Agreed! I know he is highly regarded as a legit killer guitarist amongst those of us that know… but I paid good money for a concert ticket a few years ago and, to my disappointment, the whole show was geared toward the “tween” audience. I still love his playing and I know he has to make a living but I’d love to see him doing what he truly loves and excels at.

Two of my favorite artists TOGETHER. MAGIC! I watch this Crossroads concert over and over. This collaboration SHOULD have produced an album and a tour!! These two extremely talented artists compliment each other so darn well!!! They can do each other's songs as if it's their own. One of the best collaborations I have ever heard!!!! This song is also one of my favorites because of Keith's sexy, slinky, melodic guitar playing. John adds such beautiful touches to it. Both of these guys also offer such complimentary stage presence as well. Easy on the ear and eye.

So glad you did this song. It’s a masterpiece. John is a beast, of course, but Keith is a phenomenal player in his own right. He’s not as technically sound as others, but he’s a master at “less is more”. Only plays a few notes but so expressively. Also just wanted to add about John: he’s a master at knowing what a song needs. He just has a feel for knowing what notes to hit, and he rarely overplays. Of course he adds his own flair, but it almost never feels out of place. Obviously I’m a fan of John Mayer. 😂

As a non-player but music lover/listener, the music is incredible. Becomes even moreso when you realize just how technical the guitar is, and just how much effort it takes to look absolutely effortless. Some of the most soul drenching tones, runs, solo's and phrasing I've ever heard. I've watched this performance so many times and so glad you reviewed it! I knew there was something about it that gave it a "floaty" sound and now I know..."B! B! B!" Thank you!

This was always one of the most inspiring performances I have seen...... I don't know the theory, but I love seeing a music teacher appreciation for the unique musicianship and slowing intentional playing along with the vibe of the song and lyrics. Thanks for doing this video..... I am inspired to play this song again!

Great reaction/explanation man. Outside of the tasteful guitar playing, how about how the drummer and bass player are in perfect sync, providing that solid bedrock that drives this tune along. Love that! ✌🏻🎸🎶

The original recorded version by Keith has some of the prettiest clean guitar tones of all time, imho. And the subtle walking moves he does between chords is brilliant as well. Keith is awesome, song is awesome. One of the reasons we love music so much.

Awesome episode on an awesome song executed by awesome artists. Not too crazy about Keith in general but can't deny dude's talents as a singer, songwriter & guitar player! John Mayer, no comments needed. Love Michael's passionate way to talk about music and its beautiful subtleties! Please keep these coming! Merry Xmas y'all!!
