Love watching you, Jesse James lived out his full life in Kansas, he wasn't shot , that was a scam so he could go and live his life out in Kansas. When Frank died my Great grandpa who was a train engineer took Frank James cremated body on his train to StLouis to a bank vault.
21:27 Beer collectibles never fetch as much as SODA. Have you noticed this ? I guess that's telling us something . LOL . That sign is an INCREDIBLE feat of layout , design and illustration all coming together for MAJOR "eye appeal" . The Ram looks like he was done in OIL PAINT as well. Notice that he looks "creamy". Most illustration are was done in water based gauche for TIME & deadlines . Oil paint takes days & weeks to dry.
Beer is down in popularity right now, but soda seems to be bubbling up! I thought that sign was really well composed as well. I didn't think about oil paint being harder to use
I am a Navy brat or I was for 13 years. Consequently every time we moved a lot of things got left behind. I watch you a lot and so often I see toys I used to own. If only we had stayed in the same town that had a big attic! But then I wouldn’t have been to Hawaii twice, California so many times, and attended a high school the day it was integrated!
I'm an Air Force brat & ex navy wife & lament the same about losing my childhood toys to various moves. I was born in England & have been back a few times as well as Germany, Switzerland, North Carolina, San Diego, New Mexico & Virgina. Yea, losing things w/ every move & changing schools was the price to pay for a free trip around the world & getting to experience different cultures, i guess!
20:45 I swear I saw one of those owls in your inventory at your death pile sale on one of your videos. If that chair is from 200 years ago I'd expect a lot of wear on that stretcher in the front due to people resting their feet there.
18:18 Soakys are a TUFF SELL. The better ones are Batman & Robin, Superman, Frankenstein , Wolfman, Mummy and probably the MOST valuable one : Creature From The Black Lagoon. Also the more OBSCURE the cartoon is, the better : Squiddly Diddly , Winsome Witch, Atom Ant, Secret Squirrel , etc. The Soakys here on this shelf-- will be here the next time you visit . And the year after that as well.
I shop there all the time! I love Jesse James and the Rusty Chandelier! I dislike booth owners listing online and having the item in their booth. I've been burnt to many times by that. And, sometimes the item gets damaged in the booth!
Really enjoyed your lovely video. Awesome, I love ❤ the different companies advertised items .... Recently I am collecting coffee ☕ mugs of different coffee shop n brands with logo or quoting. Enjoy George. With love from SAM Guwahati, Assam, India 🇮🇳 ♥ 🙏 🤝
2:40 Doesn't look like that stopper goes with the bottle. I think it came from a decanter, not a perfume bottle. That would be a lot of trouble to file it down. I don't know though.
Oh George...making my day happy at beginning..I want to be in Portland on the big vintage days..one day again...I am loving learning the cross country things and how they all pop up...and where you may tend to discover and new like and where you find it...I had totally forgotten about the bubble bath guys and thanks also for several neat glass areas to consider...as well as all the guy stuff...I am going to get my crabby dad on youtube...I am...I am...thanks as always.
The only problem with ultramarine swirl is that the color is not consistent. Some is very green, the ultramarine color is more desirable. Cups and saucers can be of different shades if bought separately. Use caution if buying through the mail.
Evening George! When you were doing the estate sale in Florida a while ago and had the round Gesso mirror that I fell in love with, but couldn't get to, since I am in Seattle... I finally found one today at Goodwill in Burien... I have been looking for 20 years, but I am too cheap to pay retail... LOL I got it for 12.99, went down the aisle looking at the other pictures and framed items and found a yard long gesso mirror too, for 7.99! I was out the door in a flash with both of them! Love when I find deals like that! They will have to go to my storage for now because of the tree that fell through my house, but they will be safe and carefully packaged! So happy I found them, and before anybody broke them!
I'm in love with the opalescent! I found 3 hobnail pieces at various places that were affordable i'll hoard & love for awhile before reselling. With my "luck" the price will drop on them when i do decide to sell them. I'd dearly love to find a beautiful piece of bristol glass; a perfume bottle, if it comes in such. I lament occasionally over the pair of lucite candles i found at a yard sale for $1 that were stolen out of my booth. Well, i was at the Goodwill a few days ago and wouldn't you know i found a pair in perfect condition in a zip lock bag for $1.79 (where do they come up with such odd ball prices?) which of course i had to do my happy dance & sing a chorus of Hallelujah! Those babies sell for about $25 on ebay! Not my taste in decor, but as we resellers know, nostalgia sells! Thanks, George for the lessons! Congrats on the great finds, especially the epic owl. Safe & Happy trails to you!
