Due to an odd twist of politics, China controls most of the water in Asia as it originates in Tibet, meaning that China's downstream neighbours depend on the goodwill of CCP for a reliable freshwater supply. So, in this video, we take a look at how China controls Asia's water, why it's becoming an issue, and what might happen next.

Ok, so there are some factual inaccuracies. Hydrological survey of Brahmaputra showed that 80% of the water in the river comes from the catchment area in India and not Tibet. Similarly, Indus captures water later as it crosses into Pakistan
exactly.....these people rely only on primary sources......they are very lazy to do indepth research before making a video.
This can be confirmed on google maps as the Brahmaputra drainage basin mostly lies within India
The region is also geographically one of the wettest places on earth, with a village called Mawsynram in that region receiving an average annual rainfall of 11,872 millimetres (467.4 in), making it one of the wettest places on Earth as mentioned on Wikipedia.

Moreover, independent Tibet existed for 39 years (1912 to 1951), not 2 as you claimed. Simply put, Tibet was almost never properly a part of China. Of course, Mao wanted control over the waters in the region, and illegally annexed Tibet in 1951, proceeding with forced Sinicisation subsequently. Excellent channel! One of the key factors to consider is the very positive India - Tibet relationship. In the event of a military conflict, I can't imagine native Tibetans aiding the PLA soldiers in any capacity.
It was positive between India and the Tibetan theocratic ruling caste who enslaved and abused the rest of the population. The average Tibetan probably doesn't mind whether they're under the CPC or the Dalai Lama since there's pros and cons to both
@MayankTrivedi2 Thanks to the invasion. It's sad tho
I have heard many narratives of this.
1. PLA find out difficult to recruit tibetans
2. PLA recruiting tibetans without issue.
3. PLA recruiting tibetans but don't trust them.
4. PLA not actively recruiting tibetans
5. PLA forcibly recruiting tibetans
Not exactly what to believe anymore.
You're mistaken to think Tibet can ever be a battlefield. Tibetan highlands are called the Ceiling of the world. It is the physical wall that separated Chinese and Indian civilization for thousands of years! But in a modern conflict highlands yield a significant artillery advantage. In plain terms, China can bombard Indian military and cities with little to no trouble. India can't fight a uphill battle in the tallest mountains of the world. Also millions of Chinese tanks & soldiers will descend upon India. Turning India into battleground.
If you're only counting on the Tibetans to save yourselves you're doomed already!!

