For the underwater ball and ring puzzle: This particular puzzle pushes the ball then pulls it back and in order to make it push it all the way into the ring. Use your skill for the shield then when the water current is about to pull the ball back towards it, block the current by staying in between the ball and the current while using the shield. And then when it starts pushing, stop blocking the current ans let it push the ball towards the ring. Ans then when it pulls back you're going to do the same process again until it reaches the ring.
Fontaine is actually fun to explore. I thought it would be overwhelming. Fontaine is the first region that I never used any TH-cam videos to get 100%. I have two areas 100% percent they had their challenges but it was pretty easy and fun. 😲💗 (Well I used 3, one for hydroculus, deciphering pages, and the legends)
I agree it doesn't have very annoying puzzles like sumeru or inazuma (except that one puzzle near the melusine village) i haven't finished exploring it yet but it's very fun so far
Im dreading clearing out inazuma. I like the bosses there, but not crazy about the puzzles. Fontaine is super fun and I also really like sumeru, although I still need to clear it (I just rushed through the archon quests in time for Fontaine). I do actually enjoy the desert though and plan on exploring it after I finish the 1sr half of Fontaine.
Imo, Fontaine's world quests have been the absolute best so far. It all being interconnected with the land, the Melusines, the Abyss, Alain Guillotin. I even felt vaguely emotional (I'm usually not very empathetic) when finishing Mary-Ann's quest, thinking about those long dead people and their complicated relationships. I hope they continue this storyline. I'm still curious about whether we'll ever "meet" Rene or find about what exactly happened to Carter. The music and atmosphere in these places was absolutely top notch as well.
For underwater: There are 3 skills underwater that you can get from 3 different animals by poking them. The first one is the one you get from the sting rays that deals 16k damage. You have 2 charges for the skill and you can use them to both attack and/pr line them up and cut the seaweed to free chests and animals from the seaweed cages. The second one is the one that gives you the shield and you can actually parry using that shield by letting the enemies hit you with hydro then hitting them back dealing 54k damage ans it is actually the proper and correct way you're supposed to kill the tanky enemies with. You can also use the shield to block currents and you can break stones with blue scratches on them with that skill. The third one is the one that shoots waves of damage dealing 5k on impact per hit. And it can be used to activate echoing conches. You can activate lanterns that are locked inside a room by shooting them through the metal fence wall. And you can use it for long range and some times challenges.
17:05 I also spent quite some time in this puzzle because I don't want to look things up LMAO. but the way I solved is by: letting the ball stop in the middle from the current on the right (the one that pushes the ball towards the ring), then block the current from the ring (pressing E/activate shield from crab), and wait until the right current pushes the ball again to the ring.
Honestly, I feel bad about fighting a lot of "foes" in this game. Hilichurls? They're just chilling most of the time, minding their own business. Treasure hoarders? That was one of my biggest complaints since the very beginning.

17:57 There is. Read the G hints for the power thingy. Different underwater powers have different abilities. I have listed down below the usages for each creature's skill/power. CRAB = SHIELD The skill that you can get from the CRABS give you a shield which stops YOU and anything beyond you from getting affected by the water currents (you'll notice that without the shield, you and the ball will be dragged/pushed by the current--the shield stops that). You also use this against the crab bosses underwater as it is technically the only underwater attack that works on them without getting yourself killed first. The crabs are deadly underwater, especially the mid-boss crab. The crabs attack by spinning like a top towards you. You hold E and then release it when they're almost near you. It acts like Beidou's E skill which reflects their own damage onto themselves. Lastly, use the crab skill to break crystals underwater. It works very much like Zhongli's E skill. STING RAY = SLASH The skill you get from the STING RAYS help you slash through the kelp puzzles underwater. The kelp puzzles only get cut when you cut the green orb parts TOGETHER in one slash (which means you need to find an angle that allows you to slash through the green weak points simultaneously in one slash). There's a set of twin sting ray mid-bosses that you CAN NEVER KILL unless you have the sting ray's slash powers. Hold E and hit the "weak point orb" that appears when the two sting rays try to do a combo attack together. Hit it the way you slash through the kelp puzzles. SEAL = WAVE The skill you get from the SEALS help you attack things that are behind obstacles. Let's say there's a column in front of you and there is a portcullis (the grilled metal gates with square holes; just look the image up on google) on either side that encloses a pneumousia mechanism that you need to hit to open up the portcullis. You can use the SEALS' power of generating ring-like waves. The power literally acts like a WAVE and goes through the square holes of the portcullis and attacks the mechanism INSIDE it to open the portcullis. If that sounded specific, it's because that is exactly the first ever underwater puzzle I encountered. And I found out firsthand that while the seals look cute, they can actually very much kill you just by singing underwater.
My two favourite genshin youtubers really push themselves to suffer with exploration and I live for it. I love it. It's great background noise for when I myself am suffering with exploration
You're not alone!! The first time i went in the water i saw one of those ring puzzles. Got it through the first ring and then was very confused. I saw the second ring but was really dumb i guess. Turns out i needed to break a rock a ways away that opened up a current.
