I do get sick of the Hojlund Chatter about holding the ball up better. Do you know who we don't talk about holding the ball up better? Any strikers from arsenal, city, Liverpool or Chelsea etc. Because their forwards get proper balls inside channels or to feet around the box. They dont have to suffer long balls in the air from the back players to the strikers and *hope* that he can hold it up, usually with around 2-3 defenders around him. Hojlund is a superb channel runner and has a good first touch in the box. How often do we actually play to these clear strengths?

Our biggest loss was not having mainoo avaliable. Needed his calmness in midfield and fernandes' creativity up front. Not having Bruno as a number 10 nulified our attack.

I thought Amad looked good, tbh; his biggest weakness is his physicality, and considering Arsenal is probably the biggest team in terms of size in the league, he did better than I thought he would. Zirkzee didn't see enough of the ball. I thought Garnacho looked dangerous when he was running at them, but Arsenal are just too good defensively. Rashford, for me, looks to lack confidence; he seems to start most games well, but the minute things don't come off for him or the team, he drops off. I think Mainoo in the middle and Bruno further up would have made us much more dangerous. Mount was disappointing, but I am not going to judge him that much, as it was one of the better teams in the league.

They force him to go right and I remember he only manage one good dribble on that direction but lost control inside the box. He lost his feistiness in this game too. Garnacho on the other hand is suspect on both his decision making and control. Yes, his athletic enough to get a lot of opportunities to run but unfortunately without the end result. We showed some resilience and commitment in the defending that was a welcome change. We were clearly the underdog and the manger acknowledged that with the game plan. Besides Mazraoui & Ugarte, i don't think the rest played good enough. Our attackers are so poor at progressing the ball. Backpass = pressure on defence.

I do get sick of the Hojlund Chatter about holding the ball up better. Do you know who we don't talk about holding the ball up better? Any strikers from arsenal, city, Liverpool or Chelsea etc. Because their forwards get proper balls inside channels or to feet around the box.
They dont have to suffer long balls in the air from the back players to the strikers and *hope* that he can hold it up, usually with around 2-3 defenders around him.
Hojlund is a superb channel runner and has a good first touch in the box. How often do we actually play to these clear strengths?

The result is a bit disappointing. However, it's only Amorim's 4th game as United coach. He still needs some time for the players to acclimate to the new style of play.

Our biggest loss was not having mainoo avaliable. Needed his calmness in midfield and fernandes' creativity up front. Not having Bruno as a number 10 nulified our attack.

I thought Amad looked good, tbh; his biggest weakness is his physicality, and considering Arsenal is probably the biggest team in terms of size in the league, he did better than I thought he would. Zirkzee didn't see enough of the ball. I thought Garnacho looked dangerous when he was running at them, but Arsenal are just too good defensively. Rashford, for me, looks to lack confidence; he seems to start most games well, but the minute things don't come off for him or the team, he drops off. I think Mainoo in the middle and Bruno further up would have made us much more dangerous. Mount was disappointing, but I am not going to judge him that much, as it was one of the better teams in the league.
@keyjones1678 I understand your observations. On the other hand, I observed that Amad is suspect when his left path is well defended like what Arsenal did last night. They force him to go right and I remember he only manage one good dribble on that direction but lost control inside the box. He lost his feistiness in this game too. Garnacho on the other hand is suspect on both his decision making and control. Yes, his athletic enough to get a lot of opportunities to run but unfortunately without the end result. As for Mount, he hardly got passed in my opinion. The plays are constantly on the left side. Overall, I still feel positive after this game. But I'm not buying the hype on our players yet.. maybe except Yoro (who literally plays the same quality as he has in Lille).

Onana had to make a couple of good saves, Raya just one. No threat from us apart from the De Ligt header. Arsenal may have won from corners but overall they got what they deserved

We showed some resilience and commitment in the defending that was a welcome change. We were clearly the underdog and the manger acknowledged that with the game plan. There was always the chance we could nick it but we are miles off in terms of…everything. I like the new manager but there’s no silver bullet. He needs to start again, with probably only a handful of this quad remaining. Imho.

Did anyone see Arsenal has certain way to take corners?..every players were behind block to avoid one to one man mark and used to charge around the post immediately when the free kicks were taken..Free kicks changed today's game..Arsenal had more chance up front but United dealt it easily except at 2 set pieces..otherwise United had played well..United handled the game well, played good passes in the middle of park though they couldn't much chances up front.
As much as we complain about arsenal only having corners to offer we had absolutely nothing to offer I watched their goalkeeper make one save and that was it we have such a great attack but they offer nothing.

None of these are thinking players when they have to score, compared with other thinking strikers, playets. We changed the coach, now immediately, only a huge player makeover is going to make a difference, otherwise we will loose against all the big teams.

I’m not actually disappointed because we looked decent. We couldn’t stop their set pieces but not to worry we will get better. I’m just happy that our players actually looked comfortable on the ball unlike they did under ETH. Arsenal deserved the win tho because they were more ambitious later in the game but their showboating was pathetic. They were acting like they’d won the league 😂. This game showed why Arsenal will not win the league. I was watching Liverpool against Newcastle too & although they drew, Liverpool looked so much better in an away game than Arsenal at did home.

Options were a little thin; Mainoo suspended, Case doesn't have the legs for that kind of match, neither does Eriksen, and we don't have enough fit defenders to consider playing Maz there. Even in retrospect, I don't think Bruno-Ugarte in center mid was a bad idea.

Finally for the first time in a very long while manchester united were able to level with arsenal in possession. The issue is that bite and composure. Our defense is a lot better our midfield needs work and our attackers need to do better. Rashford and zirkzee should leave this club in the summer if we want to be a serious club goig forward
