Him and Mannie Fresh had history. Fresh produced his whole first album as a kid (The Lyrical Midget) but I still think he still made the best move going to No Limit than Cash Money. Master P gave his artist more opportunities to shine as individual artist where as Baby had a small roster and at that time was more focused on Big Tymers (Him and Fresh) and The Hot Boys: Juvenile, BG, Wayne and Turk. Whole time truth of the matter is Mack is a very good artist and congratulations on his new found freedom and release from incarceration after 20 plus years but when the CashMoney movement took off it was like a perfect storm of talent with the Hotboys and they really didn't need Mack and I'm not sure he would have fitted in with CashMoney and the newly found style of Juvenile, BG, Turk and Wayne, then of course being with No limit records he was with the rival team that was trying to stop Cashmoneys success from being heard national and on a worldwide stage and it was very serious back then to let the truth be known anyone from New Orleans can verify this, not taking anything away from Mack but CashMoney gave you a up and close look at the New Orleans streets in 3 D like never before seen from a musical or hip-hop standpoint, but shout out to Mack be blessed breath easy and make the most of your freedom.

Glad u asked...so when I signed to NL it was in 1995 when P was headquartered in Oakland. As Mac said, he didnt even know P was from N.O. and associated him with Cali. The NL artist that I know and some still talk to till this day were in Cali...Serv On, Mia, KLC, Mo B Dick, King George, Cali G, C Murder, Silkk, and Big Ed (RIP). When P moved NL to Baton Rouge I went back home to Kansas City, Mo. You have to remember 95 percent of NL artist were from New Orleans and already knew each other. CCG were "outsiders" from Kansas City so its not far-fetched that many of us didnt cross paths. Glad to share the history. 💯
