FULL REACTION ON PATREON: www.patreon.com/dukeofswindon My microphone decided to peak despite not changing my set-up so apologies on behalf of your eardrums.
A little fun fact learned from a promo interview: when the boys were sitting on the kitchen counter, they were saying the dirtiest things they could think of to get each other laughing. Kit made a joke involving a dildo and since they actually wanted to use the laughter, he had to go and do ADR for it (“that’s the deal though”). Apparently it was the most authentic laugh they’d ever had together on set
I can see his mom is trying if anything she’s trying to hard and from seeing her parents I can see why she’s the way she is therapy is needed for everyone in this family
Love that you're posting fast. Love looking forward to your reactions. Such a fun episode and good on you to spotting Charlie's mom's issues and where they stem from. Now the steamy stuff can begin!!!
I find that when viewed in the light of Jane's mum being critical and controlling toward her, then Jane being critical and controlling of Charlie, Charlie's being criticised and controlled by Ben makes much more sense.
The Liam and Heartstopper 3 train continues and we are all so very lucky for that! When Charlie very understandably ditches the Christmas party st his house I get just a tiny bit bent out of shape that he just doesn't bring Tori along with him right then and there. I'm relieved she eventually shows up at the Nelson's anyhow, but I found myself saying to the screen "bring Tori with you, man." For whatever reason this is the episode where I miss the absence of Olivia Coleman the most. It's the one where my brain kept tripping over her not ever being in frame (though, again, I remain thankful that we get to have the unearthly splendid gorgeous Hayley Atwell again though, of course). As always, thank you for all your thoughts (I always watch to the end btw). I appreciate what you do here. Liked and shared.
They couldn’t fit everything into 30 minute episodes but I missed Oliver throughout; his relationship with Nick (in the graphic novels) was precious and added a lovely dimension to the Nick-Charlie-Tori-Oliver nexus. And his closeness to Charlie-and vice versa-was an important thread of the story. Something gained, something lost….
I don't get the feeling that Charlie's family, especially his mom's parents, would be open or remotely sensitive to what Charlie needs. I don't think she has the relationship with her parents to lay down the rules, and they don't have the care to listen, even if she did.
Honestly just seeing her parents for the few minutes we did see them I understand why she’s the way she is and even when it comes to Charlie I felt like she knew something was going on but due to her trauma and her upbringing didn’t have the emotional intelligence to go to him about it and so to cope with that she just started micromanaging him which only made things were which only made her feel worse which is when she lashes out

That's amazingly hilarious, do you know in which interview Kit mentioned the dildo joke?

cackling over your immediate reactions to seeing David and Harry onscreen! 😆
also LOVED your commentary on Elle's storyline in this episode, and the bravery it takes for trans people to be themselves. ❤️
A much needed sweet episode where a few people can get in the bin.