Java slowly finding out things and having to just figure it out is why i wish he watched the videos. Like at least then he’d have a basic understanding, it’s not really spoilers, it’s literally gameplay tutorials
17:58 the solution for these water ball things is that you need to use the crab underwater skill to make a shield and use that shield to prevent the water currents from sucking away the balls so you can move them and put them in the ring
around 12:15 or so, the idea of justice usually has the blindfolded woman holding a scale and a sword representing it so i wouldn’t be surprised if focalors is a sword user, given she is the archon of justice and therefore should embody the concept of justice (keyword should)
I realized i got traumatized by Rana when i was exploring Fontaine. Whenever i see quests now, i have to wonder if this is gonna take me a week to complete.
12:20 !NOT A LEAK! That person on the statue isn't representative of the current archon as it depicts the original/old archon, and doesn't get replaced when a new god takes over the region. Since Zhonglie and Venti are still the original gods they look like their statue (atleast to some degree) Also as Raiden is identical to her twin you can't see a difference either. So in Sumeru/Fontaine/Natlan the Satues aren't the Gods. Just a little fact to know if you didn't already. Also i loved the Video it was great, im thankful for the effort❤
@@wrathfullys I think thats because rukhadevata doesn't exist after her deletion in the archon quest, also they look very similar because nahida is a sort of clone. (as far as i know) I'm not sure on this
Pretty epic progress, good job! Now all it needs is to repeat it for the rest of your accounts and maybe for the rest of regions too. On the plus side, it gets you quite a bunch of goodies you may like to use on upcoming banners. Personally I'm going to drag the progress for as long as possible. I did kinda rush the beginning to get city reputation but now I plan to not do any more than one quest per day. That way the new region might last me a bit... Yet I still think I'll be done way before 4.1 comes.

The new region looks amazing. But I haven't been playing genshin for a while now(since 3.5 or something)what I would love from hoyoverse that they make the event quest side quest or special quest which makes us feel like we will not miss anything major . Because event are like the main time gated thing . And don't give such much reward but just the weapons and crown and a few primos
I did pretty much the same thing, most of my Sumeru areas have below 10% exploration but in Fontaine they are all above 80% already with many of the world quests done.
I still haven’t met raiden and sumeru made me lose all motivation, but now I love Fontaine and I’m starting to play again. I’m gonna try to do the archon quests to catch up somewhat

I’m glad Fontaine is so much fun to explore, took a 6-8 month break and came back and I’m back to being addicted to the game, just wish they had a little bit more out of 4.0
Java darling, go outside and touch real sea water. I haven't even played the new update because i am in vacations but even when i play normally i don't finish the story quests so fast. Don't over do it
My current best guess on Furina is that she may be an archer. My logic behind that is that the Traveler's elemental abilities parallel the Archons, and the aiming thing is usually archers.
TBF current Fontaine is not that big, it only feels big because of the underwater areas. I finished 20 quests, found the 85 hydroculus, reached 100% on all three areas and reached level 4 reputation in less than 5 days.

This is gonna be great while motivating myself to farm and do the Liyue story quest again! Thank you for bringing back by love for this game!
“the baby boars are so cute!!”
*brutally murders them*
It is so funny how every content creator I watch exploring fontaine the first npc they talk about is baguette. Tbh my first one as well tho
29:20 OMG that’s so funny i didn’t expect it was possible without progressing the quest
around 12:15 or so, the idea of justice usually has the blindfolded woman holding a scale and a sword representing it so i wouldn’t be surprised if focalors is a sword user, given she is the archon of justice and therefore should embody the concept of justice (keyword should)
Man if I did the same I'd probably end up with burnout real quick lol
I don't know if you realize later in the video, but you can't drown with the Fontaine stamina bar even if it hits zero, above water or underwater
You know it's funny because the prophecy says the exact opposite
With swimming in Fontaine, you cannot drown. When you deplete the stamina bar, it just makes you go slower (like sprinting in the regular areas)
I realized i got traumatized by Rana when i was exploring Fontaine. Whenever i see quests now, i have to wonder if this is gonna take me a week to complete.
ive had a really horrible day and java uploading on the exact same day made it 100x better
44:25 this is the smoothest transition I've seen in my 457 years on this earth 😩🤌
"Second five star geo claymore" Itto has left the chat.
I managed to complete everything yesterday. Glad to know others in the same boat haha
Sumeru's looks like Nahida tho
yea i think the statues do change though since Sumeru's statue looks more like Lesser Lord Kusanali aka Nahida more than Greater Lord Rukhadevata
@@Shadow-yc7yy rhukadevata and nahida look the same
@@MrGshinobi that's only afterwards tho. Before the Deshret thing, Rukke looked way older. After Forbidden Knowledge cleanse, she got shorter.
For everyone who’s struggling with pronunciations:
Ousia: wee-sha
Pneuma: new-ma
Fontemer abherrants: fon-te-mr ab-he-rnts
Narzissenkreuz: Nar-zi-sn-croos
Neuvilette: Noo-vie-et
Clorinde: clo-raan
(From someone who speaks a little french, please correct me on these if im wrong or give me more that you don’t know how to pronounce)
I wish you all beautiful days and cold pillows :)
7:02, this cracked me so bad, java saying the board are so cute while unaliving them slowly😭😭
the fact that this one uncompleted region only 2 acts in took 24 hours really shows how big the rest of the game is
Ooh a nice easter egg is when you go to the Foutain of Lucine w the music and sfx muted and vo at max, some pretty interesting lines happen there!
