And he was right. It broke my heart for Klaus that no one noticed he was missing after Cha Cha and Hazel kidnapped him and none of them went running to rescue him. They owe Klaus everything next season. And that goes for Vanya too.
I felt a connection with Klaus during the show and Robert Sheehan is such am amazing actor and made me feel the pain that the character was enduring.

I hope in season 2 his siblings will finally realize the amount of torture Klaus has been through. He was born with a morbid ability to see and hear ghosts that he can't turn off without doing drugs or drinking. He was locked in a mausoleum for hours and hours on end. He was tortured for 10 hours straight, and none of his siblings came for him or even noticed until Patch told Diego. He was transported into the middle of the Vietnam War, fell in love, then had the love of his life die in his arms. He's going through active withdrawal, yet none of his siblings believe him. He freaking died trying to help Luther and only Ben knows about that. He saw Reginald again but all that really came out of it was him saying how much of a disappointment Klaus was. Seriously, I'm hoping and praying that in season 2 the others will realize the Hell he's been through
If you go even further in the comics, it's known that Klaus was experimented on and had harsher training way more than his other siblings. I really hope the same, that he finally gets some recognition and care because he needs that so much.

Klaus acts like he doesn’t care about life a lot of the time but inside he’s truly v emotional and his life is falling apart around him! Robert Sheehan did such an amazing job at portraying this in Klaus!

On the surface Klaus seems like the happy go lucky stereotype in a show, but when you look deeper, you see the pain and lose. His father locked him in a mausoleum for hours on end. He was kipnapped and tortured and none of his siblings noticed. He turns to drugs and alcohol to drown out the ghosts, and the love of he life literally died in his arms. But he hides it all with a smile. That takes true strength.
he doesn't hide anything and he's definitely not happy-go-lucky, you make it sound like he's strong for other people which is the opisote of what he is. he's broken. he's an incredibly broken sarcastic maniac who spends his entire time numbing himself and hiding from the demons that live in his head, quite literally. hes so sensitive, can you imagine what having the dead constantly calling on you, crying, screaming in pain, would do to a person like that?

He doesn't tell any of his siblings about how he's haunted and tortured by the spirits, they likely don't know about him being locked in the moseleum as a kid, he hasn't told them about his time in Vietnam and how the love of his life died in his arms. He carries all of his pain internally. He's much more sober towards the second half of the season so he's not constantly on drugs like in the beginning. He's always taking care of his siblings whether it's helping find Luther, trying to help get Vanya released from her prison, helping Five at the eye lab, trying to commune with thier father even though he doesn't want to, using his powers to conjure Ben when they're trapped in the theatre. Yeah, he checks out every now and then but majority of the time he shows up, which is nice considering they could care less where he is most of the time.
Hes trying to hide it, but he really isnt doing a good job, for any reason he may have. But his siblings dont notice anyways so who cares whether or not hes hiding it anyways
Man I was really hoping for S2 to treat him well, but no. I was hoping for his family to see him on a different point of view but still, his addiction was treated as comedic relief, and he’s still treated like the weakest link of the family that they’re only carrying around because he’s a vessel of his more powerful brother. They don’t give a shit that he’s struggling and kept calling him a coward/weak for his addictions bro pls 😭 And lets not forget the dinner scene when Ben was possessing him and they thought he was having a seizure but instead of being concerned they were like “Is he dying? Overdosing? Wow so embarrassing wtf not here Klaus,” like??? Will it hurt for them to acknowledge his fragility and pain and be understanding for once, like Klaus did for Vanya in S1 when she was locked up? I swear Ray has comforted him more than his own family when they were in the prison talking about Klaus’ struggles with his cult. Smh.

They have to be building up to something at this point. They keep piling on new traumas without fixing the old ones, and at the same time the writers keep hinting that Klaus has some serious untapped potential power-wise. I was also expecting big things for Klaus this season, but I think they're pushing it onto season 3 for an even bigger payoff (eg. psychotic break wherein he uses his powers to destroy the mausoleum with Elton John playing in the background)

Oh god, I just realised that the reason he was on the floor of the club crawling around was because he was having a panic attack because of his major ptsd and he just wanted the drugs to stop it and make him numb. I don't understand why nobody in his family saw that he was the most broken out of all of them, but was also the one who needed his family the most, but it really hurts when you realize how alone he was his whole life, the only company he had coming in the form of hundreds of dead people screaming at him.
I find it hilarious that most people romanticize Klaus ' pain and suffering yet if any of the commenters actually met anyone who was like him in real life they would treat him like garbage.