I'm glad you found a replacement! It's crummy when people steal, no one is going to die if they can't afford something, and there's usually layaway so it's really not necessary. I really like the opalescent too and it's around our area to find
Nice to see you visit my old hometown, St. Joe, MO. , where the Pony Express began and Jesse James ended. This antique mall is pretty representative of Midwest antiques. A lot of pottery, wood, and primitives. Lots of old farm tools and farmhouse items.
I am new to your channel and just can’t stop watching! You are so informative and funny and I love your honesty. Here in Tri-Cities WA we don’t have an abundance of “antique” malls but the Vintage Markets have started to grow and pop-up events are happening so it’s been really fun to get your perspective on pricing as you wander about.
Hi there! There used to be a lot of malls in Richland I would shop a lot, but I know some have shut. I liked the antique show they used to do at the TRAC, does that still go on? I'm glad you enjoy the videos and look forward to showing you more!
You are getting close to my Omaha and a few good antique malls along interstate 80 that’s part of your route. Really fun video, and as always I learned a great deal from you
I must see Jane Wyman destroy now !! I’ve learned so much on this video. I just bought that Spanish Lace compote from Vintage Vinny!! It’s now being soaked in Blue Dawn dish soap to be put in my collection 👍 The color on the Jeanette glass is rich!. My husband would have loved the Tennessee tuxedo piece. ♥️🐩 I must add I love that toy horse carrier!!😀
Thanks for the nice video George. I love to follow along with you on your travels and how you explain just why you’re picking up something for an upcoming destination.
Love the videos and narration. Always in awe of George's left hand deftness when filming and handling items and wonder if he's ever dropped or chipped anything!
Great tour of the mall. I was wondering how one could tell the difference between a contemporary made Lucite lamp and an vintage one? You mentioned the 80’s chandelier but were they also manufactured in the deco era ? The design looked very Art Deco. Thanks. PS thanks for all the Informative videos. I am really getting an education !
Good question! There is some older Lucite but it really wasn't a popularly used material until the 1950s, when the Art Deco period was primarily over. It became more popular in lighting in the 1970s and 1980s, during the Deco Revival era. New ones from China will have new cords also made in China, the sellers might try to pull a Made in China sticker off but they won't bother to change the wiring, which is permanently marked
Good evening, George! That Deco tray with the nude dance would make a great tray for a Deco decanter set. At $145.00 for that German wall clock...I'd be driving another nail in the wall. That Jim Beam cat decanter is one I've never seen before. That was interesting. That "Cherries" pitcher looked like Mosser. I have two sets of Mosser, and I display them right along with the Northwood, Dugan, Imperial, etc.. Mosser makes great glass, and they use the old molds, from the original makers. They take care their pieces can't be confused with the old pieces, and I have a lot of respect for them and their glass. That French sconce was fantastic. I liked that bamboo fern stand. I have a "thing" for bamboo furniture. The Ultramarine glass is really pretty. I bet their "Iris" pattern would be really pretty in that colour. Do you ever come across one of the "Angry Duck" hood ornaments, from the movie "Convoy"? I'd like to have one...if I could find one affordable. I've found some, but I ain't paying what they want for them. That was a great mall! Thanks for the take-along!!!
I LOVE MONSTER MAGNET ! Funny note: did you ever notice that it seems to be based on the demon / devil from Fantasia ? Often a creative team keeps a scrapbook of photo references to help them design a toy or character. Also Also-in REVERSE : the Superman Soaky was used as reference in some of those GIANT 15 foot tall roadside attractions (example: giant holding a big muffler , giant holding a big chicken leg, etc.) I know you've seen it before .... They are still around in areas that you would travel thru.
It is really cool! I have heard they'd get inspiration from other designs like that. Did not realize the Soaky inspired those roadside items I've seen around!
Yes they are! Martha Stewart showed us all how we can use them as pedestals so they don't just stay in the cupboard, so now there's a new customer for them
So that blew up up lesson Bowl you were looking at how can you tell if it's Northwood or Jefferson that you said? I have something similar that has 3 ft but they are in the form of triangles... can you identify that?
You pretty much have to refer to an old pattern glass catalogue or hope to find the piece correctly attributed online. Jefferson molds went to a lot of different companies after they closed
I'm looking for a pic print I believe of a cowboy sleeping in the clouds with his head on his saddle. I have only seen the one and it was in a really bad bar in Las Cruces New Mexico if you see or if you know who the artist is let me know???