@TLDR News Global: What is your criterion for some regions to be classified as disputed? CCP's claim on Arunachal Pradesh is not backed by any other nations, certainly not any Western nations, which currently is the defacto arbitrator of what is disputed and what is not. Yet, you show Arunachal Pradesh as disputed. Does it mean that even if a single nation disputes the territorial possession of any region of another country, you will be labeling that as disputed? Consensus of the other nations is unimportant? The CCP has disputes with more countries than they border, do all these countries lose their territory in your maps then? I think you should use a little bit of common sense when you show these provocative maps. CCP disputes everything that they can reach by their navy or army, and as their military might increase, this list of so-called disputed territories is only going to increase. Correction. Ganges donot originate in Tibet but in india . It's close to border but it's originating glacier is entirely in india.
Also majority of water in indus and Brahmaputra actually originate in india.
Himalayas is so high that it effectively block monsoon winds into Tibet.
That's why Tibet is so dry . Almost like a high altitude desert
Your maps of india is enough reason for india to go against you😂
Tf is your profile picture?? You weirdo
Typical western youtuber showing wrong maps of india and expect India to support them against russia😂😂
Yeah, because India's geopolitics depend on a random YT channel...
I don’t care, India can support Russia all it wants, as long as you people help us fight Chinese colonisation and communist slavery we are tight. And this is coming from a Polish person, trust me I have never heard a Polish politician complain about indias low key reliance on Russia, we understand you need to grow. Stop creating divides with these comments
@@a_kazakis pretty insane how far Hindu nationalism will go to claiming a TH-cam video should determine an entire countries geopolitical position lmao.
Least mentally ill nationalist
Thanks for putting right map if india.
Thank you for your video! As a person from China I have not yet realized that we can even control the water to limit and contain the growth of the India. But now I learned it from your video and I will share it with more Chinese friends to think about it. It is a excellent idea since the border invasion issues and the aggressive foreign policy from the India against China, we Chinese cannot always be silent to those invasions from India, and our CPC government really need to adopt a smarter and more effective method (based on your video) to overwhelmingly stop industries in nationalism India. 💪
"ringing the BEEEEeeeell"
First get your map correct. The whole J&K is shown here disputed, which is not. Check ground reality from locals, just like a real journalist instead of getting your news from other channels and repeating it.
TLDR is trying their best to appear impartial. Indians need to stop being so sensitive 😅
By that logic, the map of Palestine should show the Israeli settlements. Oh yes, that right your Government is pro-Israel...
@@earthalien2584that’s impossible when they are like that.😅
@MayankTrivedi2 do Americans bring that up all the time or use it as a excuse to say rude stuff to Afghanis or Russians? No.
@MayankTrivedi2 perhabs give the kashmiri people the right to self determination
"Goodwill of the CCP" is the funniest geopolitics joke I've ever heard since "de-Nazify Ukraine"😂
No is the answer
Do some research?
China laid claims on these territories using two sources: Tang and Yuan. The Tang managed to conquer Central Asia and parts of modern Afghanistan and Kashmir for over a century (650s-760s). The Yuan meanwhile annexed Tibet and parts of modern Himalaya terrain to interior China for the first time. Given this aspect, it is worth worrying that China will justify their territorial claims of previous dynastic empires to achieve their aims over India.
Why is taiwan is not part of Chinese map and why indian arunachal is disputed 😂 come on brit be decisive
Rivers that originate in Tibet get most of their water along the way through tributaries. In other words, irrespective of the origin, the primary catchment areas of those rivers are NOT within Tibet. Moreover, those rivers flow DOWN from the Himalayas into the Indian subcontinent for a reason. CCP can't fight gravity either.
Short answer : No
Long answer : No
可憐的中國
I live in China. Everything is miserable here, but no one dares to complain.
Our *air, rivers, and soil* are contaminated with poisonous chemicals. My city experiences *record floods year after year.* This is the result of decades of environmental and infrastructure negligence.
Seriously if there is next life, I wish to be born in any other country, except China.
I find it interesting that my former landlord renounced his Australian citizenship and moved back to China, then.
Hmm,repeated copy and paste comments.
I guess u live in 河南😂
@@anonmouse15Because of the uneven development in China and the wide gap between the rich and the poor, your landlord probably comes from some big cities in China or has lots of money.(not every city or province is as miserable as the blogger said😂

I cant even look at this video because of that map of India. Why do you have to gray it out. It belongs to India not anybody else.
Should never ever quote official Chinese numbers.
One can only hope.
If anything this is Karma for India not honoring its river treaties with Pakistan and Bangladesh

China is declining.
India 🇮🇳 is projected to become a developed nation in 25 years.
- At the same time, third-world China will become a second North Korea.
India is a joke. 20 years ago China GDP per capita was about two times as big as India. Now it's more like 4 times higher. If China is "declining" then India is hopeless. And I'm not a fan of China policies myself. While China has developed somewhat, India is one of these forever "developing", "superpower next decade" countries.
@@Zeroksas As of 2024, India's Median age is only 28 years while China's Median age is about 38 years. An average Chinese is 10 years older than the average Indian. This explains why China's economy is way ahead of India. But it also explains why currently China is stagnating while India is the fastest growing major economy.
"India is hopeless" Well i disagree India is one of the few major countries which has shown real growth in the 21st century. India was the 17th biggest economy in 1991 (End of Cold War) and next year it will be the 3rd biggest economy
@@indiafirst3676India is unlikely to be as big as China. It'll probably reach the same size as Japan and then stall due to an ageing population.
@@ZeroksasInterestingly productivity of both countries is same regardless of GDP per capita according to Wikipedia. Indian women just don't work
@@J_X999 India will surpass the Japanese economy next year in 2025. And India's Median age would reach atleast 40 years by 2040. India's aging would take place only after the 2050s
And Arunachal pradesh is in formly in India - not realky a disputed territory, despite occasional noises by china
I think it’s inevitable these two go to war but not until China has a go at Taiwan and India and Pakistan have a go

Whisky's for drinking; water's for fightin' over. 😊
2:45 - #India controls the access to #China's key shipping routes, both for it's oil & agricultural imports & for it's exports besides the proportion of water they can control is vastly lower. #China might believe #India is more vulnerable but the reverse is true.