This video was more entertaining than I imagined, to the point where I didn't even put it in the background and actually watched your whole Fountain journey in details 🤩 now I'm more excited about the new part of the map cuz that means another video like this one 🤩
On a side note, I wanna tell you that you should reeeeally farm as many primos as you possibly can in both swords annnnnd SPELLS only 🤭
Java: "HOAAA!! the baby boars are here too!! aww, theyre so cute!"
also him: *proceeds to murder them*
The characters also have pnemia and osuia in them (The ones that originiate from fontaine like Lynette and Lyney)
Also they are pronounced like numa and osia
The new region looks amazing. But I haven't been playing genshin for a while now(since 3.5 or something)what I would love from hoyoverse that they make the event quest side quest or special quest which makes us feel like we will not miss anything major . Because event are like the main time gated thing . And don't give such much reward but just the weapons and crown and a few primos
i jumped off that at first and it wouldent respawn so i SWAM TO THE CITY
This was the most enjoyable Fontaine vid I’ve seen yet Ty Java
I just wanted to do it in a week but oh my god that is a lot 😳 (I’m at average 75% per region with most of the hydroculus)
I haven't even finished Caribert yet and now I'm crying
I dont get it why rush? This all we gon get for a month
I also rushed it bc of the simple reason that my vacation soon ends and i get back to work where I only get to play like 20 minutes a day
@@YuriYeag3rsameee
I did pretty much the same thing, most of my Sumeru areas have below 10% exploration but in Fontaine they are all above 80% already with many of the world quests done.
I still haven’t met raiden and sumeru made me lose all motivation, but now I love Fontaine and I’m starting to play again. I’m gonna try to do the archon quests to catch up somewhat
Loved watching you explore the area, great video as always :))
15:56 it was a normal electro shield from domains or lower abyss u can destroy the electro one with cryo or pyro only the new enemies have those new energy crystals
I laughed hard with the "stay at the transportation" part hahahhah I would be the one who would always jump off as well. And the part that the chest and the circle thing spawned at the same time and you had to go all the way back to the chest 😂😂😂😂
I remember watching your Raiden reroll video almost a year ago, haven't seen a video of yours since then
Still as entertaining as I remember,thank you❤
This guy has some talent; He made me laugh through the whole video just WOW!
I’m glad Fontaine is so much fun to explore, took a 6-8 month break and came back and I’m back to being addicted to the game, just wish they had a little bit more out of 4.0
its really rare seeing java actually enjoy genshin
Java darling, go outside and touch real sea water. I haven't even played the new update because i am in vacations but even when i play normally i don't finish the story quests so fast. Don't over do it
Im moving out for the first time which is scary
But packing my stuff while watching Java was actually calming
i just watched this without a single interruption and it was beautiful
Honestly, the will power required to do all that is just-
Hats off bro
22:40
im happy that im not the only one who accidentally enter the water canon
Btw the stamina recharges underwater so you can swim infinitely :3
Wait sorry i didnt realise you figured it out
The details are so nice! Superb editing as always Java 🎉
My current best guess on Furina is that she may be an archer. My logic behind that is that the Traveler's elemental abilities parallel the Archons, and the aiming thing is usually archers.
48:59
"They somehow turned court into a mimigame"
Danganronpa has been out there for 13 years.
W video first video I've ever watched the whole way though on youtube!
Btw in 4.1 there will be a banner of CRYO CATALYST! Just fyi.
Ninianne and Vivianne both have 20 Million HP, they're the current tankiest enemies in the game
uhh i’m pretty sure it’s 3 million
Damn dude your videos are my favorite but this one brightened up my soul
the second it released i was like KOKOMI IS A TRUE FISH
absolutely such a fun video. thank you java!
This is a nice change of pace
YES. After Fontaine i have been firmly convinced- Underwater >>> Land :D
I did the same thing .. completed everything in a few days time. Everything 100% atm,, the dedication
In Natlan, there will be over 500 Pyroculus, I'm calling it
271 is apparently the maximum they're gonna do. Fontaine's datamining indicates there's only 271 Oculi, just like Sumeru.
@@ZanathKariashiI'm good with that, no more please xD
Man I miss mondstadt...
26:44 at the top of the big structure you can see a common chest :)
TBF current Fontaine is not that big, it only feels big because of the underwater areas. I finished 20 quests, found the 85 hydroculus, reached 100% on all three areas and reached level 4 reputation in less than 5 days.
4:12 i laughed way to hard at this
NOT A SPOILER hopefully I don’t get hidden but anyways awhile ago before sumeru people has thought she was gonna be a sword because justice lady has a sword and stuff. Tho they could’ve totally speculated that she wielded a balance like a catalyst so that’s a missed opportunity.
I will say I am very surprised he actually 100% everything available so far good job