George, I believe it wasn't Jane Wyman in Glass Menagerie. Vivien Leigh played the lead with Marlon Brando.
On that green lamp that said as is for $150 I think it was just missing the plug
Really enjoyed your lovely video. Awesome, I love ❤ the different companies advertised items ....

More from Sturgis please. What an amazing place.

Just a phenomenal place. Thanks George. Always fun.
19:52 haaaaaaaa I had one of those monster magnets as a kid
The owl is fabulous! You have a keen eye for the good stuff. I'm hoping for you to discover a real Noguchi coffee table for $50.
The only problem with ultramarine swirl is that the color is not consistent. Some is very green, the ultramarine color is more desirable. Cups and saucers can be of different shades if bought separately. Use caution if buying through the mail.

You are so welcome! I'm glad to share
I live nearby in Kansas City. Love this place. Thinking how excited I would have been to see you there.
Good to see ya George! What an awesome shop! they def have something for everyone. We don't have any shops remotely like that near me! Enjoy!

Congratulations on surpassing 30K subs! Soon to be 30 million
Thank you so much!! :)
I agree, it's cool to see a booth owner construct a "cat walk" over their booth on which they can show bigger, bulkier items.
I like that idea too, should do so in my Seattle mall
Oooo when you zoned in on the bottle cap girl I was reaching for the dragon ware piece 😍

Now that I can watch this with the sound on...I think that Fenton lime piece you picked up is the Persian Medallion pattern. Great video as always!
Oops of course it is! I don't know why I said Spanish Lace. I was a little under the weather when I filmed that's my only excuse
That was fun, thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!
Loved your video of shopping, thank you again.
You are getting close to my Omaha and a few good antique malls along interstate 80 that’s part of your route. Really fun video, and as always I learned a great deal from you
I always learn so much from your videos. Thank you!!
Love the metallic owl. As always, there are many items to learn from. I remember the candelabra style and a good price too.

That's a great pattern! I'm glad you were able to find a good piece from Vinny, he seems like a fun guy. Agreed on the horse carrier
I am kicking myself for not buying that Owl at your sale last weekend! I loved that piece!!
This was an interesting and informative video. Glad you took us along to show us this antique mall. Thanks George.
Thanks for the nice video George. I love to follow along with you on your travels and how you explain just why you’re picking up something for an upcoming destination.
coincidentaly Jeffrey just had the loves paradise with mother and child in his last video.
Thank you for all the wonderful information!
I like the clear names and descriptions of items. You are increasing my knowledge
Love the videos and narration. Always in awe of George's left hand deftness when filming and handling items and wonder if he's ever dropped or chipped anything!
Another great treasure hunt!
Great video and education.
Thank you 🙏
lots of cool stuff!
I love your videos as I have learn a lot from you.
Once again a great video, thank you George
That metal owl was great design. I would love to see other items from that line! So enjoy spending time with you George! Thx.
Always enjoy your vids George.

Hi George, I love the Mascot owl. When will you sell it? Cost? Shipping would be to Minnesota. Thanks.
Shoot, I wish I'd seen this! It's at Epic Antique in Seattle now.
Nice trip 🌹👍
Love the red Fenton swung vase. Wonderful mall and video? Thanks, George.
You saw some really fun stuff there.
Thank you man always great

@@TheAntiqueNomad Look for the big head square jawed guy - with "Superman hair style". The one I have seen he's holding a muffler.
I collect glass cake stands. Vintage antique, love them. Are the selling well?
Yes they are! Martha Stewart showed us all how we can use them as pedestals so they don't just stay in the cupboard, so now there's a new customer for them
I would have loved to purchase the two paintings of the African Women.
Glad you're making your way west! How much was that Blenko pinched green crackle vase?
$24 which is about right
@@TheAntiqueNomad Thank you!

I don't know why people care about a Crack or so !! To a collectors I think it gives it character !!
I'm fussy because my buyers are, but I do own a few damaged things because I haven't found more perfect ones for my collection!
I like collector plates. Don't they make wood frames for decorative plates?
They do!
Nice 😊
Hello were the prices firm for the African American paintings or is there some wiggle room? I may be interested in one or both
Those are at Jesse James Antique Mall in St. Joseph, MO, you would need to call them with an offer
When are you back in the PNW?
Fall I believe
