Wonderful performance! I particularly admire the understanding of the relationship of each variation to the opening bass line as well as the overall cohesion of these disparate variations. Will certainly be referring to this recording as I work on this piece!
Beethoven seriously includes such a diverse repertoire. Sonata 21 (I think, waldstein sonata) totally threw me off when I found it was his work. Beethoven is my #1
Fantastic interpretation of ‘Eroica’ Variations, Op. 35 - very “orchestral” rendition, a little bit ‘wild’ and crazy but in positive meaning. Different from marvellous Yulianna Avdeeva’s interpretation of this work from Warsaw Recital but Kissin is also very good! Bravo!
Agree. It sounds really orchestral rather than pianistic, especially in the variations I think LvB wanted to sound orchestral, like IX and XIII. And Kissin's voicing is beautiful, like it always is. The theme is always sung out clearly when it appears.
But not crazy enough to add the implied contra-Eb to the end of the Basso del tema intro apparently.... Love this interpretation and love Evgeny, it's a perfect vehicle for his musicianship and virtuosity

There are several of pianists now of his age more interesting, in my opinion, Trifonov is one. @@dolce6719 えっ‼️そうなんですか⁉️彼が30年以上前、来日した時、テレビでリサイタルを観て、可愛さと神業的な演奏を観て以来大好きで、ほぼ毎日CDやDVDで聴いています。死ぬまでになまで聴くのが夢だったので行きたいですが、三年前交通事故にあい、ちょっと難しそうです。

@@dolce6719 ありがとうございます。彼のように子どもの頃神童といわれたピアニストが巨匠になるのは極めて稀だといわれますが、まさしく彼は国際コンクールに全く出ないで、世界一のピアニストになった奇跡の人ですね‼️亡くなったピアニストの中村紘子さんが、キーシンのピアノには天使と悪魔が存在していて、一度聴いたら、その魔力にとりつかれ、また聴かずにいられなくなる、とおっしゃっていました。その通りだと思います。いつも彼の演奏を聴くとぞくぞくします。ちなみに最近は、ブラームスのハンガリー舞曲が好きです。ショパン、ベートーベンは定番ですが。長々と綴ってしまいました。すみませんでした。
