NOTE: On NVIDIA Settings, make sure to "Apply" the settings on the bottom of that window.

them reason it still works is cause that file line you're changing turns of Vsync :) it's an option they should have in settings.

Because it docen't make them money
mostly because things like physics are tied to the framerate and vsync is a quick fix to make sure that they don't go crazy.

Amazing. The first step still works in 2022. I got confused because my fps was capped at 48 fps, no matter what settings. After following the first step, it increased a lot. Thanks bud!

As of 12/20/2018 this worked. Went from 40fps to 80 solid fps. Thanks man i was getting real pissed my $1500 computer couldn't play this smooth.
Little tip notepad ++ kicks ass check it out. Make's editing stuff like this way easier an nicer.

I could run even the newest games at a solid 90fps at ultra everything at 1920p but when I first downloaded this I was getting like 15fps.
Saw this video on 5/9/20 and did exactly this and everything is running back at 90fps.

Still works today, November 2022. I have a 11900k + 3090 and noticed the video card was not even utilizing most the time. It would be around 40%. Went into the Nvidia settings and turned off vsync. Just doing that took the game from around 50 FPS to 165 which is the max this monitor can display. No other changes made.

Hello from the post Fallout series resurgence! Can confirm that this still absolutely works!
Thanks! This helped myself and 2 others last night! We went from 100 fps, but feeling alot lower, to 300-500 fps. We ran into a glitch though that causes your character to get stuck in doorways or even in place, and the fix we found online was to limit the game fps, so we all set fps limits to 240fps in the AMD Adrenaline software by selecting the game, and enabling Radeon Chill, and setting paramters to 230-240 fps. This game runs buttery smooth now.

Great video and guys, this still works ! If the line is missing, add it under the [Display] header. The revised line should read 'iPresentInterval=0' to disable vsync and remove the framerate limiter. Thanks for the Video man, I gave a like ;)

getting a big boost in frames even when i was at 70-90fps before it felt like it was capped at 30. so much more smooth.

I've been in and out of Fallout76 over the years but have been put off by the horrible fps... That first bit just INSTANTLY fixed it! I have a high end pc so i thought the game would play fine on ultra. With this fix i can finally play and enjoy the fallout76 world.

my dude your a legend i have a rtx 2080 bought it brand new it ran better on ps4 than pc smho lol with your method i immediately got to about 120-160 fps but i still have a 240 hertz monitor.... altough thx so much

Thanks dude, I was getting 20fps but my cpu and gpu were only at 10 percent utilisation. This has fixed it

Hey Ty So mutch. I was searching like a year now and cant find somthing that helped That mutch ! the game runned well at 30+ fps but every 30 seconds i had fps drops to 0 for 3 seconds and with your help i got smooth 100+ fps with no frame drops. Again Thank you so mutch

14.06.2019. Started Nuclear Winter. 50-60 fps max, no matter whats settings i use. sometimes drops to 30-40, unplayable. Did the 2 steps he shows us in the video. i now have 90-110 fps and can even put up the settings to High and the fps dont drop / decrease. Just amazing guide. Thumps UP !

This worked for me in January 2021! Thanks bro! I have 1080 TI and I had crazy lag spikes from 60fps down to like 25 and now it's stable between 90fps and 130 which is amazing!

YOURE MAGIC, after update of 16/07/2019...here we go my specs, Ryzen 5 1400, 12gb Ram, SSD Kingston 222GB, Win 10, GTX 1050Ti, and the game on mid was going from 1 to 60fps, sometimes just frezze at 1 and run up to 60 and then it whent to 30, but mostly was on 25-47, after your fix, it went from "loading screens = 1000fps(no cap 60)" and gameplay "Heavy city/textures charge = 45-55 STABLE and not going from 0 to 60"...thank you so much, now im going on high sets! smooth and nice!

@@Mustaach wtf .... are you really sure hahahahahah that dosent work anymore after beta its finish .. bethesda cpa at 63 fps the game ... if you dont trust me ... read carefully the description of the man post the video .. he said itself that dosnet work anymore after version 1.0.,0.6 so... how did you getting work .... if you realllyyyyyyyyyyyy have more then 63 fps in game today ... i reallllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy want to know what you did .. i found nothing on web for a week on this .. nobody found it so ... you will make a lottttt of people happy if you find a solution to make it work more then 63 fps ... go check it really well.. and if .. asnwer me i want to know what you had done .. certainly not what if in this video ..