I really hope Klaus can use his true power to show his siblings that he isn’t powerless, that he can take thing seriously. Because Klaus is one of the most powerful of the siblings when he finds his true power. He can take things seriously. But he tries to lighten up depressing times when nobody really sees the light in the distance. But then nobody actually thanks him for it, they don’t see the light then venture down into the darker parts of the cave. And to be honest, Klaus is probably the only person who truly shows compassion and love towards all the siblings. He died trying to save Luther, he spent lots of time Diego and smiled when he was with him. And was hugging and crying with Allison when they got the tattoos. He straight up said “I love you” to five, he teamed up with Ben and tried to listen to him. He never talked back to vanya, and he even tried to let her out of the “cage” Luther put her in. Yet nobody shows him love back. (Besides from Dave. Rest In Peace) I really feel like Diego and Ben are the only people that understand or try to understand Klaus. Diego talked to Klaus on a brother to brother level, he helped Klaus try to get him sober, he even forced Klaus and tied him up because he cares about him! Ben, he punched Klaus cause he cared about him and didn’t want him to poison himself anymore. He literally tried to catch a bowling ball for Klaus! He helped Klaus in the toughest of times like when he was being torture by hazel and Cha Cha.
So, Let’s hope Klaus is really happy, is loved, and is listened to and understanded by his family in season 2

Klaus and 5 were my absolute favorites. Klaus especially. Loved him from the beginning. I saw through that armor immediately. He's funny, witty, sassy, but also loving, caring, accepting. Forget the drugs and drinking, those were just escapes like they are for most people, a way for him to cope. It has got to be exhausting hearing and seeing the dead constantly, without end, day and night. And since you are the only one they can turn to, you get them all, constantly yelling at you to listen to them, to do something for them, etc. The real Klaus, under all that, is a great guy.
First of all, I just love Klaus. His character is so broken, yet he himself is scrambling to pick up all the pieces after Dave.
Robert Sheehan is such an amazing actor, too. It makes it so much better.
I hate how much the other siblings focus on themselves and claim that they went through just as much hell as Klaus or 5 or even Vanya. The others all dwell in their sorrow but have no sympathy for the shit those three have gone through. Especially Klaus. Our boy needs a hug👋

I feel like Klaus is Gerard's favorite character to write of the Umbrella Academy, because there is just so much of him in Klaus, at least for the show. How Gerard is(or at least was) obsessed with death and the inescapability of it, and his favorite monster being vampires because immortality sounded cool paired with God sending Klaus back so as to not deal with him, effectively making Klaus at least temporarily immortal, and then both of them being very happy while inebriated, and spending a huge amount of time being so constantly. And then Klaus meeting Dave on a bus whilst overseas, aka on a tour, almost like Gerard was reminiscing over meeting someone he loved on tour whilst facing a ton of people he may have perceived to be waiting for him to mess up, driving him to drink in the first place(Gerard said he didn't feel like he could be the performer people wanted him to be unless he was drunk). And then the rest of the Umbrella Academy just ignoring the fact that Klaus was so dependent on substances because it was just Klaus and the way he was, like MCR did with Gerard and his drinking. And then Klaus getting sober, at first depending on other people to hold him to staying sober, and then decided to hold himself to it and distracting himself, that is exactly what I did when I decided to stop self harming. I tried to get my family to take away my options, but I just kept finding new ones and I eventually decided that if I wanted to be better, I had to actually acknowledge that this was my problem and I had to hold myself to fixing it and found myself distractions whenever I wanted to pick up a razor or a bottle of pills or even a matchbox (I'm a little over 2 years clean). And then Klaus only being able to see his loved one when he was clean and deciding to change his life style so he could be with Dave, almost exactly like when Lindsey threatened to walk out with Bandit when Gerard relapsed or when decided to leave MCR so he could be there as a father for Bandit as opposed to dying via addiction and making her watch that happen. And the Klaus being locked in a mausoleum when he was a kid, like Gerard growing up in that really rough neighborhood and not really playing outside much cause you could get kidnapped, killed, or find a dead body in the local park and having to grow up knowing that the possibility of finding that was there if he went outside and not being able to leave that environment or escape that mentality. And then the Umbrella Academy not noticing when Klaus was gone, almost like when Gerard wasn't bullied in school, just ignored which was at times worse because then he'd be alone to torture himself.
He's my favorite character, even though he's been through the most traumatizing stuff he still keeps going+He's hilarious
Klaus and Vanya are truly the most tortured of the siblings, however Klaus his trouble is overlooked often because of his drug habit, it is really sad.

I know Vanya is showed as the most hurt character, but Klaus has been through so much more even with his power his family treated him like he didn't belong. His power is honestly a curse that his father sued against him multiple times to the point where he needed drugs to stop it and order to not feel alone he kept his brother from not moving on. His father even told him he was his greatest disappointment which is terrible to hear from your dead father.
And once they finally had a scene to where one of his siblings asked him what happened "Diego" the timeline got flipped and it never happened. He lost his love in Veitnam and has terrible ptsd from his trauma as a child and Vietnam.
In season 2 he finally get attention from other people, but its still not his family so he's still alone more then ever
i’m kinda happy that ben has been there with klaus this whole time... and when he comes back to life, he better stick with him

Klaus is such a good fucking character, his pain shows so much in Robert Sheehan’s performance, it is so vivid and raw that you would never guess he is a character and not a person... he deserves so much and went through so much suffering, if he gets anything short of the happiness he deserves in s2 I will be so angry. This also brought me to finalize the decision that I will rewatch the Umbrella Academy, I am ready to lay eyes on some actual art for a lil while

