National Anthem of Socialist Libya (1969-2011) - الله أكبر (God is the Greatest)

Composed by Abdalla Shams El-Din in 1954 and written by Mahmoud El-Sherif in 1955, "Allahu Akbar" was adopted as the official national anthem in 1 September 1969, by Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.
Muammar Gaddafi became the de facto leader of Libya on 1 September 1969 after the king had fled the country. Gaddafi abolished the monarchy and established the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, with the motto "freedom, socialism and unity" and declared the Quran to be the constitution of Libya.
