Greg Turner there were some samples those records... but madlib can play hella instruments, knows how to fit music together, knows every aspect of digging for records, and most importantly knows how to put together a dope track
Often in these interviews the interviewer doesn't' know their shit or is just plain cringey but honestly, the woman in this smashed it. Big up to all the people involved in the production of this interview - a really enjoyable and informative watch!

When you listen to madlib or a j Dilla beat, it's as if time freezes around you and you go into another world. The moment you take your headphones off, you want to go back to that world. Their music is on another level and I'm glad to experience this journey while madlib is still hear. RIP King Dilla.

I love how Madlib throughout the video picks up these little nuances within these tracks like the hi-hat at 8:42 or this tiny synthy soundbit at 12:00 in J Dilla's beat. You can tell he's listening to music completely differently compared to the rest of the world's population.
