So if you don't get that Tax clearance certificate, can you still sell the property or not ? And if yes, is the tax authority department holding a percentage of the selling price ?
The tax system seems to be so bad in Greece so why even bother and get into it ? Isn't it better to look at some other friendlier tax countries such as Portugal ?
I have a property in Greece but I don’t have any income in Greece. I am Chinese not live in Greece but holding Greece RP card. Do I have to declare taxation?
It is always best to file a tax declaration since you do own property and have a PR card, even if you are filing 0 income you may need your declarations down the road and you will be fined if you haven't done your taxes.
If you have money, better to forget about Greece and get the Monaco residency. 0 tax on any capital gain, never any income tax return since the country doesn't tax its residents. So all the money you make is tax free. That's how you become richer ; otherwise, you end up losing a big chunk of your money to the tax authority, especially in Europe.
It's not subject of video but I will give you some information that are important if you want to live in greece 1 kw of electricity cost 0.055 cent So that means that normal familly that spends about 400kw will pay 20e . But every month you need to pay from 50-100 e for some sf, taxses . So even if you spend 0 kw your bill will be from 50 to 100 e . And I'm talking just about electricity.the same is for many other every day things
Plus the VAT on products and services are 24%, that's one of the highest rate in the world I think, isn't it ? Do you have any other practical suggestions ? Thanks.
@@Roamfarandwide Lol that sounds typical in Greece. I have emailed a realtor 15 days ago and he just answered me yesterday so I am wondering if that's the way they do business ? If yes, cannot be taken very seriously I guess.
thanks for the video. Can you confirm if capital gains on the sale of stocks / securities is taxed at 0%/ Also if I pay myself dividends from an overseas company, is this taxed at 5%? Thanks again
Why are the tax authorities such soul sucking non sensical monsters in Greece !? Forcing people to have to declare businesses bankrupt in order to settle an unfair tax debt accrued because and increased during a pandemic. That’s absolutely ridiculous and that there would be absolutely no way to fight ending up in such debt needlessly when people are just trying to survive is definitely despicable.
Taxation in Greece is quite confusing, our hope is that with these videos we help people that don't live in Greece gain a better understanding of the system! Sorry to hear you've had such a terrible experience.
Thanks for providing this video, it clarifies what I have read about nil tax returns but always good to hear it from the horses mouth so to speak.
Question! 🙋🏻♀️ can you count bank statement for business expense or do you need to have invoice for tax purposes
