I heard her play Un Sospiro in another recording, so I just had to search her up and this video came up. I'm very glad I searched her up because this playing is just phenomenal.
Add me to the "just discovered her" list. The REPUBLIC OF GEORGIA certainly churns out its share of remarkable pianists. (20 years ago I sponsored two of the best in recitals: GEORGE VATCHNADZE & ALEXANDER KORSANTIYA.) The l962 TCHAIKOVSKY competition really produced a bumper crop of mighty pianists: ASHKENAZY & OGDEN tied for First Prize (2 pianists who nobody has heard of tied for Second Prize), and ELISO VIRSALADZE won Third Prize. With Ogdon deceased and ASHKENAZY conduc- ting and doing some piano recordings fairly recently but not to my knowledge giving recitals, this leaves ELISO VIRSALADZE at age 74 as the one from this group who is still concertizing like a real trouper; she just played with the LA ORQUESTA SINFONIA DE GALICIA on January 30, 2017.
Her playing is phenomenal but too Russian inspired for me. The great Soviet players conquered Chopin rather than bringing his music to life. That's my take, which I expect will not be appreciated. It comes down to taste. I do agree that Virsaladze is a fantastic pianist who should be better known.
