I've always determined whether I liked any song by the melody and rhythm. So before any words are spoken or bars spit, I already had made up my mind as to whether or not I liked the song and even wanted to listen to the artist, themselves. That being said, this melodic gem is pure aural bliss that just uplifts and takes you to a psychedelic wonderland of good vibes and cool breezes. there a process for finding the samples? or do you just have the ear and musical archives of the master you seem to be?
depends on the person, but for madlib i think he buys random vinyls, listens to each for hours and marks points where he thinks he could make a sample out of it. So finding the samples is technically random but he got the ear to tell what would work on a track
