@@amandad422 I think he said it as to not make assumptions, if that makes sense. Since being straight is still the default, he was likely not trying to label Klaus and just let him say it by himself. I'm assuming Klaus has never spoken about his sexuality with them before, so if Diego said "he" Klaus may have been taken aback by the immediate assumption that it was a guy. Idk if that made sense but it's how I interpreted it.

Yeah but that would have to mean that Five we age them all up. Otherwise it would be kinda weird for a kid to run up to Dave and we wouldn't get the beautiful love story we want to badly. I really hope that in season 2 they age back up anyway.
I wrote this comment before I saw the end. But hopefully they go back to the future and talk to eachother when they're older.
Them going back in time causes Klaus to never get the suitcase and therefore never travel back in time to meet Dave. It's sad. But maybe Dave's spirit will remember even though it's a different time line or maybe Klaus not being in the war, Dave wasn't at that exact spot and therefore never died to begin with, Klaus would possibly run into Dave when he's an old man. It's sad for sure.
Will there be a season two?
Think about it - both Klaus and Vanya embraced their powers because of their significant others (Dave and Leonard respectively, regardless of how toxic V/L relations were), but for Vanya it caused only pain and destruction while Klaus managed to gain control over his abilities and life (relations with his family, motivation to keep going).
I think it was a beautiful subplot for a season.

Okay... but when Klaus is clutching the pill in his hands and instead it shows Dave's body on the floor of the club, bruh thats pain. I felt that
Klaus was one of my favorite characters along with Number 5. Klaus seemed to be struggling with inner demons, trying to get sober, the loss of a lover named Dave, not knowing his full potential until the end of the last episode, and for God's sake, he was thrown, choked, and taken hostage once. I mean, Klaus went through it all, which is why I loved him the most tbh.
The scene when Dave gets shot absolutely breaks my heart. The pure terror and sadness in klaus’ voice while he’s screaming “No no no no!” leaves me in tears
When Klaus came back and we didn't know yet what had happened I knew that he is broken and just experienced the worst. Robert's acting was phenomenal in all of these scenes! And the relationship between Diego and Klaus is everything. I wanna cry and scream and hug them and wrap them up in blankets and make them some hot drinks!!
I want more of them I’m so sad that we only got a brief glimpse of their relationship. #justicefordave

Until he literally saves their asses, no one in the family (except Ben, and kinda Diego) really ever supported him, always ignored him and put him down. He disappeared and no one noticed. He literally could have been dead and no one would have known, and frankly, before the last episode, I don’t think they really would have cared.
Queen _G the only reason Diego knew Klaus was missing was because Patch told him that she had found his brother, and he had Luther and Five with him, so by order of elimination, Klaus was who she was talking about.
communistdaughter when Klaus told Diego he’d lost someone, Diego used the excuse that he’d lost two people, but what we’ve seen from what little interaction there’s been between Grace and Klaus, Klaus lost her too. He seemed happy when she put out a small fire for him, a fire he was more than capable of putting out himself.
Gotta day though, Grace didn’t seem to like Klaus much. They had barely any interaction throughout the whole show, and what little we see of them interacting, she was putting out a fire Klaus probably started and said ‘boys will be boys’ instead of making sure he was okay or saying something like ‘please don’t do that again’ or ‘be more careful next time’ like she would’ve with the other siblings. She was probably just rushing, but she did take her sweet time helping out Diego, but understandable he was her favourite. Idk, just thought that Klaus would’ve had more interaction with his mum since he seems like the kind of person who would either be super kind to their parent after a loss or made subtle digs at her, but he just flat out didn’t talk to her the whole show.
(We do see Mama Klaus is one episode tho- making the bois coffee)

Well I’m getting through it by thinking that since number five still had all his memories when he moved back in time so like 58 year old in the body of a kid, everyone else will also have the consciousness of an adult and have all the memories of their life so he’ll still remember all his time with Dave

when I started the umbrella academy, I thought “klaus is a crazy stupid man🙄” but no, he’s the most lovely and broken baby ever also the strongest. he used to drugs, etc, but it was because of he CAN SEE their dead brother & ghosts, and he has a trauma bc of his own dad. he lost his love of his life in war and his siblings didn’t understand him because they DIDN’T LISTEN him. I love him so much. he deserves too much better.
