awesome, and resonate very much with me. Cheers to you! ❤
Thank you for binge watching and for such a sweet comment! That truly makes my heart smile. No fancy equipment...just my phone, cheap mic & cheap tripod. It works! I am so happy you will be back. Much love! I appreciate your support. 🦋
Hi Lissett, nice to meet you ❤ My name's Sherrie. It was truly a blessing for your viseo to show up in my timeline. Gosh, so much of what you are speaking resonates with me. I am 45 and has been on disability since 2018 (severe back issues). Iblost my daughter 13 years ago when she was only 14.😢❤. I am a full time grandmother of my step daughters 15 month old daughter. I have been feeling so overwhelmed and really feeling like I need to find purpose in my life. Anyways, thank you for starting your channel and sharing your story with us❤ Good luck with this journey ❤🎉❤
Hola! I am so happy we found each other. We are struggling and are in this together. Doing things that bring us joy and make us happy is the ultimate goal. I find that acknowledging it is the first step in creating that change. Putting in small incremental steps to get us to the place where we start to seeing and feeling the change is a good way to start. Take care and stay strong. Thank you for sharing a little bit about you. I appreciate your support. 🦋
Hi, I'm Laura, a 40 year old Cuban/Jamaican with long hair. I've had a faux hawk a bob and everything in between. Your videos are so insightful and reaonate with me, even with my long hair. You inspire me to keep sharing my journey on my page and not be concerned about the negative. You and Dough Dash have inspired me to, as a smaller TH-camr, keep posting and sharing and stay out of my comfort zone. Keep going, and congratulations on being monetized. I saw a few of your latest videos, but I wanted to come back to your older ones to see where you started! 🫶🏿
You are amazing! Thank you for taking the time to watch my videos and comment on so many of them. Wow!!! It is people like you and so many others that keep me motivated to show up! I can't wait for you to start sharing videos again and growing. Now is your time! Go for it sis!!!
These are words I sooooo needed to hear today, thank you Lissette for your very thoughtful provoking words so eloquently put. Look forward to following your future posts, many thanks xxx
Scary is not applying for it and living with regret. You are worthy of all of it so go for it. You got this! Thank you for watching and your support. 🦋
@LifewithLissette you don't know how much I appreciate that. When my grandma passed years ago I just assumed no one is praying for me anymore. So anytime someone let's me know they're praying for me, I appreciate it so so much.
