3:20 this is really the craziest shit I've heard to get your instruments out of your studio. :D Man I have a guitar and a violin and if they're gonna make my mix sound bad then it is how it is man. :D
Didn’t say instruments. Just acoustic guitars. They will creat resonating frequencies if the strings are not dampened. Check this video I made. th-cam.com/video/_0chDv-4u1c/w-d-xo.html
@@Jonsine Yeah I've watched all of your videos except those vacation ones. But as a musician and a composer I want my guitar to be at a hands reach at all times.
he didnt say instruments. Synthesizers keyboards drumpads are all instruments but they dont resonate. the issue he is addressing only counts for instruments that resonate
FINNEAS and Billie Eilish has a upright piano on next to the right speaker and the both speaker are lower than the ear position and its not even facing them. imo Talents matter more than putting a Guitar or not in the studio. and they won the Grammy award. that tells it.
Very classy video, great words of encouragement and wisdom to those who don't have the chance that many of us have. I wish plenty of success to the guys with laptops only set-ups. You are a great guy Jon.
Cheers for featuring me in the video man! Always love the content! And I agree about the early reflection on the window, but for now it will do as I'm moving out soon!
....I think everyone can agree that that guy at 5:34 should be the winner of the speaker giveaway....I'm sure other producers can live with their KRK's ;) hahaha
I started music production with old 90s PC monitors, a 2003 Dell Demention desktop PC, and a cracked copy of Reason and Goldwave in 2006. You mention having a good visual sound analysis software well Goldwave does that and has a similar graphics display as the one you mention you would like.
I can’t wait for him to start building the new studio. The floating floors and LED controllers are going to be fun videos.... then maybe he will do another studio? Hopefully!
I am not in a status to even show my room i have cheap monitors and audio interface but due to bad room i mostly work with headphones.. Hoping to upgrade in future not soon but.. anyways learnt a lot from you sir thankyou
The guy from the studio at 4:00 should lower the stands en put the monitor upside down! So that the tweeters are more at ear height... This is a trick that can be quite handy when you have a low ceiling..Never put them sideways! Some speakers can be placed sideways, but not many.. check the manual for that
I keep my Taylor Acoustic in a hardcase in my small and but relatively high end home studio so I am pretty sure you would agree this would not effect my mixing. I am not giving up on your outro song in yesterdays video which I think is called Save the Day. Is it one of your new songs? I really would like to hear the completed song when it is finished. So I am hopeful it will be released. Luckily my analog music gear will not resonate so I do not have to remove my Roland TR 909, Dave Smith Sequential Prophet 6, Alesis Andromeda A6, Dave Smith Prophet '08, etc. I do not think the TR 909 Snare will resonate. :)
Check out Flux Studio Sessions analyzer, it runs outside the DAW so it has some GFX enhancements - you can also network from another PC, it's also pretty reliable. I literally have a third screen dedicated to it!
@@Jonsine Oh, I should have mentioned, it comes with a separate plugin, so you can load it on your master or a specific channel, drag it around while the window remains locked on the other screen :)
I really hope that those with already good enough equipment dont sign up for the give away. I would love it if the prize would go to someone like the guy at 5:22
9:44 that screen is the surface 2 from Microsoft also touch screen www.microsoft.com/en-gb/p/surface-studio-2/8sbjxm0m58t4?activetab=pivot%3aoverviewtab
the winners are always announced and linked in the story of my Instagram. if you have any doubts of these "giveaways" then please feel free to contact the winners.
Ever seen deadmau5's OLD "studios"? They all were pretty shitty, you know that basement room with the washing machine, the kitchen sink, and the synths piled up in the middle? Even his previous one in his loft in Toronto (he already had a number of *massive* hits back then) wasn't exactly great compared to his awesome studio now. My point is: even though we all want the best studio ever technically possible, we better create great music first.

@@Jonsine and you are saying instruments because let's say I've have a cello. It's gon resonate a shit ton more than a acoustic guitar.

Am so happy to see how far you've come over the past few years.
Well done, Jon!

Do you have any opinions on GIK acoustics products or have any friends who use them?
Another really interesting video Jon

Foam works on small speakers.
Soon 100k ;)
just bought an ipad to use the sidecar feature on catalina ... gonna just have span or insight 2 on it
Hey Jon, time to get an Ipad you can put span on there via sidecar. Dont know about the latency tho. Also Izotopes Insight would be awesome on there.
I'm still waiting for the "screwed Up" joke when he unboxes screws😂
Hey jon can you please tell me who is the winner of last giveaway?
Check out the Dell P2418HT for a cheaper touch screen monitor than a Raven.

Thanks. How do you route the sound to it. Audio highjack or can it pickup any internal sound directly.

I have never been so early
owner of the studio at 6:37 PLEASE put fabric around the insulation its bad for your health..
I really hope that those with already good enough equipment dont sign up for the give away. I would love it if the prize would go to someone like the guy at 5:22
After removing 100% of all reflections I guess the next step for me is selecting some interesting notes to poke in the piano roll..
Hope this giveaway I get a chance to win speakers🙏🙏🙏🤞🤞 Love your Music and Vlog bro.
Where is my gm studio @jonsine? 😕

Who the f.... gives thumb down?
Someone not happy about their acoustic guitar strings resonating when they mix.
I do fine without all the fancy gear. Sod the neighbours why silence a good thing
