I think the clues in the packing part of his comment. Same for me too. When my e-MTB hardtail is loaded with pannier racks and a handle bar bag and your off for 3-4 nights on the bike a hardtail is perfect for light trails and touring. Panniers on a full suspension bike can of course be done but it’s far from ideal 4:02 and with a limited choice.
So right at the start I was very surprised to hear you say „as on display“ for the new Propain Sresh and quote the 5999 € price…. So I understand that’s what the accompanying price sheet seems to suggest, but apparently they cheekily added a „FROM“ to that price tag - meaning that one COULD get one for 5999 but with selecting components LIKE ON THE DISPLAY it comes to 9789!
Went to check out the Rose Bike, only to be met with the WE DON’T SELL TO THE UK SINCE BREXIT message. Oh, and no mention of the Hardtail E once that message had been digested. Such a shame… really liked the look of that one (and all the others in this excellent whirlwind review).
Pinion still turning heads. Glad you cleared up the noise issue. My Scott eStrike whines like a cheap whore in the lower gears, so I don’t think a bit of noise in the first four gears with the Pinion are going to be a deal breaker. Good vid.
Another super informative e-bike review Steve. If only that Nicolai /pinion was mid power so a bit lighter and “bike like” (like Specialized SL) I’d be saving up. Really looking forward to your full test. Bring a Geometron fan I do love the Nicolai build quality. Perhaps it could be a bit slacker. Let’s see when you test.

Nicolai finally make a gearbox bike worth buying, then stick the controller on the handleba! What an epic fail! Even Bosch havelearned not to put stuff there 😂😂😂😂.
