Basically Al-Haitham is Genshin's Frankenstein daddy:
Zhongli's body type
Itto's abs
Diluc's no-nonsense personality
Kaeya's mysteriousness and scheming
Childe's sussyness and bank account
Hoyoverse wanted to see how much the players would want him hahahha
And it worked, for me at least
If he ends up being playable in the next few banners, he might be the one Sumeru 5-star I’ll go for
He definitely seems like a character I want. I'm set on getting Nahida. Depending on when his banner is and how many pulls I'll need for Nahida I might get him. I have Nahida garuanteed so Al-Haitham is a big maybe still

Ngl this archon quest felt like the devs recently watched inception and the edge of tomorrow and wanted to mix the two. It turned pretty well imo

Apparently that sword techniques knowledge capsule permanently raised Traveller's base atk by 3. Not much but at least it actually did something.
Honestly sumeru story is amazing the most focused I was to a genshin story so far and with the world quest revealing a lot of things I am exited to see what future acts will do with how they set up is right now

I didn't expect ending up to like Alhaitham this much. Such an interesting character! I hope we'll get to learn some more stuff about him in the next patch.

There is a 16 hour-ish (if you read everything and dont skip) world quest chain about the vegetable people which unlocks a lot of exploration mechanics, deep in lore (some really unexpected things) as well as unlocks the 2 remaining zones. Only issue is that it is not voiced, but other than that its great.
Yeah that quest is good, but kinda dissapointing that it doesnt have voices
@@eriqkh7769 yeah, kinda hate that fact, like if they can make a whole nation with that long ass quest, new in-game mechanic, why couldnt they ask the Voice Actors Or even grab new Voice Actor for the no voice npc's (like aranara) In Those Weeks but pretty much liked the quest even tho it was so long

Us witnessing a person getting their vision is worth it, cause like, the ending would've sucked because we took so long just to get a bija and we would only use it once and thats it, happy ever after, nothing, but atleast hoyo made the ending and the rewards promising

for once a character that doesn't 100% trust us upon meeting lol I love the pacing for the archon quests so far. I hope they keep this up. took me 2 days to finish act I and was able to finish act II quicker just because I had more free time when I did that one. can't wait to see more from you!
I mean so far Sumeru has tons of characters who just have something to hide, he's one of those that just hasn't opened up to us right after yet

@@Nixahma From his perspective, the Traveler doesn't know what they're getting into and they're too inexperienced to be trusted with something seemingly as important as that corrupted Canned Knowledge.
The traveler p much told/showed him everything other than what "world, forget me" was.
Alhaitham's cutscene was so smooth and awesome but at the same time I kinda felt all the punches and smashes the boss gave to Tariq 😭
Very curious about Alhaitham tho. what's he gonna do with the capsules, why did he not tell us and why is he called a lunatic by Tariq 🤔

The Archon quest this time was so interesting, it was hard to stop playing 😄 The music at Port Ormos was so good too. I was reluctant to leave the port after finishing that part of the Archon quest.
I know, It was so good I considered turning the music down so I could focus on the dialogue.
IF ONLY he entered port ormolu in day time I was immediately amazed by the music

I'm dying to know if Alhaitham is gonna hold his end of the bargain now. He did say if we helped him get a chance to study the divine knowledge capsule, he would relay his findings to us, but his hiding that he got his hands on it in the end really points more to another Childe situation. It makes me wonder if he has any ties to Dottore - or heck, if he even IS one of Dottore's "segments". The blue-ish grey hair kinda matches...
Al Haitham is basically a bundle of the best traits of other characters. Lmao.
Watching this part after some time makes me think about my Al-Haitham theories again... I have two sorta likely ones at the moment. 1) is that Al-Haitham is part of the same secret organization that Diluc is. The way he operates kinda feels like he should be, at least?
And 2) is that he actually grew up on Sumeru streets and thus is likely to be orphan that at some point got picked up by the Akademiya OR Azar specifically. (I have a crack idea about Azar being Al-Haitham's bio dad, but that idea has no roots in canon at all other than "haha their interactions in canon would be so fucked up if they were father and son".) But anyway, the way he cracks down that Eremite scam and leads Traveler to Dori suggests he's VERY aware of what goes on in Sumeru streets and makes me think he could have grown up in some skeevy environment that led him to have connections etc. before he got picked up to Akademiya.
No way of knowing how far off these ideas are from his canon backstory tho, lol. Not until he actually drops as a playable unit.
The archon quest was different from what I expected but it was so good! And the music of Port Ormos is such a masterpiece!

