I dont know if this information is even interesting to anyone^^ But messenger birds work like this: Birds only fly in one direction -> home or to there nest. If you want to make a normal bird to a messenger bird, you just need to capture a bird of your message destination (for example from the capital or from an allied lord). After that you bring the captured bird home and when you need help, you strap a message on the bird and let him free. He will always find his way home, no matter where you let him free. That is also why in medieval Europe when 2 lords declared there friendship, they would gift each other a bird from there home, so if one of them was in need of aid, they could release the bird with a message. Messenger birds even got used in world war 1. Back then there was no radio communication, for every communication with the front line you had to have a cable, leading all the way to your message destination. But because of heavy artillery fire, and cables laying over ground, every cable was destroyed that wasnt laid yesterday. Because of that, both sides used pigeons and men to communicate. A message from the headquarters to the front lines would be carried by men, who would carry a pigeon. The answer from the front line would be written on a note, carried by the pigeon back to headquarters. Messenger pigeons were so important, that shooting an enemy pigeon down could mean the difference between an successful or an unsuccessful attack. Killing an allied pigeon at least in the britisch army but probably everywhere was punishable by death.
I'm of the opinion that Sokka deliberately let Katara overhear their conversation. He knew that when she was in the water Toph wouldn't be able to "see" her, so he used the opportunity to get Toph to let her guard down.
So one of the theories behind Combustion Man is that he is a fire bender that managed to open all of his chakras similar to Aang. fun thing about aang "sensing" sparky sparky boom man about to attack: its actually he hears and recognizes The BreathTM because airbenders and firebenders both have a lot of breath control and aang knows one that sounds like that is gonna be trouble
Aang makes everything possible to be a good person and keep a positive karma, but he still a kid and this episode is a perfect example of how having fun is still a big temptation now as was when he runned away from the temple cause mentally just a short period passed.

To add to the previous video's discussion, the avatar that vanished was Aang because when the avatar d1es they are reborn however because Aang ran away and was frozen in ice a new avatar couldnt have been born (in essence he stalled the reincarnation cycle while being absent from his duties. The comet came 12- years after Roku died, sozen waited before he struck the air nation
The messenger bird only delivers or go to somebody if there is a message to deliver. So when Sokka tried to make the bird go to Grab gran, it failed and the bird is like No. Sorry if this is late.
Notice how Combustion Man is bald, that is one of the main attributes of Airbenders (There are no other characters that are bald and are not Airbenders). He also breathes in before every attack, which connects to Air and especially Fire (On Episode 1 we hear Iroh say to Zuko that Firebending comes from the Breath) AND has a tattoo on his forehead connecting him again to Airbending (Airbending masters get arrow tattoos). Fire + Air = Combustion Bending
What about guru patik...or master pakku. Theyre both bald/balding. Or ooo what about the old guy that turned in haku he was bald lmao. Bro being bald doesnt automatically make u an airbender sheesh. And the tattoo connection to airbending is pretty far fetched and reaching way out there although it being representative to the 3rd eye definetly evokes some spirtuality with the whole thing. But i think youre definetly on to somethig with uncle iroh and the whole learning other forms of bending. Coming at fire bending with an airbender approach might just be why hes like that. Although it is kind of a reach. Its highly unlikely the fire nation allowed airbending techniques and forms to survive (scrolls) but its also impossible to fully erase anything so the chances of a scroll or two existing out there is pretty good. Pirates or wealthy people could have one within a private collection. Altough its not like combustion man uses anything that resembles air bending in my opinion. Airbending is about redirecting and using your enemy against themself but that could be just 90% of it since weve never seen a direct aggressive approach to airbending thats so straightforward. Combustion man definetly had to have some kind of experience in his life where he realized fire doesnt need to come out of the body from feet and hands and can instead be manipulated to come from anywhere around his body he just has to visualize and attack. But i will give you this nothing we know says combustion man invented this form. It could have very likely been invented 100s of years ago by a fire bender who traveled/studied/lived/or was good friends with an airbender and together they invented the form passing it down generations to only a select few.
What he is trying to say is: Similar to when Iroh created the lightening redirect, Combustion Man’s Bending style draws from 2 different Nations (Fire and Air). In the comment I think he was pointing out the connections in his design to infer his bending technique.
Sparky Sparky Boom Man was an interesting character to watch because he's basically the Avatar version of the Terminator who shoots explosive fire from his head like a grenade launcher.

Roshi, you down bad for always doing that Big Head Sheera effect to the queen. . . I love it every time tho! 😂
Throughout the series there are these special subsets of different bending elements.
What he is trying to say is:
Similar to when Iroh created the lightening redirect, Combustion Man’s Bending style draws from 2 different Nations (Fire and Air). In the comment I think he was pointing out the connections in his design to infer his bending technique.
The GAang really out here finessing the shit out of these fools lmao

Sparky Sparky Boom Man was an interesting character to watch because he's basically the Avatar version of the Terminator who shoots explosive fire from his head like a grenade launcher.
