Elvis would soon be dead and Chuck Berry, Little Richard , Fats Domino, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Supremes, and more of her contemporaries were already old news. Even the Beatles had long since broken up. And then she left Ike to save her life. Ann Margret had to give her air fair to get away she was so broke. And then in 1984 she exploded with Private Dancer and never looked back. Only Jerry Lee Lewis outlasted her but he never really survived the 50s and early 60s in terms of success. There's no Madonna without Tina. There's no En Vogue without Tina. There's no Destiny's Child without Tina. She survived when others withered. She thrived when others faded away. R. I. P. Tina Turner. The forever Queen of Rock & Roll