I just thought that Al Haitham may be Il Dottore "in the prime of his Live" like in the Trailer. And the "he's doing some blasphemy" may be because of him actually being inside the academia and so on but working for the fatui against the academia and the god of wisdom from within
I had the same suspect, however the JP VA for Dottore and Al-Haitham are different (there are currently no info on the ENG VA for Al-Haitham) , so even though it still is a possibility (different ages = different voices for Dottore) it's a remote possibility.

When I first met Al-Haitham, I had a feeling of Déjà-Vue. The moment he gave me the mora pouch, I legit had a flashback to Childe story quest, when he also gave us a mora pouch to buy things for Teuces. After that, I became weary of Al-Haitham. I kept thinking 'Is he gonna pull a Childe on me?'. After doing the rest of the Sumeru Archon quest and his story quest, I’m still pretty weary of him. Although, I have a hate/love relationship with that guy. He gets on my nerves SO MUCH, but I can’t deny that he’s hot. Heck, I tried to lose the 50/59 on his first banner, but I won the 50/50 and got him. He now just sits there like a trophy.
Alhaitham is a Chad. Even the traveller is not aware that he snatched away the Divine Knowledge Capsule.

The world quest is long enough (well, SUPER DUPER LONG for a world quest) and a content-worthy quest if I may say, although, the quest doesn't have any voice-over. I also want to see your reaction throughout the quest cuz I can't watch your streams due to different time zone ;-;
Please play arana side quest it's so good. A bit long quest but super worth it.

Still laughing at the Scarlet King being basically the exact same thing as from the SCP Foundation lore. In that story, the Scarlet King may or may not be the most powerful anomalous being in existence. The story goes that the other SCPs named 001 are just to confuse people as the Scarlet King grows more powerful the more people who know about him. He is a god that currently is outside our universe trying to get back in, if enough people know of his existence he will be able to break back in and completely reshape the universe.
He also has a group of followers from an "extinct" civilization called the Daevites or also sometimes referred to as the Daeva or Daevas who originated from the middle east. These people have been gifted reality bending powers and knowledge of anomalous technologies from the Scarlet King himself in the hopes they help him come back to the world to end it finally.
It also is extra funny as one of his major antagonists is the god of technology and knowledge Mekhane much like the god of Dendro. It was said Mekhane and Yaldaboth joined forces to force the Scarlet King out of this universe, though it's not like Yaldaboth would stay on Mekhanes side for long. Even funnier is the supposed origins of the Scarlet King was the planting of the tree of knowledge known as Khahrahk. What are the odds of all of these totally innocuous connections to Genshin. XD
The SCP Foundation has some really cool lore. Highly recommend reading or hearing someone explain it.

After all the story and the exploration ive done in summeru, and I still got a ton more to do, Im loving it, Act 2 had a trope that wasn't my thing, but I could still see it was very high quality, and it wasn't painful like the other times I came across the trope so overall handled pretty well. The new gameplay has been really cool, the new enemies have been amazing, really fun to fight and to also just look at, all their idle animations, dances, playing cards, playing instruments, crocodiles letting birds clean their teeth, the wooly beasts laying around and sleeping, The tigers just lounging about. its all so pretty.
I find it interesting that so many people are saying 10/10. I would definitely say that the landscape and general layout of sumeru is somewhere around a 9/10 and with the addition of the desert it might actually get that 10/10. As for the story, I would say more like a 7/10 tops (I'm factoring both acts and the Aranara quest chain). I did really enjoy the story involving Dunyarzad (she is now one of my favorite characters) but the rest of it was just OK. There were even some parts in act 2 that I thought were a bit boring... I'm not saying it's bad but it IS OK to be critical of something that you enjoy instead of blindly saying it's a flawless masterpiece. Anyway, great video Bran :)

think sumeru is an 8, its super good, yet its so incredibly easy.
It'd be really funny if, after this part of the story, you deal 1 additional damage with any attack you do, as a reference to the fact that you technically got slightly stronger from that knowledge capsule

i just noticed that on spanish Alhaitham name is writen diferent but it makes the pronunciation kinda similar to english (they ussually just keep the english names) and if you think that even english name is not really acurate shows how much did Mihoyo strugled with arabic names (insert Tighnari)