My baby💔 seriously this is so well made and it suits him so well.
Number 1 - Was sent to the moon and turned into an ape. He suffered believing that his father was a good man who loved each and every one of his adopted children.
Number 2 - Hated his father and suffered watching his girlfriend die and never forgave himself for that. Fell in love with Lila, the daughter of the Handler, and suffered his consequences loving her.
Number 3 - Never could see her child anymore because of using her powers, she is divorced, and she's a famous celebrity. Doesn't use her powers anymore for the risk of other's lives.
Number 4 - Suffered his father's cruel actions for many years as a child and watched his boyfriend die in war. Never forgot his boyfriend's death and wanted to warn his boyfriend (in the past) about the dangers of war and that he would fall in love with him, but he didn't believe him.
Number 5 - Smartest out of all of them, he knew his father wasn't a very good man and accidentally got himself stuck through time. Watching how his siblings died, he was slowly losing his sanity until he returned back.
Number 6 - Didn't want to use his powers as a child because he was afraid of risking other's lives. Died in a mission and watched Klaus grow up and live his life, while he remained as a ghost.
Number 7 - Mistreated and manipulated into thinking she didn't have powers like the others. Soon regrets using her powers when she realizes she destroys an entire world with her powers. Falls in love with someone and loses her when she has to leave the past and return back to her time.

Hearing the desperation in his voices, makes me wanna cry. His feeling of wanting to be noticed by his family without being shown the feeling uselessness.
I have such a strong emotional connection with Klaus because I can understand how he feels. The not being noticed, nobody taking you seriously, all that comes from your parents is that you'll never live up to their expectations, your siblings treating you like garbage and not even trying to understand what you're going through mentally. Robert does such a great job at acting and just really capturing the pain of what Klaus feels that sometimes I feel like Klaus actually exists. And I relate so much with him that sometimes it hurts honestly.
Damn this fictional character got me sobbing, laughing and smiling. He's the best member of the Umbrella Academy. Every time I see him I just wish I could hug all his pain away😭❤

I love klaus so much. He honestly is one of the most complex and fascinating characters in the whole show. His gift was traumatic. Seeing the dead at such a young age and being locked up and forced to deal with it... seeing all the violence... no he didn’t deal with it correctly but with Thayer father like he was it’s no wonder Klaus turned to drugs to deal with his shit. He’s seen as this big disgrace to the family but honestly aside from Vanya, Klaus is probably the most hurt out of any of them. Maybe just as much or maybe even more. And then he went back in time and space and experienced war and he fell in love and then had to watch the man he loved die. Then he had to come back to the world where everyone sees him as a fuckup and nothing more.
Its honestly my favorite fandom... and klaus is one of the coolest character ive ever seen in a show/movie...

He lost the person he loved the most and then had ptsd. He hears voices and sees dead people and the only way to stop it is to drink alcohol or do drugs, which caused an addiction. Nobody even realised he was gone when Hazel and cha cha kidnapped and hurt him and when he came back he was clearly scarred and hurt. Also the two people that cared for him the most are dead. :( poor thing somebody give him a hug

He doesn't really feel safe in his own skin, which is something I can definitely connect with. No one in his family really cares for him, which is what I feel like. And so much more. He was broken because of his father, looked in a mausoleum for hours and hours on end, sometimes days, he has this terrible ability where he can see the dead, no one in his family noticed that he was gone, tortured, and many more things.
I just wish he gets the recognization he deserves in season 2.
The only people who really take Klaus seriously is Ben and kinda Diego ( I hope Klaus a Diego build up a stronger bond though)

Wow, where to start. Fabulous job making this, it's genuinely the best Klaus edit I've ever seen - beautiful timing and general editing matches the song perfectly. The pain that klaus has had to go through BREAKS. MY. HEART. He deserves so much better 😭
Thing is, I like season two Klaus. Why? Because it's logical, and makes sense. He seems a lot less broken, frazzled. That's because he's gotten better at hiding it. Even Ben can't bring it out, but he has been a cult leader. When thousands of people look to you and at you, you learn pretty quick to think fast, and shut down your own feelings faster. People say he doesn't do anything, or acts more selfishly, but when you have pushed everything down as to not appear contradictory or flawed, and then you let it all go to save the one you love, only to fail, then I'd say becoming selfish is the best case scenario. If Klaus had lost it after realising Dave would still die, he could be the doomsday cause. Think about it, every single persons soul that still lingers, now brought back and is being controlled by a man whonwas wronged, tortured, and his own family scorns him. That sounds like a doomsday plot. But the thing is, Klaus is kind, Klaus is constantly dealing fish guilt and regret, but smiles because he loves his family, and is a good guy. So with the power that puts Vanya to shame, he has the only desire to live happily and for his family to be happy.
The song and edit on this video does a fantastic job of capturing the pain and beauty of klaus H 😭

You did such an amazing job editing this that it caused me to actually watch the show, I absolutely love it and is really hoping we'll someday get the next season
