for the two rusted bolts, try to grind one line on it with the dremel and then get a flathead or a rachet with a flathead bit and turn it out. the paint looks good can't wait to see more.
By far the most inspiring EG build series for me. I especially love these episodes where you painted the engine bay and interior, It just came out so clean. Very nostalgic going back and watch through these again. I’m starting my own EG very soon and I so look forward to doing this.
Anyone looking to use spray paint on their project, just use Rustoleum and their clear coat. Better than dupli-color and cheaper. Theres also no real need to a primer if you clean your surface, but just be sure to lay a few coats and use finishing grits before the clear coat! Hope this helps anyone who can't find a budget paint job!
I used that spraymax clear, I used a respirator mask but somehow breathed a tiny bit and I had trouble breathing for a couple of week. Definitely be careful when using it!
Respect spraying that complete motor bay by hand. I got a handy tool for spray can I can out on too so it's handles super easy. It sort handles like A plant spray, it has a trigger for your finger so less stress of pressing down all the time. It's from rust-oleum, perhaps look it up and you'll like it
An easy trick for getting those bolts out is notching the top so you can use a fly head and use an impact driver ( the tool you would use to remove the screws holding the rotor on) or hammer on a smaller socket and use an impact gun to get the instant snap
Heck yea man. It’s a lot of work but all worth it in the end! I have been at it for a couple weeks now still got a couple more weekends ahead before I lay down the actual paint just prime for now! 🙌
Two drops of oil on the base or flanges portion of those 2 bolts ,then using a 1 1/2 inch cutting wheel on the dremal tool.the heat from the dremal cut gets the oil to penetrate the threads.Then use an IMPACT driver hand tool,and those nuts should come right out,they did on my 94 civic hatch.plus ,don't be afraid of using a saw-all just but slow and pay attention to where the blade travels on your cuts,work smarter not harder. looks good so far..
Walk away! I'll agree with that. I just painted my integra bay and I did what you said not to. And had some runs. But it looked great! So I went back to sand the runs. Cleaned the area and didn't wait long enough and started painting again. The paint wrinkled up and now it looks bad. My bay looks like I used wrinkle paint on the entire bay.
What I did to take mine out was peel up the side closest to the core support, took my sawzall and cut the rusted bolt in the back. My saw died so I wound up finishing it off with a 22oz hammer and a cold chisel and it was flush.
I mean no disrespect.. But for $30 you can literally get a Pint of Single stage (basic pigment colors) at Oreillys, then a $10 HF paint gun. And hit the bay with proper paint, that won’t wrinkle, Fade, or Oxidize in 6 months. And it won’t chip off if your buddy leans on it. JS 🤷🏻♂️

This happens to nearly every Honda battery tray. Drill the bolts out and replace with nut-serts.

I was recommended by my neighbor sprayed my wheels I used the respirator and also had a bad breathing problem for couple weeks
@@austinfeathers7773 Did you have a beard or any facial hair at the time? Having facial hair renders respirators a lot less effective unfortunately.

I just used a gloss white for my white EG6 and it looked exactly the same or even just a little whiter but nicer
I have a Craftsman E-Z out kit that i used for those exact bolts sir. Great to have and would get them off easily.

Did you try a bolt extractor set to remove the bolts off?

Can a pcv valve that went inside the breather box of a 2000 honda civic ex cause problems to the engine? It broke and half of it went inside.

What I'm about to do to my 88, but my dad has a decent paint gun that was like $150 and he painted with it before turned out great.
